I read somewhere a few days ago that Pakistan is in water crisis and it can run dry due to Kishanganga dam made by India. So a potential war between Pakistan and India is on the verge of happening?

It has been the case for years and in my opinion the main reason why India won’t let go of Kashmir and Chenab valleys.

And the main reason why Pakistan wants Kashmir too I suppose?

Though this was hardly the reason in 1947 and the early days - but a situation of convenience as the decades have rolled along.

Here is the Court of Arbitration report which will help you draw your own conclusions. There is a lot of detail and arguments from both Indian and Pakistani sides in the document, so going through it all may take some time.

I personally believe that the solution to water problem won't be political, it will have to come through some technological breakthrough.

I haven' read up much on this, but my understanding is there will be no consumption of the water by India, only a temporary diversion before it returns to the rivers that flow into Pakistan. Think that's why India were allowed to continue with the project anyway.
