He can call him a night-watchman for all I care, it would just go to highlight how crap India's bowling is..
 
Well he said he plays 80 percent of shot high risk can't see anything wrong.
 
Did he watch the same game? He didn't play like a logger at all. He demolished spinners with proper shots. When things got difficult early on he didn't throw out wicket and made slow fifty by his standard.
 
Kohli may be a pathetic Leader but no way he said it in this way
 
Kohli gave a phenomenally graceful interview post match on the field. Come on guys give it a rest.

I heard something else. I have noticed that this is not the same cocky Kohli I saw sometime back. He sounded very humble and matured. Only if MODI would be this humble, we still would play far more cricket.
 
Nope that isn't tantamount to being a slogger, as per the statement in the OP Kohli didn't call him a slogger.
 
Fakhar is a slogger against pace but world class against spin.
 
I see nothing wrong with his quoted statement however your interpretation of the statement is not correct
 
Much ado about nothing. He is merely stating facts. However, it must be said that he's an awful captain like his IPL teammate de Villiers. He allowed the game to drift and looked clueless when we were scoring at will. Somehow suspect things might have been a little bit different if Dhoni was leading them in the field.
 
Quite a silly thing to say. All batsmen play at a 100% risk when trying to score runs. So what's Kohli's point?

Just because Afridi doesn't know English analogy and description well enough therefore couldn't say the same about Sehwag's cameo in 2011. It was a game changing knock that required a high element of risk against a strong bowling unit. You need that to win

What cricket do you watch. He plays according to requirement. I have seen him play proper cricket shots and slog is NEEDED in ODI at times. Every proper batsman slogs in LOIs when needed.
 
One needs to differentiate between playing high risk and a sloggeer.

Kohli praised him as the one who played fearlessly and theres little could Indian bowlers do to make him stop.

No need to take everything in a negative aspect.
 
Making a big deal out of nothing. Is attacking cricket not high risk cricket? Or is Fakhar a defensive batsmen?

It was Virat's opinion that Zaman played risky shots. No problem in it. You may differ.

Kohli also praised Pakistani Team enough.
 
People can mistake him based on first impressions for a slogger but the more they watch him bat they will accept that he is better then that, [MENTION=43583]KingKhanWC[/MENTION] will tell you so. And I don't think Kohli called him a slogger, his comment seems fair to me

Just read the whole transcript. It was praising to be fearless cricketer.

It's an instance where words get misinterpreted due to taken out of context.
 
Kohli was very graceful in defeat. I am sorry that he didn't call Fakhar the second coming of Gilchrist.

THIS. Kohli was incredibly graceful in defeat and rightfully gave credit to the PAK team in the post match interview.
His comment on Zaman is calling spade a spade.
 
Nothing wrong with that statement!!

If anything that is a compliment for a pak team whose batsman generally play less shots!!
 
Whole indian team for 50 overs were confused very uncharacteristic.... loved the fact we gave them where it hurts the most .....ouch... 2019 WC here we come...
 
Look kohli didn't call Zaman a slogger. But the truth is he is a slogger. And am not saying this as a bitter or sour grapes. At the end of the day he scored runs for his team which led to victory. No one can take credit away from him for that though.
 
The fact is, a newbie blew them into bits and pieces despite having the pressure of being watched by a billion people. He can call him a No.11 for all I care. What matters is the grand thrashing they received.
 
The spirit pak played today was out of the world...not overreacting but if kohli get to bat 10 times we had the spirit to get him out 10 times..
 
kohlis comment was fair. Sensationalist headline. Also idc if Fakhar swings like a rusty gate he helped win us an ICC tournament n that will always be a part of his career.
 
This is ridiculous. Nowhere did he call Zaman a slogger. Kohli was nothing but gracious in defeat. And what he actually did say about Zaman is entirely accurate.
 
If anybody was slogging it was Hardik Pandya.

Infact he handled the PC very professionally and didnt make any excuses at all.
 
Don't think Kohli meant to be disrespectful. He has been all class even after the defeat. He gave Pakistan due credit for the win.
 
The thing is Fakhar isn't a slogger, that's the impression he gives when you first see him, a one trick pony but a 30, 2 fifties and 1 hundred in a final later he has shown he can play sensibly too.

The wagon wheel they showed of his runs so far in the tourny, showed runs all round the park which is again impressive.

Yeah I think Kohli was pretty gracious I don't think he was trying to insult Fakhar.

Fakhar actually had a mix of slogs and proper shots, he did both. Fakhar definitely is a bit high risk, he certainly goes for it, but it's a good thing, serves him well.
 
His flat batted shots to mid on is something I have only seen Indian Batsmen being able to do. so he is a special talent
 
Even after winning the cup, 'Tassali' nahi aayi ? Kohli was very graceful in defeat and not sulking maybe aapko mazaa nahi aaya.
 
Personally he didn't say anything offensive. Kohli had great grace in defeat.

Really enjoy his attitude. You win some and lose some but your demeanour will always shine and his was great.
 
He didnt said that sorry the thread is misleading.

He said that Azhar play ball on merit and you can have a plan for him but players like Fukhar when they are on song they play high risk shots that you cant stop and all you can do is make them play into areas you think they will find difficult.

He was giving Fakhar due credit for his inning.

Zaman is a fighter, even after getting hit so many times he doesn't give up. He's a real Pakistani, fighter like Amir Sohail
 
To be fair Fakhar needs alot of improvement to his game ,however hes got nerves of steel so I am pretty sure he will be just fine in an year of hardwork.
