Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan is in line for the next General Manager (GM) at the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Wasim has been shortlisted and will be interviewed in Dubai next week, as per reports.

The post of the GM has been vacant after Geoff Allardice was promoted to the role of ICC’s CEO. Geoff was in the post of GM for the last eight years before moving on.

Wasim Khan is expected to compete for the post against former West Indies hitter Adrian Griffith, according to reports.

It’s worth noting that Khan was also a candidate to succeed Tom Harrison as England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief executive. If he is selected as GM at the ICC, however, he will be eliminated from consideration for the role.

Johnny Grave (now with CWI), Guy Lavender (MCC), Richard Bevan (League Managers Association), and internal candidates Clare Connor, David Mahoney, and Neil Snowball are all possible candidates for the ECB role.

Hope he gets it! He was one the best executives PCB ever had. Would be a slap on the face of RR for firing him

What's the role of the ICC manager? because I hope they have responsibility for handling tournaments, and tour schedules.

I am sure it is just a fancy title, with a good paycheck of course. The actual work ends up being do what the BCCI tells him to do.
