Won't do him no good on June 18, he's going to get dismissed cheaply to Junaid Khan who has an impeccable record against him in head-to-head encounters, the reason he got away in the first game against us was due to absence of Junaid which won't be the case this time around. I predict his dismissal in 12 balls at most if he faces Junaid in PP overs on Sunday.

Wow by that logic India will win as India has an impeccable record against Pakistan in ICC tourney knockouts.

You can make whatever prediction you want. We all know what's going to happen. Kohli is due a ton. He will score big against Pakistan. My prediction is 168(134) if India bat first or else 132*(118).

76 stirke rate and that too after playing mostly against minnows, the most pathetic batsman to come out of India

He's a quality and compact batsman from what I've seen, don't know why he is so underrated by Indians.

I expected Smith to average over 50.

He is too good a player. Will get there soon.

Because Indian have very high standards when it comes to batting, and no rayudu shouldn't have played even a single international for the Indian team

Possible but anomalies are bound to happen. You can't discount Pakistan in finals, they'll be up for a fight this time to redeem themselves for previous loss, Indians won't get away that easily, expect a counter punch in all departments of game.

He has already done that against BD, law of averages state that you can't put up big scores consistently, so naturally a failure is around the corner and it may well happen in the game against us due to presence of Kohli's nemesis in the form of Junaid who has owned him everytime they confronted each other, it won't be any different this time.

Pakistan were underdogs against India in all recent encounters, still they succumbed to pressure. Now knowing they have a real chance of beating India, don't expect them to cope with the enormous amount of extra pressure and expectations.

He hasn't scored a hundred in this tournament. He was 96 not out against Bangladesh, 80* against Pakistan, 82* against SA. Brace yourselves, a big hundred is coming up.

This is based on a tournament on pitches were teams could not score over 150 runs in an innings

The list lost a major chunk of it's credibility by having Ambati 'biryani' rayadu among top 10. :afridi

Doesn't matter, century or not, he has been piling them up consistently so far and he's due a failure, it may just happen that the law of averages catches upto him in the game against Pakistan and he flops big time.

Junaid Khan had one good series against Kohli in 2013. Get over it. Kohli has scored 4000 runs at an average of 60+ including 14 centuries since that series.

I'm pretty confident they'll cope with the pressure and burden of expectations this time around, you guys had the upper hand for far too long winning too many games in the recent past against us, its time to tilt the balance and I think this is the perfect opportunity for Pakistan to beat India with their boosted morale after the victory against England.

He'll get knocked over pretty quickly the moment he faces Junaid, enough said. Only chance he has of surviving is if Junaid gets injured and misses the game somehow. Other than that I don't see him surviving 2 overs in the middle when confronted with Junaid.

Numbers are meaningless, it won't save him from the wrath of Junaid come June 18.

CT2013 me Junaid was getting beaten like a spinner

Only two current Pakistani are in the list Babar Azam and Haris sohail

Second only to Viv.

Viv was a different beast altogether and his level will NEVER be reached no matter good you are. While Kohli is very good, the next best players are not far behind - Sir Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards was a 100 years ahead of his contemporaries.

Doesn't matter. He's no where near as good as past legends. Look at average scores these days. No wonder he has highest average lol.

Just as Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Marshall, Ambrose, Hadlee are not good enough as Starc, Hazlewood, Rabada right? The bias is hilarious

I think the bare minimum average these days is 50. Every tom, dick, and harry averages that. The pitches, low quality bowling, bigger bats are all responsible. Nothing to take away from the achievement. But the stats need to be taken with a spoon of salt.

How is that the bare minimum when if you increase the sample size to 50 matches literally only 4 current batsmen average 50 or above?

Amla, ABD and Kohli are not tom, dick and harry. Let Babar Azam play for 150 ODIs and see where he stands.

Best ODI batsmen of this era. And my favourite player in world cricket today.

Didn't he score a duck against SL. That probably makes up for his failure of the tournament.

,,Didn't Dhoni beat the crap out of ,Junaid lol kohli has bossed far superior bowlers

Unfortunately, he still cannot play swing and seam. If the ball moves even a few centimetres, he's edging it to the keeper or slips.

Huh? AB, Amla, Kohli, Dhoni and Babar are the only ones that average 50+ from the current players. It is a big achievement and credit where due, Kohli has done extremely well to average this much after 180 ODIs.

We are talking about ODIs here. which pitch has swing these days? if so, how often you see such pitches?

if Kohli cant play swing, how about babar and other Pakistani batsmen? if Kohli is a flat track bully, what do you call for Pakistani batsmen? tailenders.

He must get his runs audited
....they look very low...should be more than that...guy is a beast

I gave credit to them for doing that. Babar had an exceptional season where he looked unbeatable. Dhoni piled up his not outs and boosted his average. AB can average a lot more if he batted up the order. Amla is genuinely good. Kohli padded his stats on flat tracks. Guys like Root, Smith, KW, etc will average over 50 and that number will eventually lose it's sheen.

Babar's average drops from 54.19 to 42.73 if you exclude the WI.

And why would you exclude WI? Aren't they a cricket team? Exclude all 8 countries and his average will be 0. Happy now?
Just pointing out a lot of his runs have come against the WI, yet to truly have a great impact against other teams.

Top 10? :))

Dude is easily top 2, he has surpassed Tendulkar and Ponting.

I meant if he literally retires today, his career is top 10. I think in terms of accomplishments and longevity (not ability), Viv, Tendulkar, Bevan, Ponting, AB, and a few others have had better overall careers simply as a fucntion of length.

But it doesn't matter. Kohli will soon surpass them all. He has already won a CT for India with 2 great innings in semi and final in 2013, and this time he has had a great tournament too. All he needs is one big innings in WC knockout and he will be the GOAT.

Just 8000 runs are not enough to surpass Sachin who has feats like the only series win by India in Australia where he scored in both the finals of best of three

Kohli is already a better match winner than Sachin ever was.

Not anymore. Improved his record this year.

Also, you're forgetting how great AB is as well in the list above. Need to stop having those double standards - AB is as good as they come in tournaments.

Except when it counts :ab

Will end up the greatest cricketer to ever play for India if he keeps this up until he retires and if he wins India a World Cup as captain.

He will replace Sachin for me then as he is the greatest match winner to ever hold a bat, poor Sachin had awful teammates in the 90s.

You don't need a 50 averaging player in today's age if he strikes @ 76. You'd rather be better off with a player who averages 40 but strikes at 85-90 or 35 at 100+
