most of them look like runaway criminals

well most of the Pakistani cricketers(past and present) are known for their criminal-like behavior....both on and off the field....no prizes for guessing those players

I did not ask for who is a known criminal. I asked who looks like a criminal. May be ICC can use your formula to catch those look-like criminals before they are known criminals.

Brilliant thread.

Who is the guy on the right in the picture with Imran, Wasim and Waqar in post 336?

i feel homesick when i see these vintage pics..wish i could time travel and stay in that era where men didnt wax their chests..those bushy mustaches and those thick sideburns.. just pure testosterone.

akher, thanks for posting. Really nice pics! :)

The Imran birthday picture is a gem......

Anybody know who these 3 players are from that pic?

^I'd like to know who they are too!

Talking of Imran Kha, future PM of Pakistan deserves a whole thread <3 but here some

In 1980

With the great English all-rounder Ian Botham ; was some sort of 'rivalry' between them

Was a favourite of the press in the UK back then

A bit different from London ; in the tribal areas

In the beautiful Gilgit Baltistan, having a stimulating discussion with a little kid, and God only knows how many children of his age can thank Imran for SKMH

With Javed Miandad and another magician, Abdul Qadir, the man who revived leg spin in Test cricket and was rated as Viv Richards himself as the best spinner he ever faced.

O wow.... fantastic pics specially with that Baltistani kid! Amazing pic!
Thanks again!

Keep them coming! :)

Imran's shirt says " Big boys play at Night", ironic isnt it

You did not notice kerry Packer logo ...who started night cricket. Look at the letter "I" in night..... it is stumps and cricket ball.... with WSC (World Series Cricket) under the letter "I". Just in case you did not know, Imran played for Kerry Packer's W.S.C.

I know about Kerry Pecker but was referring to some other games Imran was famous for playing at night at that time

Sarfraz Nawaz

Saleem Jaffar (said to be the 'Irfan Pathan' of his era... huh : p)

Abdul Qadir... magician!

61.jpg

Waqar Hasan

37.jpg

Pervez Sajjad

Pervaizsajjad.jpg

Rashid Khan

82.jpg

Qasim Umar, a talented opening batsman who didn't live up to his talent (as it always happens in Pak!)

1345.jpg

Shahid Mahmoob, bowler who could bat but unfortunately had to have his Test debut on some India's flat road

1253.jpg

Mohammad Farooq, who was to be said a 'genuine' fast bowler

1296.jpg

Nasim ul Ghani, all rounder who "...holds the world record for the youngest person to get a 5 wicket haul in Test cricket aged 16 years 303 days following his 5-116 against West Indies in 1958"

55.jpg

Imran khan looks stylish in anything he does..he can be making an omelette in the kitchen and still look more stylish than adonis.

Thanks W63L35... and can I post pictures from the late 80s-mid 90s ? Not 'vintage' per se.

Is pic # 31 Mansoor Rana (post # 335)?
Yes. :)

Abosolutely!!!! Please do. In fact, if you go through last few pages of this thread, most of the pics are newer pics. Plus, it is a pblic forum, you can post your pictures if you want!

You have posted some fantastic pics ... keep them coming! :)

:))) but true!

He has played test cricket for Pakistan and it's not a vintage picture, it's an easy one

Another easy one,,, but look at Javed. It seems like as if he has some tight looking girl up his sleeve and he is trying to make others jealous. I think he must be looking at Imran Khan who is out of the frame.

Mohammed Akram, our most recent bowling coach, was said to have the pace but not the control and couldn't get in during the double Ws era anyway ; love the aggression in this picture :rambo:

Mohammed Zahid, world's fastest bowler EVEEER

Shahid Nazir, now forgotten but a more-than-decent swing bowler

Mohammad Wasim, a promising batsman... back then

Ijaz 'The Butcher' Ahmed, who once destroyed India LOL (search for " Ijaz Ahmed 139* off 84 balls vs India, 9 sixes! 1997", thanks to robelinda)

Why does Wasim Raja always look angry.

The smooth operator was probably already polishing his Anglisch and his brother was probably his first experiment. :raja

Found one tho' where he seems happy

Knew posting :afridi was a bad idea.

I think, it is Azeem Hafeez. I saw his interview on TV the other day! :P

Look at picture #2 in post #1 in this thread.

really great thread akheR and w63. great looking at these old pics. i have new found respect for sikander bakht, really smooth operator.

Sensational thread !

:imran is just class. He looks good all the time, regardless of the situation he's in. Even today at his age, he's still classy better looking then a lot of people.

Some great photos in this thread...thanks to all who have contributed :)

Picture # 19

Asif Masood was said to have a really 'special' action for a fast bowler

He used to begin his run-up with a backward step before a loping approach to the wicket which John Arlott likened to "Groucho Marx chasing a pretty waitress".

1616.jpg

^looks like :sarfraz same stature and a nice moustache

Found a very rare picture..............from 1976-1977

After their world record first wicket partnership Waheed Mirza and Mansoor Akhtar pose with Hanif Mohammad;

Mansoor Akhtar

114.jpg

Hanif Mohammad, 'Little Master', legend

36.jpg

His brothers : Sadiq & Mushtaq in 1971, left and right respectively.
Mushtaq esp. was a damn talented all rounder, has some records but the fact that he averages 40 with the bat and -30 with ball (he was a leg-spinner) in Test cricket is already telling.

The two, Hanif and Mushtaq, together

Taslim Arif, for 20 years held the record of the HS by a WK in Tests (210* vs Australia)
