[VIDEOS] What's next for Cristiano Ronaldo?

What a reception for CR7, you’d have thought he won the WC. His star power is insane, I think years from now this move will be recognised as being very shrewd

I'm happy for CR5 fans. CR5 found his level.

I hope CR5 and his fans enjoy Al-Habibi and Al-Kebab away.

Literally you do, you dislike CR7 but rather waste your finite god given time in a thread glorifying him. The power of CR7 compels you!

It's called jealousy and insecurity.

:)
Nah, I'm reveling. You don't know how much a WC lifts your mood. Barca being garbage or Messi doing nothing the rest of his career means nothing. My boy conquered football and the world.

Don't need to hear any garbage again from delusional CR5 fans.

Can end it all just by saying -

Put your boys WC medal on the table.

CR7 is so disliked, he has the highest number of IG followers than any other human being on the planet.

:)))

Guess thats what buying bots does hm.

Metrics all worse than Messi's and the majority of the top 10 and 20 posts ever on IG belong to Messi.

Ronaldo's most well liked picture also has Messi in it lmao.

Messi has 3 of the Top 5 IG photos with the 4th being Ronaldo's picture of Messi. Ouch.

Those same bots must be liking Messi's IG photos too!

Hahaha. Brilliant.

Sleep tight.

For sure.

The Arabs in general have realised Sports and stars is a huge worldwide brand, it will always be watched and the money will keep rolling in , maybe not in the short term but defo in the long term.

The biggest boxing fights will take place in the Arab world soon. I think Fury v Uysk is wanted by 3 different Arab nations, the UK has been priced out bigtime. MMA will also grow but football being the biggest sport is their target esp after the best world cup ever in Qatar.

Qatar WC will never be forgotten, for many reasons. The woke West were proven wrong, the Arabs can not just put on a show, but the best show, while sticking to their principles, values, and culture.

Indeed, more and more sporting events will be hosted in the ME, one for money, and 2, a woke free region where everyone can enjoy a safe and amazing experience!

UK is economically toast, it couldn't host a Eurovision contest let alone a WC.

In hate and bitterness, for sure.

Have a good night, though I am sure CR7 must giving you nightmares for stealing the news cycle.

:)))

Sweet dreams.

This will be his last club. After doing it all he's nothing else left to prove. I think he can comfortably afford to retire without worrying about his next job:ht

Messi won the WC but it seems CR7 is still living rent free in so many heads, Messi’s greatness for these people is entirely dependent on discrediting CR7.

Al Nassr deny Cristiano Ronaldo's contract includes deal to back Saudi Arabia World Cup bid

Cristiano Ronaldo's new club Al Nassr say his contract does not include any commitment to back a Saudi Arabia bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

Reports claimed Ronaldo will earn 200m euros (£177m) to promote the bid on top of his annual salary of £177m.

But the club said his deal "does not entail commitments to any World Cup bids".

"His main focus is on Al Nassr and to work with his team-mates to help the club achieve success," they added.

The Portugal captain joined the Saudi-based side as a free agent last month after leaving Manchester United following a controversial interview in which he criticised the club.

He will make his Al Nassr debut on 22 January against Ettifaq but before then could feature in an exhibition match against Lionel Messi's Paris St-Germain.

Saudi Arabia is reportedly considering a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup with Greece and Egypt.

AMUSEMENT PARK IN RIYADH CLOSED FOR 2 HOURS FOR CRISTIANO RONALDO AND FAMILY

An amusement park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was closed for two hours to provide exclusive time to football star, Cristiano Ronaldo and his family.

As the star footballer settles in the Middle East with his family following a lucrative deal of striker with Saudi Arabian FC, Al Nassr, he explores the city with long-time girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and their five kids.

Ahead of his Al-Nassr debut on January 22, the celebrity athlete took out his family to Riyadh Winter Wonderland for some private time. “Quality time with my loves ❤️,” Ronaldo wrote in the Instagram caption as he shared a few glimpses of the adorable family.

On the other hand, Rodriguez also shared several pictures of herself and kids from their time at the theme park and captioned in Spanish, “Riyadh qué bonita eres (Riyadh how beautiful you are).”

The pictures were loved by millions of Ronaldo fans across the globe.

However, what came as a surprise in here was the VVIP treatment given to the Portugal player in KSA. As per a report from a foreign-based publication, the amusement park where Ronaldo visited with his kids was exclusive for the family to enjoy quality time and hence, remained shut to the general public for 2 hours.

Cristiano Ronaldo made his competitive debut for new club Al Nassr in their 1-0 win over Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League on Sunday.

The 37-year-old Portugal forward joined the club last month on a deal that runs until 2025, reportedly earning more than £177m per year.

He led the line and played the entire game in which Brazilian midfielder Talisca scored the winner.

Al Nassr are top of the Saudi league, a point above second-placed Al Hilal.

Ronaldo - who has played for Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid - was greeted by banners and cheers from his adoring fans at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.

It comes after he scored twice in Riyadh All-Star XI's 5-4 defeat by Lionel Messi's Paris St-Germain in an exhibition match on Thursday.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored four times to move past the 500 career league goal mark as Al Nassr beat Al Wehda 4-0 in the Saudi Pro League.

The Portugal forward, who turned 38 on Sunday, struck in a 40-minute period either side of the break.

He has now scored 503 league goals for five different clubs in five different leagues.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner joined Al Nassr in December, reportedly on a salary of £177m per year.

However, he did not enjoy the most prolific of starts with his new employers, managing one goal from the penalty spot in his first three competitive appearances for the club.

Ronaldo left Manchester United in November, having scored 103 league goals across two spells at the club.

He scored 311 times in La Liga for Real Madrid, registered 81 goals in Serie A for Juventus and managed three in the Portuguese top flight for his first professional club, Sporting Lisbon.

Ronaldo's four goals ensured Al Nassr returned to the top of the table on goal difference and with a game in hand on second-placed Al Shabab.

Outstanding, it’s pretty cool Sky show the stream for his games to, gives the league some nice exposure as well

Cristiano Ronaldo has moved out of his £250,000-a-month Saudi Arabia hotel and into his first home in the Kingdom.

The Portuguese star moved to Al Nassr in January and had been living in the Four Seasons, paying the mammoth sum since his move.

Ronaldo was reportedly paying a quarter of a million each month for 17 rooms, across two floors that housed him, his family and his entourage.

One source told The Mirror: “Cristiano and his family have left the hotel they were in.”

He arrived in Saudi Arabia on January 3 to complete his switch to Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United by mutual consent.

That’s around seven weeks – a hefty bill for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, but one he can easily afford with a lucrative £173m contract over two years.

It is not clear where exactly Ronaldo is living although it’s believed to be an exclusive compound with high-level security and easy access to restaurants, shops, gyms and other amenities.

There has been no suggestion that Ronaldo has bought this home, and it could well be the case that he is renting.

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is better man now after 'bad phase' at Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo insists he is a better man after coming through a "bad phase" of his career during his second spell at Manchester United.

The arrival of Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford in the summer saw the Portugal veteran's game time restricted and, as his unhappiness grew so did his frustration, which led to an unauthorised and explosive television interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised the club.

That ultimately led to his contract being terminated by mutual consent and him joining Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.

"I have no problem saying I had a bad phase of my career, but there's no time for regrets," he told a press conference ahead of Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifier against Liechtenstein.

Life goes on and, doing well or not, it was part of my growth. When we are at the top of the mountain, we often cannot see what is below.

"Now, I'm more prepared and learning that was important, because I had never been through this, like in the last few months. Now I'm a better man."

There had been speculation the 38-year-old would bring his international career to an end after the World Cup in Qatar but the arrival of Roberto Martinez as head coach has given him optimism for the future.

"It's a different chapter for all of us. The energies are good, positive, that's the most important thing," he added.

"There's fresh air now, different ideas and mentality."

Cristiano Ronaldo will become the most-capped men's international footballer if he plays in Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifying opener against Liechtenstein on Thursday.

Ronaldo, 38, moved level with Kuwait forward Bader Al-Mutawa on 196 caps when he faced Morocco at the World Cup.

And he is now part of new Portugal manager Roberto Martinez's first squad.

Ronaldo - now playing in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr - has scored a men's record 118 international goals.

There were question marks about his international future after he left the pitch in tears following Portugal's elimination by Morocco at the quarter-final stage.

He has scored nine goals in 10 appearances for Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United in November following a controversial interview in which he criticised the club.

Martinez has said Ronaldo, who made his international debut in 2003, "is very important for the team" and "I do not look at the age".

"Records are my motivation," Ronaldo said on Wednesday. "I want to become the most-capped player in history. That would make me proud.

"But it doesn't stop there. I still want to be called up very often."

Kristine Lilly is the most-capped female footballer of all time, having played 354 times for the United States.

Ronaldo continues to make history

Ronaldo's latest record will further cement his status as one of the greatest footballers of all time.

The Portuguese's glittering career has seen him win seven domestic top-flight titles, 11 other major domestic trophies, five Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups and one European Championship.

The former Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward has also won the Ballon d'Or five times and been named the Best Fifa Men's player twice.

He became the first player to score 800 top-level career goals in November and also holds a host of other men's individual records for both club and country including:

Most Champions League goals (140)
Most Champions League appearances (183)
Most Champions League wins (5)
Only player to score in three Champions League finals
Appeared in most European Championship finals (5)
Most goals in European Championship finals (14)
Most Euro and World Cup final goals combined (22)
Most international goals in world football (118)
The first player to score 10 hat-tricks in men's international football

Excellent. Hope they can lure a big name, would be a huge boost for the league. Saudi should also look go excellent coaches and not just big name players

The Saudi Pro League can become a "top-five league in the world" if they can attract more big-name players, says Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric have been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia and Ronaldo, 38, says they are "very welcome" to join him.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has completed his first season with Al Nassr after joining in December.

He has a contract to 2025 and added he "will continue here" next season.

Paris St-Germain have confirmed Messi will leave the club this summer and the Argentina forward, 35, has a role as a tourism ambassador for Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo's former Real Madrid team-mates Benzema and Modric are also thought to be looking for lucrative moves at the tail end of their careers.

"If they are coming, big players and big names, young players, 'old players', they are very welcome because if that happens, the league will improve a little bit," Ronaldo said in an interview with the SPL.

"The league is very good but I think we have many opportunities to still grow. The league is competitive. We have very good teams, very good Arab players.

"But they need to improve a little bit more the infrastructure. Even the referees, the VAR system, should be a little quicker."

Ronaldo's second stint with Manchester United ended last November when his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

After becoming the only player to score in five different World Cup tournaments, he scored 14 goals in 16 games to help Riyadh-based Al Nassr finish second behind champions Al Hilal.

"I think other small things they need to improve," added Ronaldo, who holds the records for most international goals and appearances.

"But I am happy here, I want to continue here, I will continue here. And in my opinion if they continue to do the work that they want to do here, for the next five years, I think the Saudi league can be a top five league in the world."

The Ronaldo Sajda!

Famed Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored hundreds of goals in his career, invariably celebrates by running to the corner flag to perform his iconic “Siu” celebration – pirouetting in the air before landing in a power stance.

But after scoring a decisive goal for his Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in a 3-2 victory against Al-Shabab, Ronaldo celebrated with a gesture similar to one commonly performed in the Arab country hosting him – a Sajdah, the low bowing or prostration often performed by Muslim footballers after scoring.

After his winning strike – Saudi media are calling it “his best goal since arriving in Saudi Arabia” – Ronaldo took a low bow to the ground, surrounded by his yellow-shirted Al Nassr teammates who cheered him on with the fans in the stadium.

His gesture went viral on social media, spurring a whirlpool of comments from fans across the region.

“Cristiano Ronaldo’s joy with the third goal and his prostration to God in thankfulness,” tweeted Ali Alabdallah, a Saudi sports correspondent, to his 411,000 followers.

“May God guide his heart to Islam,” he said in his caption to the video.

Many others rejoiced at the victory and the accompanying gesture, wishing the star player future success.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to help Al-Nassr win their first Arab Club Champions Cup title despite finishing with nine men after extra time.

The Portuguese forward, 38, played a key role as Al-Nassr came from behind to beat fellow Saudi side Al-Hilal 2-1.
Ronaldo cancelled out Michael's opener before Abdulelah Al-Amri and Nawaf Boushal were sent off for Al-Nassr.

But Ronaldo scored again in the first half of extra time to seal his first trophy since his lucrative move.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick as Al-Nassr picked up their first Saudi Pro League win of the season by beating Al Fateh 5-0.

Former Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the 28th minute with Ronaldo providing the assist.

Ronaldo then scored twice before Mane got his double.

The Portuguese made it five with his third goal deep in stoppage time, after a pass from Nawaf Boushal.

Which players have joined Saudi teams this summer?
It was the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward's third hat-trick for the club.

Al-Nassr are 10th in the 18-team league after three games.

In a commanding 4-0 victory over Al-Shabab, Ronaldo notched two goals from the penalty spot, bringing his total to five goals in four games for the 2023/24 season, accompanied by two assists, Eurosport reports.

This also marked his 30th goal in the calendar year, placing him two goals ahead of Kylian Mbappe and just one behind Manchester City's goal scoring machine Erling Haaland.

In this process, Ronaldo clinched yet another prestigious world record, solidifying his status as the all-time leading goal-scorer in national leagues with a remarkable 517 goals.

Fans claim Cristiano Ronaldo's omission from the 2023 Ballon d'Or shortlist is 'NOT a surprise'

Despite scoring 26 goals in 33 appearances for Al-Nassr, the 38-year-old has been left off the 30-man shortlist for the 2023 Ballon d'Or award.

And, with it being the first time since he's been left off the list since 2003, it's fair to say that some fans were shocked by the news.

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Al-Nassr early after being ruled out for Portugal due to suspension, but has still earned praise from Goncalo Ramos.

Ronaldo will miss Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifier against Luxembourg after picking up a suspension via a yellow card he received in a 1-0 win over Slovakia on Friday. The 38-year-old was, arguably, fortunate not to be sent off after catching his former Manchester United team-mate and Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the face with a reckless lunge. Despite the rash foul, Paris Saint-Germain striker Ramos has praised his veteran international colleague - who has already made his way back to Saudi Arabia to resume club duties at Al Nassr.

Ramos told reporters: "Cris [Ronaldo] always gives great support, he has been with the team until today [Sunday] supporting us and helping in whatever way he can, but at this moment he has already returned to his club."

Iran wants to give Ronaldo a special SIM card to access unblocked internet.

Iran wants to give Cristiano Ronaldo and other foreign football players who will soon travel to Tehran a special SIM card that will allow them to access the internet without restrictions – something Iranian citizens cannot do – which has angered some in Iran.

Reza Darvish, the president of Persepolis FC, the football club that will face Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in an AFC Champions League tie next week in Tehran, told state television on Tuesday that some people “who want to tarnish our reputation” tell footballers not to come to Iran because they won’t have access to unfiltered internet.

“I have spoken with the CEO of [major mobile carrier] Irancell, and I told him we want to give players and personnel Irancell SIM cards with unrestricted internet so they can use it from the time they enter Iran till the time they leave,” he said.

The internet in Iran is heavily restricted, and tens of thousands of websites and all major global messaging and social media platforms are blocked.

Cristiano Ronaldo could face a sentence of '99 lashes for adultery' the next time he visits Iran because of a photo with a painter, according to reports in the country.

Iranian media, as per Mundo Deportivo, have claimed that a large number of lawyers in the country have filed a complaint over the Al-Nassr star due to the picture which was taken in his visit there back in September.

While there, the Portuguese international met Iranian painter Fatima Hamimi, who wanted to give a picture to the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, which she made especially for him.

It's said Ronaldo kissed her on the cheek and gave her a signed shirt, while he also posed for a photo in which he hugs her, which has attracted the ire of Iranian lawyers.

This is because in Iranian law, touching a married woman is equivalent to adultery.

Cristiano Ronaldo Reaches 125 Goals For Portugal With Brace In Win Over Slovakia

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 124th and 125th goals of his senior international career on Friday night.

Ronaldo's brace helped Portugal beat Slovakia 3-2 in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Porto.

That result sealed Portugal's place at next summer's European Championship.

Bruno Fernandes set up Goncalo Ramos to fire Portugal in front before Ronaldo converted a penalty kick in the 29th minute to make it 2-0.

David Hancko pulled a goal back for Slovakia midway through the second half, only for Ronaldo to score again with a tap-in moments later following another Fernandes assist.

Stanislav Lobotka scored brilliantly from long range to set up a nervous final 10 minutes for Portugal, but the 2016 European champions held on for three points.

Ronaldo has now scored seven goals in six appearances for Portugal this year.

Remarkably, 73 of Ronaldo's 125 international goals have come since his 30th birthday.

Ronaldo is not only the leading scorer in international soccer. The 38-year-old's tally of 857 goals for club and country makes him the most prolific scorer in soccer history, period.

Ronaldo's first goal on Friday was his 100th since the start of 2020. He has now scored at least 100 goals in three different decades.

He averaged an incredible 55 goals per year in the 2010s.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal edged a 3-2 thriller against Slovakia in Porto to book their place at Euro 2024.

Ronaldo scored a first-half penalty and a second-half tap-in as the Portuguese made it seven wins from seven matches in Group J. They have 21 points which ensures them a top-two finish. “Cristiano Ronaldo is having a great time, playing a lot of minutes and scoring a lot of goals for his club,” said Portugal coach Roberto Martinez. “He has a lot of experience with the national team and he’s a reference point for young players.”

Ronaldo stepped up to slot home his 124th goal for Portugal in the venue where he scored his first international goal, against Greece in the opening game of Euro 2004. Slovakia came back into the game in the 69th minute when David Hancko’s shot from outside the area deflected off Antonio Silva’s heel and into the bottom corner – the first goal Portugal had conceded in qualifying.

Three minutes later, Ronaldo restored the two-goal advantage tapping in another lovely cross from Fernandes for goal number 125. Ten minutes from time, however, the game was back on as Stanislav Lobotka let fly from outside the area and buried the ball in the top corner.

Cristiano Ronaldo faces $1bn lawsuit over Binance ads

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is facing a class action lawsuit in the US over his promotion of Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world.

The plaintiffs claim his endorsement led them to make loss-making investments.

They are seeking damages of "a sum exceeding" $1bn (£790m).

The BBC has contacted both Ronaldo's management company and Binance for comment.

In November 2022, Binance announced its first "CR7" collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in partnership with Ronaldo, which the footballer said would reward fans "for all the years of support".

NFTs are virtual assets that can be bought and sold, but which have no real-world form of their own - in other words they only exist digitally. Generally, they are used to mark ownership of something, such as a picture or video online.

"CR7" refers to Ronaldo's initials and shirt number, and is used as branding in a range of products, from footwear to fragrances, that have helped make him one of the wealthiest athletes on earth.

In a social media video announcing the partnership, Ronaldo told would-be investors "we are going to change the NFT game and take football to the next level".

The cheapest NFT from the collection was priced at $77 when it went on sale in November 2022 - but one year later, it was priced at about $1.

The claimants allege that Ronaldo's promotion of Binance led to a "500% increase in searches" for the crypto exchange, which is registered in the Cayman Islands.

They also say it led people to use the firm to invest in what they call "unregistered securities" - such as Binance's BNB cryptocurrency.

According to the US Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC), these assets can be considered securities - and so celebrities endorsing them must follow US law.

SEC chair Gary Gensler previously said celebrities must "disclose to the public from whom and how much you are getting paid to promote investment in securities".

"When celebrities endorse investment opportunities, including crypto-asset securities, investors should be careful to research if the investments are right for them, and they should know why celebrities are making those endorsements," he said.

The claimants allege Ronaldo should have disclosed how much he was being paid, but did not.

Nigel Green, boss of consultancy firm DeVere Group, said the problems at the heart of the case went wider than just one footballer.

"It is crucial to recognise that blaming Ronaldo alone oversimplifies a complex issue," he said.

"Instead, attention should also be directed towards global regulators who have been slow to establish clear guidelines for this evolving financial landscape."

Cristiano Ronaldo: Al-Nassr forward marks 1,200th career game with goal and assist

Cristiano Ronaldo marked the 1,200th professional match of his career by scoring one goal and assisting another for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

The 38-year-old tapped in Sadio Mane's cross and later set up team-mate Otavio in a 4-1 win over Al-Riyadh.

Ronaldo thanked all those who have helped him reach the landmark - but added that he was "not done yet".

The Portugal forward is the Saudi Pro League's top scorer with 16 goals in 15 games this season.

Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton is acknowledged as holding the record for the most competitive professional appearances in the men's game with 1,387.

The Saudi Pro League confirmed on social media that Ronaldo had reached the milestone and the player later posted on Instagram: "Three more points! Thankful to all my team-mates who helped me reach my 1,200th match. What a ride, but we're not done yet."

Ronaldo also marked his 1,000th senior appearance with a goal in February 2020, scoring for Juventus in Serie A.

In June, he became the first men's player to make 200 international appearances when he featured for Portugal against Iceland, and he is also the top international goal scorer with 128 goals.

Among his club career appearance records, Ronaldo tops the list for all-time appearances in the Champions League (183), in which he represented Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

He also became the first player in history to score 800 top-level career goals when he surpassed that total playing for Manchester United in December 2021 and has since breached the 850-goal mark.

Al-Nassr remain second in the table, seven points behind leaders Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo shuts down rumour mills on retirement

Ronaldo is turning 39 on February 5 but he has shown no sign of stopping as he has bagged 49 goals this year, just one less than in-form Erling Haaland who has 50.

The former Real Madrid star went from competing with the likes of Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Luis Suarez to the stars of the new generation like Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and others.

It is worth noting that Ronaldo has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus where he created history and became a legend in some time.

Ronaldo played 438 matches with Madrid where he scored a whopping amount of 450 goals, a record that is likely to remain unbeaten, and provided 131 assists.

With Man United, across his two stints, the forward scored 145 goals and provided 64 assists.

In his 21-year-long career, Ronaldo also won the Ballon d’Or, the highest individual award in football, five times and clinched the UEFA Champions League many times as well.

Ronaldo’s longevity took an insane leap as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner played his record 1200th game, taking his illustrious career to a whole new level.

However, despite having played 1,200 matches in 21 years as he made his professional debut with his boyhood club Sporting CP in 2002, El Bicho has no intention of stopping anytime soon and wants to continue playing the game.

Ronaldo bags another accolade, becomes 'most searched athlete' in Google's history

After around a decade-long illustrious career marked with numerous accolades, Cristiano Ronaldo has added another feather to his cap by becoming the "most searched athlete" in Google's history.

After winning five Ballon d’Or awards along with multiple Champions League titles, Ronaldo has now achieved a landmark milestone in the online world by surpassing all other athletes in Google's statistics, reported goal.com.

The 38-year-old footballer took to his Instagram account to post a video of him voicing his iconic celebratory phrase "sui" and expressed gratitude for his triumph in the virtual arena.

"Grateful to be honoured as the most searched athlete in @google history," read the caption on his post.

The achievement is no surprise as the Portuguese star has around 615 million followers on Instagram alone as compared to his long-time rival Lionel Messi whose Instagram account has 495 million followers.

Although both Ronaldo and Messi are often pitted against each other on the pitch quite often, it seems that the Portuguese striker has no comparison when it comes to appealing to the masses.

The Al Nassr star has staunch supporters spread across the globe and is the leading goal scorer in the history of men's football.

In 2023 alone, he has scored an impressive 50 goals — most by any player in this calendar year, surpassing the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, and of course Messi.

At the age of 38, Ronaldo is often subjected to "retirement rumours", however, the Portuguese star is "interested" in completing 250 international matches.

The revelation was made by the Portugal national side's coach Roberto Martinez in an interview with former Arsenal winger Freddie Ljungberg, Sportskeeda reported.

"I said [to Ronaldo] is 200 caps something that interests you or not? He said, '250 interests me'," Martinez said citing his conversation with the star footballer.

Ronaldo completed 200 matches for the national side in a Euro 2024 qualifier match against Liechtenstein — the highest by any player at the international level.

The previous record for the most international appearances was held by Kuwait's Bader Al-Mutawa who featured in 196 games.

However, in order to achieve his goal of 250 matches, Ronaldo will have to play the 2026 World Cup.

Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo clinched another feat by scoring the most goals in 2023, which earned him the Maradona Award for the best goalscorer of the year.

There seems to be no stopping for the Portuguese star as he continues to add to his success individually and for the team throughout his career spanning over 20 years.

The 38-year-old ball player scored 54 goals last year to receive the honour ahead of the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards 2023.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly bought a massive property on Dubai's "Billionaires Island" joining other wealthy residents of the Middle Eastern spot.

The player from Al-Nassr, who possesses an amazing property portfolio spanning several countries, had an amazing 2023 in which he led the world in scoring.

At the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he currently resides, Ronaldo, who earns £175 million a year from the Saudi team, will be recognised for this accomplishment.

The Portuguese footballer reportedly purchased a mansion on Jumeirah Bay Island, also referred to as "Billionaires Island," a private community of wealthy people in Dubai, reported Bloomberg.

According to the report, Ronaldo is expected to receive the extravagant property in 2024. Although the exact details are unknown, it is believed to have cost tens of millions of euros.

For comparison, a separate mansion on Billionaires Island that was up for sale just opened in 2017 and spans 30,000 square metres. It features six bedrooms, private beach access, a showroom large enough to hold seven automobiles, a spa, a swimming pool overlooking downtown Dubai, and on-site staff housing.

The island is referred to as Billionaires Island because there are more billionaires living there per square kilometre than in any other part of the United Arab Emirates. Rich Saudis, Israelis, Indians, and Russians also call the island home.

Cristiano Ronaldo beats Lionel Messi to become player with most fixtures in 21st century

Cristiano Ronaldo reaffirmed his position as when the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) revealed the list of players with the most games played in the twenty-first century.

There is a narrative quality to numbers. Cristiano Ronaldo is not simply writing chapters in the vast story of football. His need for supremacy is causing him to write a whole story according to Essentially Sports.

As he ascended to the throne of the twenty-first century, football players made an appearance—an achievement as significant as his standing. But his victory isn't the only focus of the tale. It tells the story of how the Argentine great Lionel Messi just missed getting to the podium.

With 1204 official appearances, Al-Nassr ace Cristiano Ronaldo is ranked highest on the official list published by the IFFHS. At teams like Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr, and the Portugal NT, the 38-year-old superstar has made a lasting impression.

Ronaldo has travelled a path marked by unflinching perseverance and determination. The Portuguese celebrity's latest achievement demonstrates his extraordinary talent. With an astounding 22 years of straight 52-match seasons under his belt, he is 38 years old and shows no signs of slowing down.

After being long associated with Cristiano Ronaldo in the competition for the top spot, Lionel Messi now finds himself lower on the hierarchy. With 1,047 games played while wearing the jerseys of Barcelona, PSG, Inter Miami, and the Argentine National Team, the Inter Miami star took fourth place on the list.

Cristiano Ronaldo won multiple prizes at Friday's Globe Soccer Awards before admitting in his acceptance speech that he can be "a little bit boring".

Al Nassr striker Ronaldo collected the Best Middle East Player award, beating fellow nominees Riyad Mahrez and Mohamed El Shenawy.

The 38-year-old also won the Maradona Award for being the world's top scorer in 2023 with 54 goals in 59 games for Al Nassr and Portugal.

He was beaten by Erling Haaland to the Best Men's Player award but Ronaldo still made it a hat-trick of gongs by picking up the Fans' Favourite Player of the Year award.

Ronaldo appeared to be slightly underwhelmed when his name was called and he was revealed to be the winner of the Best Middle East Player award.

He certainly failed to match the enthusiasm of the on-stage presenter, who gave him a cringeworthy introduction.

Cristiano Ronaldo says he will retire from football 'soon', before dropping a hint at a retirement date... but it's still a LONG way off despite him turning 39 next month!

The Al-Nassr forward was asked about when he planned to hang up his boots in Dubai, where is is attending the Globe Soccer Awards.

Ronaldo initially claimed he will retire 'soon', before the football legend cheekily suggesting he can remain at the top of the game for a while yet.

'The moment I finish, I don't know to be honest,' Ronaldo said.

'Of course it will be soon, soon I mean 10 years more.

'No I am joking, I don't know, let's see.'

Obscene gesture by Cristiano Ronaldo stirs controversy

Cristiano Ronaldo has come under heavy criticism after seemingly making an offensive gesture following Al Nassr’s 3-2 victory over Al Shabab in a Saudi Pro League match on Sunday.

Footage posted on social media appeared to show the five-time Ballon d’Or winner cupping his ear and repeatedly thrusting his hand forward near his pelvis, seemingly aimed at rival Al Shabab supporters, after the match.

In the background, chants of “Messi” could be heard. Argentina star Lionel Messi is Ronaldo’s longstanding soccer rival.

While the incident was not captured by television cameras, criticism of the 39-year-old Portugal striker has been swift and local media reports say that the Saudi football federation (SAFF) has opened an investigation.

He could face a suspension, potentially jeopardizing his availability for Al Nassr’s next match — against Al-Hazem on Thursday.

Ronaldo, who completed a lucrative move to the Riyadh-based club in December 2022, has a league-leading 22 goals this season. His latest came against Al Shabab when he opened the scoring with a first-half penalty before Brazilian Talisca’s late double — including a goal four minutes from time — secured the win for Al Nassr.

Al Nassr trails fellow big-spending rival Al Hilal by four points, having played a game more.

Al Nassr is also in contention for the Asian Champions League — a tournament it has never won — and will play Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates in the quarterfinals next month.

Cristiano Ronaldo sent off for Al-Nassr in Saudi Super Cup defeat to Al-Hilal

Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off for elbowing an opponent during his side's 2-1 Saudi Super Cup semi-final defeat by Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo, 39, was shown a straight red card on 86 minutes after appearing to swing his elbow twice into the chest of Ali Al Bulayhi, who fell to the floor.

The Portugal international then appeared to raise his first towards the referee before leaving the field.

It is Ronaldo's first red card since his move to Al-Nassr in December 2022.

Al-Nassr were trailing 2-0 at that stage after goals from Salem Al-Dawsari and Malcom, with former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane pulling one back in stoppage time.

Three-time winners Al-Hilal will play Al-Ittihad in the final on Thursday.

Al-Ittihad beat Al-Wehda 2-1 in their semi-final earlier on Monday thanks to goals from former Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema and Morocco forward Abderrazak Hamdallah.
