Not exactly what I had in mind in a "different" Fakhar Zaman

Can someone please explain to me why this guy just stands there as if he has been shot??? every friggin time he gets out?
You played a pathetic shot, just leave dude!
Soumya Sarkar does the exact same thing as well.
“Show me one player in Pakistan team except for Babar Azam, who regularly scores in every game,” said Fakhar. “I play T20s which is already a high-risk game. As an opener, you expect me to play at a higher strike rate, so I try to play my shots and when you play too many shots, you can get out. However, I am trying my best to correct the flaws in my batting, so I can counter the plans that other teams have prepared for me.”

Not a good statement from Fakhar. Instead of trying to compete at international level and accepting his mistakes, he is taking comfort in the failures of others around him. It is attitude like this that stopped Umer Akmal and Shehzad from reaching their potential. If Fakhar has started thinking like them then his career will also end up like them.

Imam is not a hack (but you can argue that he is not good for Lois) ahsan is several levels below him as a player and fakhar is a mess technique wiseHe’s right tho. Fakhar is way better than the hacks that replaced him-Imam and Ahsan.
There was no justification in dropping him and he is the 2nd best bat after Babar.
Abid, Imam, Haris, Shadab, Iftikhar. Fakhar is proving to be a "Main na Manoon" guy. He need to shut up and work hard to improve his performance or quietly give his place to Haider or Hurraira.
Hurraira is technically correct haider is more in the fakhar range as in power hitting

Fakhar Zaman opening here vs England in the 2nd T20. Due a big score for a long time.
I thought he looked good today after a shaky start.
But why play that stupid shot straight after hitting a wonderful six.
Absolutely no need to play such a ridiculous shot.
FZ is an asset for PAK LO - even if he doesn’t fire, guy won’t waste ball which top orders like Imam & Shahzad are master at. He fields well, very committed and under utilised with ball. I think, instead of trying to fix him (which will complicate his acts) PAK should try to maximise his few years left in cricket, letting him do it in his own way.
His technique is so bad that there is no chance of him scoring runs against a top bowling attack unless the bowlers have a complete off-day.
Even if they bowlers do a decent job, he is a sitting duck.
He is a luxury player and I don’t think a dreadful team like Pakistan can afford such luxury in Tests and ODIs.
He is fine for T20Is though.

Looks like Fakhar still hasn't found his form yet. Golden duck today.
out for 68 off 34 deliveries - just needs a good few hundreds under his belt which he isnt getting.
finally a different Fakhar? Let's see.
Gets a lot of hate but is one of the most dynamic batsmen that’s played for us over the last two decades.
He has a great temperament and in a short career has won us matches in every format. The brilliant century against India which single handedly changed our performance against them and won us a trophy. The great innings in the T20 tri-series final against Australia chasing a huge score after early losses. And my favourite is the splendid test counter attacking innings against Australia after we had collapsed, which helped save/ win the series.
What you notice about those games is that he’s stood up when the stakes are high and when we needed him.
I don't understand the fuss over his technique. Dhoni also had horrendous technique. He did great as a finisher in ODIs. He played ball in gaps, ran hard between wickets and slogged over mid wicket. As long as Fakhar can do the role is team expects him to do, why bother?
Not until he does it regular and plays both sides of the wicket
Agreed! I think he will always be a hack, but would love to be proven wrong.
He once said his technique is good enough and later said he needs to work on his technique.hes had enough opportunities need to perform consitantly and work on his technique
So true Shamaan, I think Grant Flower once said that he just does not listen.
This is why I've had a soft spot for Fakhar Zaman - he has a knack of stepping up in finals and crunch games which shows a mental toughness.
Scored five fifties in this tournament, hopefully a much needed confidence boost.
Yet you fail to realize the fact he's not even facing 30% competitiveness of an international match.
This domestic harmless bowling is not going to stop his hacking. It hides his flaws only from the untrained eye or those who don't know his caliber against international-class bowling.
He can score as many fifties against harmless trundlers but can guarantee he'll fail vs. any half decent international team.
All have now worked him out. Novelty s gone.

Another 50 and this time in the final. He surely loves knockout matches. Seems to have adjusted his technique as well a bit.
Let's put it this way, the likes of Starc, Bhumrah, Bolt, Ferguson, Rabadda are not going to give him easy freebies as he got in this domestic tournament. His blind hacking will not work against these bowlers who will exploit his technical flaws and predictable hacks, hitting range

His stats paint a different picture though.
This is his odi stats against England, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.

Bhumrah and Bhuveneshwar exposed him in the 2018 Asia Cup by tieing him up and not giving him any freebies, he had no answers. The short ball is a big weakness which the South African's exploited. The Australians knew that he likes to play aerial shots and placed fielders accordingly.
