Hammad Azam, Umar Akmal if the were Indian or Australian.. I feel they would have been developed mentored and coached different in U19 players they were above shoulders compare to their group.

How can Ind/AUS player development is much more professional.

Hammad is mediocre. If he were Indian/Australian he would never have made it above the U19 level.

The list is huge less self inflicted ie Akmal more so PCB’s total failure to function like it should

If Yasir Hameed had a Mickey Arthur type mentor when he was young he could've opened for 10 years for Pakistan. Was one of the best cover drivers we had but had off stump fishing issues, plus was chopped and changed too often.

I felt we could've done more with Taufiq Umar who should never have been dropped for dross like Farhat.

Asim Kamal was a gritty batsman who scored important knocks vs SAF, IND and AUS. Could've done more with him.

Despite what his critics say, Fawad Alam has never been given a proper chance in Tests despite a FC average of 55 and over 30 hundreds. We have completely wasted his prime years.

Raza Hasan is another name. Whilst most of his issues are self-inflicted (drugs), he showed much promise in his initial run in 2012.

Zafar Gohar is also being wasted.

The list is very long but the majority and here we are talking 80% of the wasted talents were just plain thick. Along with the lacking the grey matter, they lacked the work ethic and the hunger to succeed.

Hammad if in Australia would not had played beyond grade cricket, he is has been given way too many chances just because of his under 19 performance again India some 10 years ago. He is not talented at all.

UA is a different story.

Asim Kamal is the 1st name that comes to my mind after reading title of this thread

I agree with comment about Yasir Hameed here. The guy had a command over this cover drives, definitely one wasted by mismanagement. Another player that comes to mind is Naved Yasin.

I hope Umar Amin doesn't end up on this list and hopefully PCB can salvage something out of this remaining cricketing life.

Yasir Hameed , Asim Kamal , Imran Nazir , Taufiq Umar , Basit Ali , Raza Hassan , Shahid Nazir , Md Zahid , Md Akram , the list goes on

Hassan raza 14/15 year old debut...wasted.

Qasim Omar he was wasted by IK as he didn't like his honesty

lol @ Umar Akmal being wasted.

Yes, he's wasted all the time.

Umar Akmal has talent but he lacks common sense. No System can give you common sense. He throws away his wicket, when he is set and in form by doing something that makes no sense. So you cant really
fix that.

If you are going to talk about wasted talent maybe talk about Fawad Alam...

Umar Akmal has been given chance after chance after chance.....He is not that good, Pakistan has to move on from him. Ultimately he is responsible for his failures, its not due to the lack of professionalism in PCB.

Mohammad Talha and Mohammad Sami as bowlers.

Imran Nazir and Salman Butt as batsmen, different reasons obviously.
