Inzamam-ul-Haq speaking to media after announcing squad :-

"We have endeavoured to make batting strong in this squad"

"With 2019 world cup in England we wanted to give youngsters a chance to gain experience in those conditions"

"It's not a question of Fawad Alam not upto our standards, we didn't call people to camp based on this series alone"

"All the players were not below standard and we are considering them for other tough series such as those coming up in UAE also"

"No player should be disheartened as they can get opportunities later and they should continue working hard"

"We are going to England in first half of summer and we have to see which bowler can move the ball"

"Hasan Ali is a good bowler for Test matches in my view"

"We need to look at bowlers who swing the ball rather than have pace; such bowlers will be more useful in England"

"This is not my team or Mickey Arthur's team that i will exclude or include someone due to being against someone and remember this that no one is allowed to do this either"

"Wahab Riaz performance has not been as good as we expected but he is still a good bowler"

"Wahab can reverse swing but we are going to england in first half and also the other bowlers performance is also good:

"Yasir Shah's loss is huge and we pray he gets better as series in UAE are big and we hope he will be better by then"

"Yasir can take wickets in all conditions so its a big loss"

Selecting your nephew and Asad Shafiq over Fawad is not bias. Yeah sure

Fawad and imam bat at different numbers so let's not question his selection. Technically imam is more sound than fakhar and Sami Aslam . The question of Fawad Khan being left out is asked too much . Darren Lehman had a Similar average as Fawad has but how much did he play test for Australia. Grame Hick , Mark Ramprakash there are so many who were peaking in first class and failing in ODIs. It could be argued that Fawad wasn't given enough chances , it's like a presumption that he has poor technique to he would inevitably fail. But then what can be done ,it's better to support the ones on the field than to question their selection and hurt their Morale .

This guy should be shame of himself. Imam, Babar, Shafiq ahead of Fawad !!!!!! A food example of bias and nepotism.

Unlike Australia of late 90s-early 2000s, Pakistan don't have an all time great batting line up. And Graeme Hick and Mark Ramprakash were county bullies and rather failures at Test level.
But I am happy for Saad Ali, but we need to get rid of perennial inconsistent guys like Shafiq and Babar(one more chance).

All the goodwill and contribution Inzamam gathered in his 16 year cricket career he'll end up destroying all of it for his stint as most biased selector. Selection of his neighbours [Shehzad, Azam], nephew and son [already in U 16] into PAkistan XI, is all he'll be remembered for, as a symbol of nepotism. His only legacy would be destroying many great cricket careers for his family. If it was not for Mickey Arthur or if Pakistan had lost Champions Trophy both Umar and Kamran Akmal would be in the team.

Even a 6 year old with a bit of observation how he has fared [since becoming selector in 2016], can guess why this baraat of 4 openers is going when at one time, he could'nt see a single opener beyond failures Shehzad, Imam and Akmal. Fakhar Zaman is going to debut for sure alongwith Azhar Ali, and if either of them are unable to perform Inzi has sneaked in his favorites to replace him as media and our emotional public starts biting for change after one bad performance.

Usman and Saad Ali won't get a single game they'll join the elite list [where Usman has been present regularly] of being dropped without getting a single match. Asad and Babar would score well in Ireland and make sure they are'nt dropped for the next 2 matches against England even if they get out on a duck for next 4 innings. Asad Shafiq especially he has been a consistent duck scorer in Tests.

No alternative for Amir, with no Junaid or Hamza assures he will underbowl and underperform once the bowl gets old and bowl at 122 km/hr for the next 2-3 days.

it is quite possible that they have selected 4 openers on the belief that the higher up the order you play, the better you can cope with the swinging ball in England.

Inzamam selects his nephew and rejects the greatest FC batsman in Pakistan in the last decade and claims 'we won't exclude someone due to bias'

Think That Imam will be asked to play as an opener with Sami, Azhar at 3 and Fakhar at 6-7 to counter the second new ball a bit like De Kock

But we will include someone because we are related to them :inzi :inzi :inzi

You kidding me? Both Akmals have had ample of chances in the past and have failed miserably. Just see their stats before commenting. They don't deserve a place under any circumstances - Mickey or no Micky and whether Pak won CT or not. There are much better players deserving an opportunity before we ever go back to these tried and tested failures.

You need to watch how Fawad Alam fared against good bowling attacks , heck he was getting hit on his head while sweeping grame Swann . Poor guy deserved a chance. But with his techniqe he was never going to be a long term prospect

shame for not selecting the faddii over the year not only this one. just shame. that only exits only our country sadly!

I'm just alluding to a scenario if Pakistan had not won Champions Trophy, Inzamam would've been more powerful than Mickey Arthur and can assure you both Akmals would be in the side. Umar Akmal was sent by Inzamam on dummy fitness test, despite of consistently failing in last many matches for Champions Trophy. He sent Kamran Akmal for West Indies Tour 2017 despite Akmal poor on-field fielding on the excuse of PSL performance.
Inzamam has been selecting Shehzad for last 2 years whose average has gone down the 30s and strike rate in T20 is 75, rofl.

His point was that it's because of MA and Pak's performance that these Akmals are no longer in the side. Otherwise Inzi would have selected them.

People have short memories, are we forgetting that the same Inzi selected Umar Akmal for the CT after overseeing his fitness test "himself" and then MA had to send Akmal back to Pakistan because his fat belly was getting in the way of our cricket.

Instead of lying about factors not taken into account in choosing the squad, maybe he should explain what factors were taken into account and why Fawad Alam did not meet those.

What about the selection of your nephew, which is completely undeserving?

Sorry I misunderstood your original comment as advocating for Akmals. Seems like we are both on the same page regarding them :-)
