Who cares bro I thought Imran khan came atleast cricket will get better and he gives his bridari 2 of the biggest positions in the cricket board coach and chairman. Misbah is a niazi too. And Imam well man Pakistani batsmen have always played slowed the ones that try to be aggressive get out below double figures 9/10 times like Fakhar. Imam is more than decent but his attitude does **** me off but why should we care about his attitude he’s been in the team in Merrit holds one end together doesn’t let the team collapse

It does not always work like that. Some players are early boomers, some are late bloomers. It took Rohit Sharma around 5 years to come good, there was lot of frustration among fans. Yet BCCI stuck with him and he eventually came good.
If a young player has shown potential then he should be groomed and backed by the board. I am not sure about the player you are talking about, since I have not watched him play. However, the same logic applies to him as well.

I like his batting actually. Safe and secure. Perfect for building a foundation.
His gritty temperament makes sure that even with the team in trouble or with 2-3 quick wickets, the boundaries and runs don't stop. He's a little slow at the start but once set doesn't stop the flow of runs. Also he's got good shots against fast bowlers.
His on-drives against the likes of Starc and Rabada during the WC were a treat to watch.

You seem to hate him a lot, honestly you do not have better openers in domestic. You have tullers like Khurram Manzoor who score soft runs and then talk about how well they perform in domestic and are not selected in the national side.
Most of the people hate his attitude, attitude is necessary in the field and defines how tough (mentally) a player is. Most of the people used to hate virat Kohli as well (due to his attitude) but his bat speaks loud for him. Imam has scored some pretty good runs for Pakistan, yes he needs to improve the strike rate, however, recently his strike rate was well over 80 which is not too bad (which also tells me that he is improving).
Pakistan Team is not a team for likes and dislikes, if someone performs he must be backed, if you don’t like him because of his attitude then you need to get checked by a doctor.

I didn't like Imam much when he started, was against his selection and called nepotism, but he has proven most of us wrong. He has also shown good mental toughness and there is no reason to criticise his selection anymore. It's fine to criticise his batting but not his selection.
I reckon he will be among the best openers in ODI and Test cricket in the next 5 years. It will be easier on test cricket because there isn't much competition (hte best perporming openers these days are Karunaratne and Latham), but it will be a lot more difficult in ODIs with the likes of Warner, Sharma, Finch and Roy to beat. But these guys have clear weaknesses (Roy against spin, Rohit against the swinging ball).

Probably should be the fourth opener, behind Sami Aslam, Shan Masood and Abid Ali.
He’s still done better this last year outside Asia than Azhar Ali though.
My fear is that Misbah won’t recall Sami Aslam but rather will go with Salman Butt, which would be the same short-termist failure to invest in the future.

I could never understand the hype surrounding Imam. Also everyone makes a meal out of his WC performance because of that dead rubber ton against Bangladesh in the last game. You take away the runs he had made in that game, he had a very poor tournament.
Like ZamanFan said, he shouldn't be playing for the A team because he cannot negotiate bounce and I'd also add his inability to deal with half decent spin bowling.
The reason I dislike him is because of his sense of entitlement. Who can forget, "I'm automatic selection" and it was only a few days ago when we saw this:

We have invested 11 game in him playing against anderson broad starc philander Cummins Hazelwood rabada steyn in their conditions first up.
People don't come into a team and start averaging 50 from day 1 of their career.
We cant drop him now, he should get this series at the least.

People are acting like he's the first ever p*rchi to play for Pakistan. There have been many before and there will be many after but at least this "p*rchi" has performed.
They (the public) should only be concerned with the results and the runs he scores not how he got into the team, it's none of their concern. I blame Tanveer Ahmed for this, the guy couldn't do anything for himself, now he wants to act like a savior for other people.
It's saddening
He is a p@rchi player for sure but its not that he has no talent. Pakistan has played p@rchi players with no talent before but now public want equality.

Imam was selected into team based on family connection. Has had moderate sucsess in ODIs snd a failure in tests, yet acts like hes a world beater. His arrogance at times when interviewed doesnt help either. So its obvious why hes not liked.

The only way Imam can turn this hate around is if he starts performing consistently like Babar. It's unlikely given that he doesn't possess half the ability of Babar, so he will forever be tainted by association with Inzamam.
The problem is not just nepotism though, it's his distasteful persona and sense of entitlement off the field as well. Compare and contrast with Shan Masood, who was another player picked on the back of knowing the right sort of people, but his commitment and dedication off the field has allowed many fans (including myself) to recognize his value to the team.
