[VIDEOS] Salman Irshad - First impressions

Looked much much better against Quetta. Good yorkers and bowled aggressively.

My only issue is that sometimes he can be a little wayward. While Haris Rauf is quite accurate with his bowling, Irshad can bowl some inaccurate balls.

Nevertheless, he has come back from a massive horror show against Peshawar Zalmi.
 
Lol, he bowls like a trundler at 129-132 km/hr now. What changed?
 
Interesting bowler to watch from an entertaining perspective but he clearly isn't cut out for elite cricket. How does he keep getting selected with such a poor record and no year on year improvement?

Hes just as mediocre as he was in previous years. No wonder Lahore didnt stick with him
 
no exceptional pace (142-144 kph max)
no movement (hits the deck hard outside off stump mostly)
 
Not impressed by Irshad.Sameen and Arshad are better bowlers than this guy.PZ should try Siarjuddin too.
 
Brilliant spell from him today in PZ's run defence against KK. 0/24 in 4 overs.

Bowled 2 overs at the death, conceded just 8 runs between them.
 
the only thing he has going for him is the Malinga factor and Zaman Khan has taken the mantle on that.
 
Bowled well again today.

4 tidy overs for 24 runs with 2 wickets.

I rate this guy.

He's clever, bowls good yorkers and knows what he's doing.

3 for 29 from 4 overs in such a high scoring match against IU.
 
I thought he was rubbish when he played for Lahore. Surprisingly he has improved and been regularly picking up wickets for Zalmi this year.
 
The bowling action is like Lasith Malinga and even Malinga would have been proud of that Yorker that Salman Irshad bowled to get rid of Alex Hales.

What a ball that was.

The guy sprays it, isnt accurate and his head is always down when bowling. He will never play for Pakistan....

Yes he got some good yorkers in today, but this guy has a habit of bowling full tosses aswell.

Na, these bowlers like Salman or Zaman shouldn't be compared to Malinga because Maling's head used to be still.

His yorkers were accurate because his head was still and was always looking when delivering the ball.

The likes of Zaman and Salman throw their head away and just catapult the balll hoping that it pitches where they want. Salman throws alot of full tosses. Today he got wickets, but international level he wont survive.

Alot of times players leave his full tosses, but in international the guy would easily get smacked.

Yes the slingly action might be like Malinga, but Malinga was a dead accurate bowler which made his yorkers a treat to watch

I had never paid much attention to Irshad`s bowling before, but that was a flawless display of perfect yorkers. Hugely impressive and amazingly accurate. As someone who was supporting Islamabad, he suddenly created so much of fear that the only thought going through my mind at that stage was that they should rather show him respect, see him off, and instead target the other bowlers to reach the target. He looked so unplayable tonight. Had it not been for the distribution of gifts by Wahab, his excellent bowling had pretty much won them the match. Amongst the best passages of the tournament. It
also goes to show that yorkers are still the most lethal weapon that bowlers can posses, if only they know how to bowl them, though. Well done, Salman Irshad!

Dont forget that Malinga's pace was also lethal. Very dangerous bowler. He could bowl yorkers at will but also at high pace. Salman Irshad is sub 140 and needs to crank it up if he is to compare at all...

Looks pretty straight to the naked eye and his arm angle is above the shoulder as well, so even on that front pretty legal.

It bends like a boomerang when he whips those lethal Yorkers if not today he will be called tomorrow regardless he won’t survive in international cricket with this dodgy action so it’s better psl doesn’t play him either im tired of seeing these chuckers get away with chucking and getting praised for good bowling when they aren’t even legally qualified to bowl.

Surprised Irshad is hitting those speeds. Quickest iv seen him bowl before was up to 144kph. Recently the guy was trundling at 130kph - either those BPL guns are a little off or he has been putting in extra work.
What’s his speed been like in previous BPL matches?

But he used to bowl in mid 130s in all the psl matches... How is he suddenly hitting 150??? Has he worked on fitness and pace or speed guns are not working fine?

He has definitely worked on his fitness. His physique clearly looks much stronger than before.

Wahab Riaz was hitting the same speeds, even slightly slower, if speed guns were defective he’d have diff numbers as well.

Fast bowlers are said to hit their peak between 28-32 (Wahab too became genuinely fast from fast-medium during that period), perhaps Salman (27) is entering that zone as well.

His slower ball has no disguise. You can see it from a mile away. Even I can hit it for a four.

Munro chocked the opportunity.

Bowled well but didn’t mix it up enough as the batsmen got used to his predictable yorkers

With a decent bowling coach he could be a handfull
 
Salman Irshad delivers a stellar performance in T10 league. He took 3 wickets against Bangla Tigers while playing for Morrisville Samp Army. Also just conceded 12 runs in his 2 overs.
 
Samp Army's Salman Irshad's splendid form continues as he has taken 3 wickets, conceding just 12 runs in 2 overs in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023 against Deccan Gladiators.
 
Not a chucker by any chance. He has a slingy action and has some Malinga-like action but not chucking by the looks.
 
Salman Irshad bowled an impressive death over in Abu Dhabi T10 league in which he conceded only 6 runs and took 1 wicket.

This guys is getting better day by day!
 
Salman Irshad came back strongly after the carnage in his first over by Imad in the Abu Dhabi T10 League match against Deccan Gladiators.

He finished his two over spell with figures of 24/2.
 
Salman Irshad dismisses Yasir Khan in the match against Multan Sultans. Can he help his side get their first PSL win today. Will have to wait for that. So far his figures 1/21 in 2 overs.

He is one of the few fast bowlers in Pakistan who can bowl good yorkers, especially in the death overs of a T20 match. In the ongoing PSL, he hasn't been that effective though.
 
Salman Irshad delivered a standout performance for Delhi Bulls in the Abu Dhabi T10 2024, taking impressive figures of 2/15 in 2 overs against Deccan Gladiators.
 
Salman Irshad delivered an impressive performance in the second eliminator against Team Abu Dhabi where he took 2 wickets for 25 runs in his 2 overs to help secure victory for Delhi Bulls.
 
UAE Bulls' Salman Irshad picked a wicket for 35 runs in 2 overs in Abu Dhabi T10 League vs Deccan Gladiators. His team ended on a losing side.
