I think Afridi came out in favour of Mohammad Amir when he wanted him in his T20 team so strange that remark.

It's not that strange, as fixing has come more and more under the spotlight, attitudes are hardening. Now it seems almost ludicrous that Herschelle Gibbs was given only a two year ban when he was involved. There really is no excuse these days, since the Pakistan trio case, everyone is far more aware of the pitfalls and the cricket boards are also giving far more guidance than was available back then.

He's probably mad that Amir got him out for a golden duck in the last match they played. Knowing Afridi, he usually blows hot and cold with his statements.

He obviously means currently
No need to bring in the other 3

Human beings have the propensity to adjust their viewpoints to suit their interests.

Amir was young, unique at that time and pardoned by the majority as it was felt he was trapped rather than willing to do it. However, now everything is getting out of hand, so Afridi was right to say what he did as fixing is still going on.

What about hitting the fan with the bat, bitting the ball and dancing on the pitch??? He should have been made a example in Pak Cricket but instead we made him a so called Hero...

As Imran khan said, "Patechar player"

As Imran khan said, "Patechar player"

PCB couldn't afford to. He drew crouds in which meant revenue.

Yet we have seen what our team is like without him. With Afridi we always had hope if a game was heading towards a loss but with Afridi at the crease.

It has always been the case that the rules are bent to accommodate quality players. Just ask Ata ur Rehman.

Depends on what side of the bed Afridi got out off. His views can never be taken seriously.

As much as I would hate a lifetime ban on the likes of someone promising like sharjeel khan but this time it would be necessary if all parties involved indeed are guilty. By now all Pakistanis know the consequences.

I agree. Anyone caught fixing and is proven guilty should be banned for life.

Does he include Mohammad Amir or just certain players?

Totally agree. Not banning the trio for life was a huge blunder.

Hasnt afridi gone on record in the past detailing how he turned down approaches made to him without reporting these to the authorities?

Been there done that. Did it make any difference? No. Even banning some great players like Salim Malik didn't make a difference.

Life ban is a really easy option which will ignore the real issue in Pakistan domestic. Until we do not improve the pay grades there people will keep risking their career in order to get more for their families.

It doesn't mean that we shouldn't punish them, but it won't solve the issue long term.

The messenger has a credibility issue, but the message is correct.
