Amir finishes with figures of 1/31 off 20 deliveries against the Southern Brave today. Another middling effort.

Muhammad Amir is now a pathetic bowler.
Amir looks out of form.
He looks very ordinary. Need to ball faster instead of the 130 crap he is dishing out.
He did big favor on Pakistan by retiring.
The most overrated bowler in the world showing how overrated he is.
Guys as I said last week, watching him live, he looked o much older then his age.
He looked more like 40 then a 31/32 year old.
Not saying he lied about his age. Just that the 5 years out from cricket and then cashing in by playing leagues around the world has probably caught up with him.
He is just past his best, thats all. His thin body was not made fast bowling but i think he did well against all odds at the start of his career.
Amir looks in horrible shape and his bowling figures aren’t doing him any favours either. His international career seems to be over unfortunately.
I havent seen much of Amir recently but I think he put himself under immense pressure by retiring.
He is just silly and needs to revisit all the people who give him general advise in life.
Surely you dont need much legs to bowl 4 overs in a T20. Amir’s main issue is his scrambled brain.
Watch him take a uturn and say he is available for selection now. His dream of making money abroad is slowly slipping as nobody will want such a poorly performing player soon
Yeah unfortunately thats what will happen plus for some reason he has his backers in the media and fans. The problem is that his diminishing demand in league cricket and sacking of Misbah and waqar will more or less happen at the same time. He'll make himself available for national selection then, appearing to be a man of his words.

I can't help but think the love and romance around Amir had a lot to with certain factors:
1) Being from a small town of Gujjar Khan
2) Wasim Akram endorsing him as his second coming
3) Being super young
You get a lot of good young prospects specially as a fast bowler as there is a lot of heart and guile around fast bowler in a teenager. We got carried away by the hype and he eventually believed in his hype too. But you see different attitudes towards him and someone like Umar Akmal. For me, dono ek laindi k 2 tukre hain.
His bowling in Australia in 2009 and then against the Aussies again in 2010 at Lords and Leeds showed everyone just how special a talent he was.
He was bowing inswingers to the right handers at 150kmh at the age of 17/18 and toyed with a peak Ponting at Lords.
Even in that ill fated test match against England at Lords in 2010, he was running through Englands Top Order like a knife through butter.
Prior to his international debut he was making great noises for the A team.
He really was a special talent and the hype was more then justified.
2010 Ponting was the worst Ponting year.
He can bowl with the new ball, he can bowl with the old ball, he can reverse it, his yorkers are lethal, he takes wickets, he’s got pace and he can bat !!!
I’d take Wahab Riaz over Hasnain and Rauf in a heartbeat.
How can anyone seriously see Wahab bowl that yorker and the way he bowled in the PSL, and say he doesn't deserve to be in the T20 team? Especially when you look at how much better he is than Haris Rauf, Hasnain, Faheem and all the other inexperienced youngsters.
He bowls well in the UAE and is known to step it up in World Cups. He still has the pace and the yorkers even if he can be all over the place at times. He should be in the World Cup squad.
As far as The Hundred goes, he has already outshined Amir in one game.

He will flop at the international level, like he has more often than not.
Plus he is too old now.
He should make his money from t10 leagues.
As if most of the other bowlers haven't....
Even at his age his pace is unrelenting, the yorkers are still there and he always gives his 100%. The experience counts for something aswell, especially in a high-pressure World Cup situation. He should be in the squad.
This is the logic to repeatedly select players who were a joke at international level like Kamran. There comes a point where no amount of domestic performance should be enough to warrant a recall.
Not that Wahab has done anything spectacular to deserve a recall anyway.

Wahab is lot better than Rauf and more experienced. He also brings his A game in World Cup, and has enough paceand variation to unsettle batsmen.
Wahab not playing tonight - may be injured.

I argued this before the last ODI world cup after observing his displays in the PSL, when many were rubbishing him. In the end, he was probably Pakistan's best bowler at the WC. He hasn't been bowling as well this season, but what people tend to forget is he is a big match bowler. When the heat is on, he will usually step up a gear where others wilt. Yes he will be expensive sometimes, but this is the nature of T20.
Would I still back him even though he is a couple of years older now? I believe I would. As you have said, the pace is still there, and that is his main asset, doesn't matter if he is 28 or 38.
How was he a joke? I get that he has had an inconsistent career but using hyperboles just to drive your point home is an intellectually dishonest thing to do.
Yes he has had an inconsistent career but right now he's a lot better than what we have. His like for like replacement Haris Rauf is going at 9 an over on a consistent basis and has one of the worst economy rates in the world in overs 1-16. Others like Hasnain either have the same problem or lack the experience to succeed high-pressure situations like the World Cup.
It's easy to rail against players like Wahab, who have never really been able to fully establish themselves but fact is, if Pakistan had enough established top-tier fast-bowlers we wouldn't be having this conversation in the first place.
He has done very well in the PSL. And if that can be a criteria of selection for the likes of Sharjeel, Sohaib Maqsood, Mohammad Wasim and many others; than I don't see why that can't be the criteria of selection for him.
Wahab is better than Rauf he's also a better fielder and better batter. However if he is to get into the squad/playing xi he must open the bowling .
If he plays he can't have a one-dimensional role. While I agree that he has improved immensely with the new ball and should be tried upfront, he will be needed in the death overs aswell because he has the experience of bowling at the end and does have those yorkers in his arsenal too.
Yes he cant be one dimensional but he cant be bowling at first change as that's not the issue we have.We need a opening bowler with shaheen.
