[VIDS/PICS] "My 2nd innings (after retirement) is in preparation for the next life" : Misbah-ul-Haq

"My first innings was purely for this world and this life, but my second innings (after retirement) as a Muslim and a human is in preparation for the next life" : Misbah-ul-Haq speaking at a charity function at a downtown Chicago masjid during/after Friday prayers. He was there to raise funds for a children hospital that he is brand ambassador of.

Classy as always, love him or hate him you can't deny that he's a 'nice guy' at his core :salute:

Naah, has too much sense and knowledge to not the get into that. Misbah should follow IK's path he has good leadership qualities which is rare in Pakistan.

Lets not comment on his personal beliefs etc - stick to what he's doing.

Very judgmental of you to say that. What’s wrong with doing tableegh? I admit I won’t do it but I don’t judge those either who do.

Guys stay on topic.

Very underrated. Very very underrated. He's our most successful test captain.

Great role model for young Pakistani cricketers - as a player on the field who tried to make the most of his ability and the privilege of playing for his country , as a captain who always showed calmness and treated all with respect , and never got into any controversy playing in an era with so
many controversies in Pakistan cricket like spot fixing saga, a real gentleman and professional.

Guys stay on topic.
Bhai it is on topic as to what he will be doing post retirement.

He is a gem of a guy, love him to death. One of the most under rated servants of our cricket, a true hero. I understand every person is different and we all have our own priorities but a guy like him, educated, mature, level headed and honest, he could be of a lot more use to us in a number of different capacities. He could help run PCB or be in charge of helping develop our grassroots cricket ... (look at what Dravid is doing for India) or he could help PM Khan with some initiatives in politics.

He has undergrad degree in Physics and Math and an MBA. He is no average former cricketer. There is a lot of potential under that surface.

He can tuk tuk and bore the hell out of anyone he wants after retirement as long as it is not on the cricket pitch and most importantly in Pakistan's colors.

He is a good soul and really want to do something for his people.

Interestingly i never had a chance to meet him in Pakistan after all these years but recently i ended up meeting him inside Jannat ul Baqi (Madina) when i was in Saudi for Umrah.

Did anyone even bother watching the video? Some of the replies here certainly make it look like that's not the case.

Had a few minutes of chat with Misbah on the topic of this children’s hospital and in general yesterday after his speech.

Wonderful gentleman to talk to!

Please contribute to this cause. I did.

Lovely man.

He is so humble, likeable and respectful to everyone.

Had the pleasure of meeting Misbah many times and my respect for him just increases.

A likeable guy for sure. Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do with the rest of his life.

MashaAllah, what a guy! He wasn't a very entertaining cricketer but had been one of my favourites since the 2007 WT20. May Allah allow him to continue doing good.

Future head-coach material as well, in my opinion.

Great ambassador too for Pakistan.

I've spoken with many English journos and they always state how impressed they always have been with Misbah.

A smart cricketer. I would've liked to have him as team director after world cup. Best of luck in his new journey.

It is great to see him fundraising for an important cause.

Yes, Misbah is definitely respected and admired outside Pakistan. Surprisingly, Afridi is not rated much or admired outside Pakistan.
