Some people were under the delusion that Fakhar will cross 500 runs mark in the world cup. No batsman has been this badly exposed in recent times.

Guys did you really see the wicket ? it was unplayable for first 10 overs and the way Joffa Archer bowled he could have troubled any batsman in the world.
It wasn't unplayable, it was difficult but if you can stop fishing outside off stump you can survive the new ball.
Lol yes but then everyone in this forum would say that you're playing too slow.
Hope We will see that new Fakhar Zaman in world cup.
Yesterday he score 3 (11) with 26 strike rate.
Is this the new Fakhar? another dot ball king ?
Footwork is the problem.
He bats at times as if his feet are in cement - this will work in places like UAE but not when the ball is moving around.

Hack, minnow basher and lucky to be in the team. If only we had Shehzad opening with Imam.

)Our fans get excited very quickly. This is not a different Fakhar and neither is this a career-defining one. He obviously did well, but England failed to target his weaknesses - almost 80% of his runs came on the leg-side.
With no Archer and Wood in the side, England don't have a lot of pace and bounce. If the likes of Woakes, Willey, Plunkett and Stokes etc. keep bowling to him on the leg-side, he will hit them all day long. Ultimately, it took a wide delivery on the off-side to get him out.
England were pretty casual with their bowling today, they didn't expect Pakistan to come out all guns blazing. Other teams will probably do their homework on Fakhar in the World Cup so we should expect Asia Cup and South African tour type performances from him.
Brillian innings today and unlucky to get out like that.
Only criticism would be a lack of runs on the off side, but that was largely due to England trying to cramp him up.
Of course.
Even with all of that, still much better and useful, impactful than Imam ul Haq.
All we need is someone better to partner Fakhar.

Our resident Indian supporter will be here shortly to explain.
Fakhar Zaman is one batsman in Pakistan line up who I would not talk to regarding changing his game. He is the only modern era player in our team who once gets going can take the game away very quickly
Pathetic batsman
Can only score on belters even then needs a lot of luck.

Singling him out for today's performance when he was arguably the most unlucky![]()
You really can’t please some people.
To get busy players who play at a decent strike rate you will need them to take risks.
Fakhar has been remarkably consistent for our standards and is arguable the most important player in our team.
True, the shot today was frustrating and he should have kicked on. But the posts in this thread make it seem like he’s a terrible player who should be dropped.
With Dhawan and Roy injured, he would easily make the two best batting teams as the second opener. And yet posters here think he’s not good enough for Pakistan ...
He is not making either team. They have way too players who will make the team ahead of hacks like Fakhar.
And taking risks is not the same as giving catching practice to the other team. That was probably the worst shot of the WC, no matter how many excuses people come up with it.
