I'd much rather have Ashwin bowling in tandem with Shah. Ashwin is an offie whose stock ball comes into the right hander and Yasir's goes away. Herath being a left-armer his stock ball would also be going away from a right-hander and when bowling in tandem with Yasir it would give a left-handed batsman undue advantage.

With Ash and Shah bowling together you have both bases covered (plus both are the best bowlers in their respective disciplines in world cricket today). Besides I never really rated Herath, I don't know why he never impressed me.

True in current form Ashwin is superior but in good conditions no one I have seen dominate the whole match as herath. Every ball asks a question and on lanka 5 day track its almost impossible to survive.
