"They [Irish] are very bright professionals with a lot of their cricketers playing in county"
"And I must say they have put up a fantastic performance they have put up in the first Test"
"About 2 years ago we explored the prospect of Ireland visiting Pakistan and some untoward events took place in Karachi and this idea was abandoned"
"The situation now is that Ireland have a hectic schedule up ahead and so do we"
"In the next 12 months I cannot imagine a game between Ireland and Pakistan but in the next 2 years, absolutely [possible]"
"We are in talks with NZ cricket regarding them touring Pakistan and we are hopeful that tour will go ahead"

I hope there's a couple of matches in Rawalpindi Stadium. This stadium has a MASSIVE audience to cater to and I can guarantee that 25 games on the trot would be full houses.

Najam Sethi is a visionary of Pakistan cricket and will take it places. Mark my words!

Really since like a very sincere and dynamic head of PCB. Like his attitude and I hope he continues to do well for pcb.

Didn't he earlier say half the matches will be in Pakistan next year?

He isnt half bad only complaints I have with him are:

- that he likes to be in the public eye too much, always giving statements (most of which are premature). He says so and so country is going to tour and then it doesnt happen. It would be better if he could negotiate behind closed doors and only come out with press conferences for things that are confirmed.

- The way he wants desperately to play bilaterals with India. We get it, it brings a lot of money to PCB bank accounts, but self respect is something too. If they dont want to play us, why grovel. Put your efforts to something constructive, like improving domestic structure, scheduling more A tours, and building better relationships with other cricket boards.

Self respect is an over rated term. You have to put your ego aside at times for the larger self interest.

Well it doesnt serve self interest either to keep pushing an agenda that wont become reality unless the political situation between the two countries changes.

If the political situation between the two countries changes, then all of this begging will be of no use anyways, as the two countries will naturally resume cricketing ties regardless of what statements Sethi makes during this time period.

So, I repeat, instead of wasting time and effort on this one issue, there is a lot more that could be done that would serve Pakistan cricket's self interest.

It's not like Sethi is not doing other things as well. The dark reality of Cricket is that every team wants to play India to get huge financial injections and the PCB cannot be oblivious to that.

This is pretty much possible.

To play half of league games is not possible now imo and the idea of having double weekend games (Thr,Fri in UAE & Sat,Sun in Pak) is clearly not possible as it will mean that teams will have to play 2,3 games in a row every week which is bad. Sethi shouldn't have made these statements as it wasn't possible but it's ok to be optimistic.

Last two rounds of round robin stage = 6 matches and 3 qualifiers and final; whuch makes it 10 games and i believe it is very much possible.
