No semi final in 2006 Champions Trophy.
No super eights in 2007 World Cup.
Lost an ODI series 4-1 to India at home in 2006.

Overrated.

If we go by icc events then intikhab alam becomes a legendary coach :yk2
Plz see how he developed few players under his guidance
Younis khan yousuf salman butt shoaib malik among others

Most well liked and respected - huge compliments by all players who played under him.

What do you mean? Intikhab Alam Ji is a legend anyway. :inti

Two Bobbyz impacted Pakistan's cricket in this century.

Bob the Bobby Woolmer
Babar the Bobby Azam

Above all, Bob was a great human being.

He should be inducted in ICC hall of fame as a coach. Please hit like if you agree.

I think under him the team showed remarkable spirit and fight. He helped develop a lot of players too.

He would've had a better record had he worked with a professional organisation - and players who gave a damn about fitness/fielding etc instead of the undisciplined, childish prima donnas he had to babysit.

Him and inzamam were a great team together
Like North and south
Chalk and cheese

He was very interactive until his very last
He took Pakistan back to the 70s and 80s with his laid back approach and educational approach to cricket

Since then we have had uneducated players who have to get educated by either the icc or internally at youth levels or in the academys leading to very insecure players who are always self doubting especially when not speaking in their own language and on tour

A shame that no major tournaments were won under Woolmer as many of the players he had at that time were superb.

I think some players didn't achieve their full potential under Bob.

Shoaib Akhtar-Bob Woolmer relationship dictated those few years and it didn't work out well for Pakistan.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic - but Intikhab was as rubbish and incompetent as one could get. Absolutely clueless when it came to managing people...

On the contrary - Inzy, MoYo, YK, Malik, Salman Butt, Kamran Akmal, Afridi and Razzaq all enjoyed the best years of their careers under Woolmer.

Regarding ICC tournaments - I think Inzy’s suspension really hampered us during the 2006 CT. One bad game against SAF (80 all out) - and we were done.. For the 2007 WC - not having Shoaib Akhtar / Asif was a huge loss. Salman Butt was unfairly dropped and we had rubbish like Hafeez and Imran Nazir opening for us - again one bad game (123 all out vs Ireland) and we were done..

Inzi had 1 of the best runs of his career and that was towards the end of his career. That tells you how good a coach Woolmer was.

But there were plenty others who flopped under him.

Great coach, one of the best ever in the history of the game.

Very hard to see Pakistan attract a coach of his calibre in this day and age

I believe Bob Woolmer was the best coach for Pakistan ever.

Not just for Pakistan but also globally possibly.

You can attribute Pakistan's bowling success in that period - Rana and co. to Bob .

They were initially rubbish and kept bowling at the pads looking for lbws and bowleds . But reverse was becoming less prominent because of cameras etc .

He got them to bowl a more disciplined outside off channel and Rana in particular benefited from that.

The best coach ever, still read his encyclopaedia on cricket every now and then. He was a specialist in every area and his psychological management skills were exceptional.

Bob gave India plenty of spankings around that time, glad you still remember them

Seems like a dream that Bob actually coached Pakistan. It was such a golden period for the team, we really peaked as a unit. Will always remember the spanking we gave England during our home series.
