Madder things have happened in English cricket. Despite not being a fan of Wasim Khan's tenure at the PCB, I reckon he won't do worse than some of the folks that have headed the ECB over the last few years.

Why should they ? Wasim did not deliver as PCB chief.

And ECB would be wiser to learn from Haroon Lorgat episode.

-A woman

-A woman from the BAME Ethnicity

-A transgender or Homosexual

-A black man


I think all of these categories before they appoint Wasim Khan

I did say it jokingly in the other thread.
However maybe Wasim Khan was given a nod and that's why he resigned when he did.

Not saying he wasn't pushed out but knowing something else was in the pipeline may have made it easier for him.

One thing though, if he was proper Pakistani we would already have given many interviews of how bad the PCB are etc etc

Its sad to see Wasim Khan has to leave PCB thanks to dumbo Rambo. Wasim Khan did some good job along with terrible mistakes. But he is still better than previous top guns. But expecting him to be CEO of ECB is day dreaming.

It’s not out of question.

The ECB are very likely to appoint an incompetent person for big roles due to this transitional phase they are currently going through with the ‘woke and cancel’ culture rampant due to the power of social media.

Wasim Khan on the other hand is a proper candidate and he does kind of fit the bill due to his BAME background.

Interesting to read some of the responses

Firstly wasim khan has been one of the best ceos or senior officials the pcb have had in 15 -20 years..bar none. His accomplishments in three years are far above others. It seems some of my fellow peers only started watching cricket over-the-counter last 3 yrs.

Secondly he is very competent and understands processes. He is already ear marked for the ecb sooner or later. They are under pressure to showcase are not an institutionally racist gamecand he would easily help with reform and the spread of cricket

Finally it would very much help Pakistan cricket via we had someone with a better idea of our cricket at the helm. More objectivity.

It'd be very interesting if Wasim Khan gets the job. I think he fits better in the ECB culture than in PCB's. Good luck to the man.

well he was on the shortlist before he took the pak job and from what i heard he was very close to have been given the job, if anything I'm sure he has more experience now working in the madhouse that was PCB

Former Chief Executive of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) - Wasim Khan - is in line to become the General Manager at the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Wasim Khan has been shortlisted for the role and will be interviewed in Dubai next week.
