What's new

We did it in UK, we did it in UAE, can we do it in their backyard?

So for the love of God wrist slitters should take a break,, it not all doom and gloom, we drew them aussies in UK in 2010 with very mediocre batting, we smashed them like no tommarow in UAE and we gonna create the history in their own backyard, they are not invincible in their home anymore, nor an ATG team anymore, so believe in the green! And show some faith, it won't be easy but i think we can pull this.

Giving a realistic opinion of a thrashing Down Under is not wrist-slitting..though out all of occasions this is probably our best chance.

Pakistan has mostly done well in the UK. Australia is a different beast. Won last test there 21 years ago and have lost 9 out of last 9 tests.

They have three newbs in their top six, a mediocre spinner, a captain who is under pressure and have recently been smashed by both Sri Lanka and South Africa. Pakistan can certainly beat them 2:1, InshAllah.

Pakistan has 2 newbies in top 6, 2 40+ batsmen, and one poultry farm owner. I do not understand how does Pakistan have a better batting line up in Australia.

If the Pakistan top order can somehow survive Hazlewood and Starc then they have a good chance.

that's the spirit i want to see, both in fans and players, atleast do all the crying after we actually get thrashed and hold your horses till then, but no these wrist slitter are crying like no tommarow even when the series have not even started.

I am certainly getting those cornered tigers feel this tour down under !! The amount of people shooting off from both sides in the media is alarmingly high BUT this is the kind of buildup we need for such a high profile tour !!

Would love to see some more banter and sledging thrown around in the mix of test match action... Trust me when I say this, our boys, barring Azhar and Shafiq, won't really back away from a fight and knowing how the Aussies play historically this is all setting up to be a riveting test series starting Tomorrow !!

May the best team win !!

Wailing aunties, the whole lot. It's the same story before every series and I fail to see why they keep following the Pakistan team if it makes them so miserable.

Pakistan easily has a better batting lineup than Australia, even though the conditions favor the home side and bring them up to par. Anywhere else and you'd back the side having an ATG, two established good batsmen, a veteran and two potentially great, young bats. Not to mention Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Australia are totally dependent on Warner, Khawaja and Smith.

I hope the boys give it right back to the Aussies. Bounce them out. Make them hop.

I would be glad if our players give their absolute best and do show some real fight and grit, and don't back away and go down without a fight, then the result won't matter to me, i would even take a series loss then. But plz don't go down like headless chickens,

Junaids and MMHS forget about team selection and all the other issues, do you think this selected pak team has any real chance to pull this off vs this average aussies team?

I think catching will be the deciding factor, so we have to take our catches if we are to have any chance,

I don't think so, would be great if it ends 1-1; even 2-1 for hosts is not a bad result. Statistically, a 2-0 is best result by touring PAK team in 20 years; so the bench mark is not that high to be honest.

AUS lost a Series against SAF & they immediately reacted - changed almost half the side & this young team can only improve from the win of last Test at Adelaide. PAK believes in STABILITY, which has won them matches in UAE - so they have taken same team for UAE, NZ & AUS - that too after losing last 3 Tests against teams that'll be man-handled by this "average" Aussie unit at their home; hence, I am not so hopeful.

But, my best wishes for Misbah & his stable unit.

Pakistan don't have the firepower to take 20 wickets, that is the main problem.Their only hope is if they get sub continent type wickets like Eng produced or extreme bowler friendly green decks which can compensate for the lack of pace bowling options. If it's a sporting wicket then Aus will have it easy
