Wahab Riaz ruled out of ICC Champions Trophy

Birmingham June 5, 2017: Wahab Riaz twisted his right ankle in yesterday’s ICC Champions Trophy match against India.

A scan has confirmed that Wahab Riaz suffered a deltoid ligament complex after an eversion injury mechanism whilst bowling during the India vs Pakistan match on June 4th. It will take minimum 2 weeks to recover from this injury. Wahab will not be able to continue to play in remaining games of the Champions Trophy.

PCB has send the official request for the replacement to the ICC Technical Committee.

As a person i like wahab and feel bad for him that he has not been able to perform well at all. Having said that, it should be the end of him in intl. cricket. He should earn money by playing PSL and other leagues where he will still be in demand and earn big bucks. You "pace is pace yaar" types need to reassess what is the need of modern day cricket. Wahab yesterday was bowling in the high 140s but it was going to the boundary even faster, but as per you lot its ok because atleast he can bowl fast.

The trundler does have some bowling smarts and can bowl to one side of the wicket. Would take him any day over the spray gun sparrow killer.

I am a fan of Akhtar, Wasim, Waqar. I saw them taking 2/3/4 wickets in one spell. Those were "spells".

the only sensible choice would be sohail khan given that he can bowl his full quota and is fit for ODI

Hassan did very well barring the last couple of overs but even experienced bowlers get smacked on thee wickets. It's the experience and confidence that he has gained from a big match that will make him a bigger player. Playing against minnows is useless.
