I’ll tell you what Hales and Finn Allen did against Shaheen
They came to play their A game against him and failed. If they didn’t fail, they would take him down and continue as the beasts who strike at 160+
The lesson here is, if it’s your job to attack…you don’t care who the bowler is and who comes after you. Hales and Butler both scored 200+ runs in the tournament with massive strike rates also
This is called ‘Shaheen ki Parwaaz’ openers. They are not their to crawl around like the ‘zameen ke jaandaar’

Pakistan lost but were gallant in defeat.They stretched England to the limit ,sensationally clawing back after removing Hales,Butler and Brooks.Reminded one of a tiger coming out of an ambush,when England looked like cruising home.One of the finest seam bowling exhibitions in a world cup final.Congrats to Pakistan for rising like a phoenix from the ashes after looking dead and buried ,at one stage.

Err no..you face equally good teams in late stages. This team is building good tournament experience..one one tri series decider and lost two finals..but its all about building on it..England lost a major final a few years ago and lost some pretty bad t20's before finally getting over their hoodoo..
We will also keep.building..but this is sport. I just want them to fight all the way..and they did..they made us proud..
By the way we were the better team against the indians. And should have beaten Zimbabwe.. we r undoubted one of the greatest t20 cricket nations out there without a shadow of a doubt..we should be proud of the boys..

Well.done Pakistan. You did us proud. I still remember the India vs Pakistan series in 2005 when we had no real bowling options and Inzi was desperate. That team found a way in bangalore 2005. But now we have loads if options. The best bowling attack in t20 cricket..dynamic young batsman like haris...our first real potential Pakistan great batter since inzi..a swashbuckling wicket keeper batsman..Great all rounders with more to come inshallah..

I see no shame in losing a Final like that. The bowlers gave absolutely their best and made the match go much deeper than it should've, actually. Pakistan were hugely unlucky as well that Shaheen got injured and weren't able to bowl his two overs during the most crunch situation of the game. It was heart-breaking to see him walk off when he was needed the most. That was a tragedy of the highest order!
I think that there's no secret that Pakistan lost the match in the last four to five overs of each innings. They completely lost their way there when they themselves were batting, and England made full use of Shaheen`s injury to run away with the game in those very overs. 160 is what I was aiming for right from the beginning, and that would've surely been a very good score, given the pitch and the occasion as well.
However, I would like to point out another key phase of the game: the powerplay. Whereas Pakistan made around 38 for one during those overs, England scored 49 for three. Imagine what they would've got in the powerplay had they lost a wicket or two less than that! This difference once again underlines the disparity between the approach and the mentality of both the teams. England would've surely lost the game had they gone on to the back-foot and instead batted cautiously in those overs, as the required run-rate would've crept up with every passing over. So, this is clearly an issue which our Asian teams need to address, if they're to compete with a team like England, or even Australia. Still, though, Pakistan can be pretty proud of their performance. They were down and out after the loss to Zimbabwe, but they made a fabulous comeback in the tournament against all odds. This, in the times to come, should only lift the spirits of the team and motivate them to do well even in the future.

Amazing fight, you could see the boys were highly motivated and gave it their all! Boys done well 
It was a deserving final between two teams with similar beliefs. England believe they can chase down any score. Pakistan believe they can defend any target. And they almost did. English bowling came good in this game and I believe the game turned in Adil Rashid's spell.
Teams throwing kitchen sink to win should be the essence of T20 and no better teams to.display than the finalists. After getting beaten thrice, Butler's audacious scoop for six was a shocker. Pak's bowling from 10th to 15th was another shocker. Just fascinating to watch.

Fair analysis. England are a fabulous team, but Pakistan isn't a side anyone wants to face in a final. They made England sweat down to the final overs, and if they had any sort of competent batting, they would have won. 150+ and they would be winning this game.

It was such fine margins in this game. If either SSA had avoided tweaking an injury, or if Pakistan had scored even 15-20 more runs (even without SSA), they would have had a real shot at victory here. In the end, it was England’s day.

England will receive a whopping $US 1.6 million for defeating Pakistan and winning the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Melbourne on Sunday.
The thrilling T20 event came to a thrilling climax at the MCG over the weekend and just how the total prize pool of $5.6 million will be distribution among the teams is now known.
While Jos Buttler's victorious side will receive the highest amount, all 16 teams will be rewarded for their efforts in Australia with a payout.
Runners-up Pakistan will receive exactly half the amount that England got ($800,000), while the two losing semi-finalists - India and New Zealand - will collect $400,000 apiece.

Shaheen getting injured in the middle of the final was the turning point. He could have brought Pakistan back into the match. He wasn't fully fit during the whole world cup but still showed what he is capable of. What a bowler.

There was one truly great shot in that Butler knock, the scoop for 6. The bowlers were feeling the pressure of having to defend a low total and got desperate and sprayed it down the leg side or were too full. Can’t blame Babar too much for holding the bowlers for the death and he got them that far making some great calls to. But I think it was silly picking Nawaz in the team, having an extra batter or even a bowler would have been more fruitful for them. It may have been close if Shaheen was fit
However, the game was certainly lost with the Bat. I think Harris came in too early as well. Ris/Babar were not in the best touch and while they tried their best, they were beaten by the better team mate. The team tried too hard looking for the big one, missing out on singles and doubles, if you look at Stokes, he waited for the bad ball, didn’t break a sweat and picked his moments, that was the difference.
It is disappointing and these chances may never come in a while so I get your point that somethings could have been done better but I feel they gave a game close to their best possible and were beaten by the better side

Getting it to work in Tests would be an issue however and they have to be selective what to prioritise or they may buckle under the load, we don’t know what will come of Shaheen's recurring injury to. You can’t trust the board to be professional, Shaheen had to manage the injury initially himself
I thought Stokes was playing a match losing inning a bit like he played against Pakistan in championship trophy 2017,but one thing England had in its favour they was hard hitting batsmen all the way through to Curran , and Shaheen loss gave Stokes momentum to go after the bowlers.

Babar Azam’s men pushed England all the way at the Melbourne Cricket Ground but fell to a heartbreaking loss with six balls to spare after posting a below-par 138-run target against a star-studded batting line-up.
The team suffered a blow when pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi was injured after landing awkwardly on his knee while taking a catch to dismiss England batter Harry Brook, an impact that eventually forced him to abort his spell in the 15th over.
Talking about the team’s performance today, former skipper Imran — who led Pakistan to their maiden World Cup victory in 1992 — said that winning and losing was a part of the game.
“I used to tell my team to fight till the last bowl. Try your best. But when the result comes and you have given your best, then it is God’s will.”
Pakistan, Imran said, gave it their all and kept trying till the last bowl. “But what is not in your hands […] the way Shaheen Afridi was injured, no one can do anything about that.
“And unfortunately it happened at a time when the match was at a very important stage and Shaheen could have made a difference. I am not saying that we could have won but it was at a time when the game could have been changed,” he added.

In reply, Ben Stokes hit an unbeaten fifty to take his team across the finishing line despite Pakistan bowlers putting up a great fight. Akhtar backed the Pakistan team, highlighting the fact that the Indian bowlers failed to even take a wicket against this English team in the semi-final.
