The positive part for India is that they have 4 really very good players in LOIs now.

Kohli, Rohit, Manish and Rahul..
 
KING for a reason. The joy he brings to our nation. Motivates all youngsters to work hard and achie e their dreams. I am pumped up.

These are ridiculous numbers. One of the few batsmen who performs better under pressure vs while setting
 
So so amazed by Kohli’s reemergence- especially since this time last year so many Indians had written him off. Infact there were many on this forum itself who didn’t want Rohit and Kohli playing in this WC - but look at them now lording over others. Fans like me who never gave up on Kohli would now feel so vindicated.

So good to see him now lead the WC batting charts

You would have been all over the forum like termite on wood if the fake king was racking up hundreds.

At least you have finally realized that Babar never was and never will be comparable to Kohli.
 
Kohli is one of the best players to have played the game. Home or away (but especially home) he’s a true giant of the game and very hard to bowl to. Today was a masterclass in how to soak up pressure and execute a chase against a very good bowling attack. The only chink in the armour is when the ball offers sideways movement but in a flat deck he’s almost impossible to get out.

I don’t know who in their right mind can compare babar to Kohli. Babar is a good Pakistani batsman…ok the best in Pakistan but that’s about it.

Many commentators like to talk up babar to be polite and nice but we all know Kohli has no equal, at least on flat decks.
 
Kohli operating on a different level to everyone this WC, what a titan. The undisputed king of the chase

Babar is better

Kohli's peak in ODIs was from 2014 to 2019.
During this time, the 3 most important ODIs India played:

2015 WC Semi-final vs Australia
2017 CT Final vs Pakistan
2019 WC Semi-final vs New Zealand

ALL 3 WERE RUN CHASES

And Virat got out on single figure in all 3 matches.

Chase master? Lol only good in winning useless bilateral series and group matches of ICC events.
When it matters the most in knockout matches, he is nowhere to be seen

What's the point of reaching knockouts when you will lose anyways? And the "chasemaster" and the "hitman" are going to embarrass themselves again

Whatever I wrote is fact, however the replies I got were sarcasm. Goes to show who is right

Indian fans should leave hero worshipping and demand there cricketers to perform in knockouts or be dropped altogether

Its embarrassing for a 1.4 billion country- a one sport country to have not won a SINGLE ICC event in 10 years

Yuvraj is better than Kohli. The justification Gautam Gambhir gives is spot on.

Yuvraj was the main player in India winning 2 World titles. How many has Kohli won? He hardly contributed in the 2011 World Cup and has not won A SINGLE t20 World Cup even after 5 attempts. Always flops in knockouts.

You stated facts with respect to kohl's failures on 2015 & 2019 semi final. 2011- kohli scored a good contribution of 35 building a partnership in the final.

Teams win tournaments not individual players. He has single handedly won t20 2014 semis, 2016 t20 virtual quarter final against Australia. If my memory serves right, at least player of the tournament in two t20 world cups.

Kohli has a great chance to equal yuvraj/gambhir in 2023 worldcup.

Sachin and Lara were always considered in the same league while Aravinda de Silva won 1996 semis and final single handedly . Knock out performance is not the sole criteria of defining batting greatness. Lets re-visit kohl's performance in 2023 knock outs after 2023 semis.

Doesn't matter. Kohli is levels above any Pakistani batsman ever in ODI cricket.

Including Babar :)
 
When Sachin was still playing and for a for couple years until the heartburn reduced, Dravid/Ganguly was the better player.

For Kohli, it's Yuvraj or ironically even Sachin :rp.


But not Rohit or anyone currently playing.

You forgot to mention that he was top scorer in CT 13 final and took India to a defendable score.
Top scorer of T20 2014 final too 77(58). It was gem of an inning but didn't get any support from other batsman and India lost in the end.
He has contributed well in the finals of last two ICC trophies India won.

But ignore the haters, as @Hitman mentioned above, you can't wake up a person pretending to be asleep.

Gautam Gambhir is right. India is a country obsessed with cricketers and not cricket.

You are just proving that point. How do you Indians even tolerate someone who has failed multiple times in ICC knockouts and only scores in useless bilaterals.
I know how: by calling him king

Personally I enjoyed the 90's Pakistan superstars and their mercurial style of play. wasim,waqar,inzy,shoiab,saeed Anwar etc

This guy talks of Indians hero worshipping. Yet Pakistan is the country that made a cricketer their PM when his only apparent political nous was being a great cricket captain and his ability to raise funds to build a hospital.
