Let's take a moment to really appreciate this kids electric fielding that lifts the spirits of the entire team.

Especially against England in the SF, there were several occasions where he threw himself around - at the boundary / off his own bowling - to save several runs and keep the pressure on England.

I was surprised there was no special thread to appreciate the young Shadab, thus, I am creating one. He deserves all the praise.

Let's hope he is able to repeat the electric fielding on Sunday

Don't think he will play but I hope he does. He can decieve their middle to lower order.
Love this kid and he has a great attitude

I hope he plays on Sunday. I know India good against spin, but he is a genuine wicket taker and an all-round good cricketer. I have seen Kohli lose his wicket to legspin (Ish Sodhi has nailed him in WT20). I would play him over Imad.

Shadab is a package. We need to explore and exploit his batting as well.

Absolutely. Once Hafeez is gone his selection should become a nondebate

Hafeez is really holding us back. Also he's not getting any younger, Having Shadab at #4-#6 will really push him up, He can be a fantastic batsman.

Should be a sure shot. Imad Wasim should sit out for Fahim Ashraf.

I would play Ruman. So Amir for Imad would be the only change I would make. Unlucky for Fahim but his bowling still needs work.

He is a live wire. Definitely guys like him will lift the entire team up. There was a time Jadeja was in the side purely for his fielding . So was Raina when he was going through bad form.

He should play on Sunday, only need 1 out of him and Imad as India play spin well and they batter Imad (he doesn't even spin the ball)

Absolutely agreed. Need to play all 4 bowlers in case it's a flat deck with Shadab and Hafeez perfect combo

I see Shadab as a great bowling allrounder for Pakistan.

This kid is special and Pakistan must take care that 'fixers' don't destroy him

This.
Also I think Rohit kept getting out to leg spin during the IPL.

Another Spinner who fields and bats good is Hassan Khan the Quetta Gladiator left arm spinner, Would be a good combo to have for Pakistan.

He has been great in the field except for the match vs India where he was a bundle of nerves. Did well with the ball though. However, he has been extremely underutilized as a batsman so far in international cricket.

Out of the three young all-rounders in the team today (Imad and Fahim the other two), he is the only who I can see playing for Pakistan 5-6 years from now.

Mamoon I think Fahim will come good, His batting is very good. Bowling is also improving atleast he has got decent pace there for an all rounder unlike likes of Anwar Ali who is a nothing player.

Needs bit more accuracy and better seam position. It's unfair to write Fahim off when clearly alot of potential is there. Shadab is clearly special talent though.

Fahim has potential, but it is difficult to hold down to a permanent position unless you justify your selection based on your primary skill. The reason why Shadab looks like a long-term option is because he can make the team on his bowling alone.

Fahim needs to justify his selection with either his batting or his bowling. We have seen very little of him so far, but batting seems to be his stronger suit. However, we should also be wary of the fact that our all-rounders tend to make a good early impression before fading away. Tanvir, Anwar, Bhatti, Imad etc. all looked very good in their first few games before they got exposed.

These Tanvir, Imad, Bhatti.etc looked limited, Fahim looks to have serious potential because he looks gifted batsman with power and timing, And by gifted power and timing I mean not few slogs or fluke type innings like the mentioned players played.

Also the mentioned players don't have pace except Bhatti who was too short and brainless. I think Management needs to show some guys and play Fahim instead of Imad at #7, Ian Chappell was also impressed.

Both Fahim and Shadab should play, They provide value to the team. You are not clear about him considering the recent all-rounders but he looks very good and potentially class above the previous ones.

Agree. Haven't seen a clean striker of the ball like Fahim since perhaps Razaaq.

We haven't seen many glimpses of his batting in internationals but judging from his A team and PSL performances he has ability with the bat. I would like to see him at 7 soon.

Shadab was one of the very few players to emerge with any credit from the shellacking vs India in Birmingham and was unlucky he had a catch dropped off his bowling against Yuvraj.

Yes he lacks control but he's only 18 FGS with barely a handful of FC games to his name, he's still developing and learning.

He is a complete package. We will see his batting potential soon too once he gets chances.
We have potential 4-5 world lass players in the making which is a great sign. Need to back them!

This guy is a super talent .
Whenever he lands the ball on a length he troubles the batsman no matter how good . His needs to keep working on finding the right length once he starts landing it consistently on the right channel he will be incredible.
Havent seen the best of him with the bat either . Huge potential there.

LOVED seeing him demand Sarfraz take the review. He was convinced and credit to Sarfraz to listening.

God this kid will have some pressure over his shoulders, there are three threads here analyzing his every aspect of play.

He's a very good bowler and decent batter above this his fielding is extremely impressive.

It took Pakistan 70 years to produce a world class fielder, he is the first world class fielder from Pakistan, I hope second one does not take that long ;-)

Brilliant catch, one of the very best. Kohli's catch in CT final is also underrated. That was a great catch under pressure.

He's our best fielder.A good batsman and a more than decent bowler

A star in the making Insha Allah.

That Kohli catch is so underrated.

I think no other fielder might have caught it except for Shadab or Fakhar.

He is still performing really well in fielding department but he first must perform with the ball that is his main job in the team.
