[VIDEOS] Talent Spotter : Danish Aziz

“But we’ll make sure we debut him in the next series in South Africa against the likes of Rabada and Nortje in their home conditions”.

Well thats the plan so that Iftikhar can come back in the following series as a saviour.

Today's chase was tailor made for him but we went for tried and tested failures like Asif and Talat

So they picked Hussain Talat in all 3 matches and they never gave this lad a chance.

What a waste of an opportunity.

Wouldn’t we have said the same about Hussain if Danish failed in 3 games with Hussain on the bench? How many changes really can we make every game? They dropped Iftikhar and Khushdil both from the middle order, would you have wanted the entire middle order replaced in one swoop? That’s a recipe for a collapse.

I’m sure Danish will get his opportunity at some point, maybe next series and hopefully in ODIs rather than T20Is where he is more suited to. And he has the opportunity to show his mettle for the Karachi Kings. I hope he can grab that chance with both hands.

41.80 AVG 138.41 SR in T20's but isn't given a single game despite the batting being completely terrible. Unsurprisingly from this terrible PCB staff who didn't give a single game to either Kamran or Saud in the Test matches either.

Hussain Talat has played a whopping 93 innings and has a 31.80 AVG and 125.08 SR. He played in all 3 games and did absolutely nothing. No idea why he is being persisted with.

This, even an idiot can see that this guy gives you a better chance of scoring than Talat but NO we should persist with tried and tested failures.

“But we’ll make sure we debut him in the next series in South Africa against the likes of Rabada and Nortje in their home conditions”.

Yes, exactly this. This was a chance to discover and bed in new talent, just like SA took the opportunity to do. Instead, we stuck with the tried and tested failures. If this was the tour of SA against a full-strength side, I would've understood if he didn't want to gamble on debuting Danish.

Anyway, water under the bridge now, and to be expected from this management. It's up to Danish to step up for Karachi if he gets the chance and force his way into the national side.

A guy with average ability but good game awareness.
He is not the answer.
Imad can fulfill the late middle order and finishing role much better than him in LOI's.

Disappointed that he hasn't been given a chance yet by KK. Needs to get a few good innings in this tournament. According to Misbah's statements regarding him, I fear they may debut him in difficult conditions in South Africa against a very good bowling attack. Not sure if he'll be able to perform then if KK continue to not give him a chance.

Look at how excited some people got over him. This is why I wait until I can watch these guys in international cricket before doing banghra over there performances at domestic level.

What may have been better for the lad is if the selectors and think tank had played him in the home series against South Africa. Who knows maybe with some runs behind him at home, he may have done a little better in the current series.

Currently the weakest link in the batting lineup (alongside asif Ali) he may have time on his side but his presence destabilises the whole batting lineup. I don’t for the life of me understand how he can take the place of Harris sohail or haider Ali for an away tour to south Africa. For sure he should have been inducted in an easier series. Now he will be discarded and we will fail to develop a young player.

Fair enough. Is there any reason why at 25 years old he has only played 9 first class games?

That's one for the Karachi Cricket Association and his team management to answer.

There is no shame in getting out to those 2 balls, they were excellent short balls. What we still don't know is if he has anything

Now that he has been given a chance i think he should still get 1 more series give him a run before you make a judgement on him.but he obviously has weekness against the short ball

Today we are seeing the Danish Aziz that we didn't see for Pakistan.

Brilliant hitting.

31 runs off Wildermauth’s over. Scored 45 runs in 13 balls.

Crazy hitting today, should be batting higher up the order though. There is no reason for Imad and Chadwick to bat before him.

Have seen enough of him already.Couldn't even score against Zimbabwe.A very poor batsman with very poor domestic numbers.

So you expect players to perform straight away in international cricket? Don’t forget it took Babar Azam 16 tests to get settled into the test team.

Not saying he is next coming of Sobers but, it takes time to develop players at international level. Pressure at that level is different and that pressure remains their for a new player whether he plays against a lower ranked team or not.

Key is to give any newly selected player a consistent and a decent run to prove himself before dropping him for the next in line.

Good post also to add to your point, the poor domestic numbers Yasir_ch was referencing are Danish’s FC stats. He actually has a decent record in List A and T20s.

I don’t think anyone see Danish as an option for test cricket so the FC numbers shouldn’t be what he is judged by.

Yeah I get that but he couldn't even touch the ball against Pacers in those series. His balance was poor his feet didn't move short ball troubled him a lot.I don't think he is international material.

Yeah he has decent T20 stats although he has only played 22 innings.I don't think he is international material. He is just gonna be like that poor khushdil Shah.

Seen this tullaybaazi before from likes of khushdil and asif. Play them in pak side and they'll forget how to hold a bat.

I'd put him over the likes of Asif, Khushdil, Maqsood etc bc at least he got proper cricketing shots unlike the hacks from them.

I have zero expectation from Pakistani young taalunted batsmen these days

Perform for at least a year at international level then we can a discussion

Hope this is not a highlight reel. The only thing worse than the “batting” in this clip was the bowling.

Barring the pick-up on the on side most of the slogs were reminiscent of tape ball cricket.

Chitwan Tigers, one of the franchisees of the Everest Premier League, have enrolled Pakistani international cricketer Danish Aziz for the Twenty20 cricket tournament set to be held from September 25 to October 9.

The 25-year-old, who made his One-Day International and T20I debut from Pakistan in 2021, was one of the standout performers in the National T20 Cup — a professional domestic T20 cricket tournament in Pakistan.

"We are excited to host Danish as our overseas player for the new season of EPL. He is touted as the future of Pakistan batting," said Binita Chaudhary Bhattarai, operations director of Chitwan Tigers.

He is the second big name from Pakistan to confirm participation in the EPL after Shahid Afridi. Kathmandu Kings XI have unveiled Afridi as their iconic international star during a live video conference.

The six-team franchise cricket tournament being organised by Zhora Sports Management will take place at the TU cricket grounds.
