Wasim's playing 11 is almost the same team we have now barring Rhino Azam.
. Wasim is going ballistic in the post match discussion. Proper ballistic.
He said Shan shouldnt be blamed because he's making a comeback and this isn't his strength but "those who are hiding behind him" should know hiding won't solve anything. I didn't get who he was talking about there. Maybe the senior bunch for sending Shan out for the tv segment like they did with Tait last time?
This is going off topic but no I don't blame him. I blame people expecting him to do things he's not capable of.Shan is equally garbage should not be in the team ... How can you watch him bat today and think he's fine?
Come on guys..wasim and waqar can only select from what is out there...
in the heart they know that half the team they've selected is not capable.

Wasim's XI is better because he hasn't picked 45 year old Shoaib Malik. Honestly, Shoaib Malik in 2022. No wonder Waqar was such an awful captain and coach.
if we're really obsessed with a geriatric playing the wc then I'll take hafeez over malik anyday
Hafeez has retired malik hasnt FYI both are much better than kushdil

We've just had a 7 game series with this middle order and you still think Shoaib Malik is some hilarious and unthinkable replacement. What have we got that keeps Malik out of the side? Haider Ali? If the replacement in Khushdil then perhaps having soaib malik back for one last major tournament and then trying other youngster is better? I have not seen anything in kushdil that tells me that he is international material.

Ifti is probably older than Shoaib btw, considering that is the only metric you think is important when picking a WC team.
Why stop at Malik? Lets bring back Hafeez, Kamran Akmal, Misbah, Afridi like we are still in 2009.

Pointless sentence for a terrible argument. I'm guessing you didn't watch a single ball of the 7 match series and that's ok.
All of them are better than Kushdil if you think kushdil is an upgrade on all of them then no point having any kind of conversation here. The guy has not done anything of note other than struggle against every single international class bowler. The names you have mentioned have all played some class innings and won games in the past.
International cricket is tough and you need players who can win you games doesnt matter how old they are or how many games they are likely to play in future. Malik can still play on merit no need to replace him before time when you dont even have a replacement. Even sarfraz would be better than him in the side.
Malik record in Australia is dismal but he is still way better than kushdil.
I am bit confused. The world cup squad has been named with the reserve list. My understanding that you can only make changes to the world cup squad from the players in reserve list.
So Farkhar will most likely replace Kushdil as he is a named reserve. How are the likes of Malik, Azam Khan and Imad Wasim going to the world cup squad if they are not named reserves?
Am I missing something?
I am no fan of Kushdil, but just because he is rubbish, it doesn't mean we go back to has-beens like Malik. If the world cup was in UAE or the sub continent, then maybe Malik could have been recalled, but it is in Australia and you have already stated that Malik has a dismal record in Australia.
If Malik in his prime couldn't perform in Australia, there is no way that he would perform in Australia in his 40s, when he is way past it. Just because he is better than Khusdil, it doesn't mean we bring him back. Bringing him back is taking one step forward and three steps backwards.
Malik is crap in Australia . No need for him
