Jayden Seales happend.

He got the psychological edge over the entire team last game by decking Babar. Today he just ran through them with that psychological factor

He bowled no less than someone like Rabada, Cummins, Hazlewood or Bumrah today. Definitely on that level.

Recap:

Windies were around 120/4 after 33 overs.
Windies ended up with 294 after 50 overs thanks to late-blitz
Pakistan collapsed for 92. Jayden Seales got a 6-fer.

That's pretty much it.

Well congrats to West Indies for a well deserved victory taking nothing away from them, it will take a little time for me to process this and also need to watch the highlights too.

Bishop and other commies were saying pitch is a tired one and second innings will see more shooters rizwan said toss doesn't matter. I agree Riz is stupid but what was hesson doing with all those youtube analysis video?

The bilaterals were the only place Pak had something over WI that’s gone too.

Pak had similar upperhand over Kiwis and that got finished too.

They better get their act together

Honestly!!!! Why does Pakistan even play cricket anymore? How many more humiliations would it need to ban this sport entirely?

Pak lost the odi series after 30 odd years you are acting like pak has been loosing to wi too often you are bound to win it at some stage today was the day they won it in their home not a big deal still 30 years of odi domination over west indies
30 odd years don't belong to single team. Unless you say current Pakistan team is as good as Pakistan team of the 90s. I am only talking about current pakistan team who focus a lot more on building a T20 unit.

Now what happens? Replace Rizzy with Salman as captain? But Salman has not done a Gill since becoming captain of the T20 team. His batting form has regressed in T20s & ODI's. Pakistan are in a sorry mess but RizBar have to be removed from the white ball team. They are toxic and batting like tail enders.

Shai Hope’s unbeaten century and Jayden Seales’ sensational six-wicket haul powered West Indies to a commanding 2-1 series victory over Pakistan at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.

After posting a formidable 294/6 in their 50 overs, West Indies bowled out Pakistan for a mere 92 in 29.2 overs. Seales starred with figures of 6/18 in 7.2 overs — the third-best in West Indies ODI history and the best ever against Pakistan — including a devastating four-wicket burst with the new ball that reduced the visitors to 23/4 inside 9 overs.

Salman Ali Agha (30 off 49) and Hasan Nawaz (13 off 40) briefly stemmed the collapse with a 38-run stand, but Gudakesh Motie’s breakthrough triggered another slide. Pakistan crumbled from 61/5 to 92 all out, losing their last five wickets for just 31 runs.

Earlier, Pakistan chose to bowl first and struck early as Naseem Shah removed Brandon King within the first 15 balls. Evin Lewis (37) and Keacy Carty (17) added 47 for the second wicket before Abrar Ahmed dismissed Lewis in the 14th over.

Shai Hope, batting at No.4, anchored the innings with a masterful 120* off 94 balls (10 fours, 5 sixes), his 18th ODI century. He built crucial partnerships with Sherfane Rutherford (45-run stand) and Roston Chase (64-run stand), before teaming up with Justin Greaves (43* off 24) for a game-changing 110-run unbeaten partnership. Their late assault yielded 119 runs in the final 10 overs, lifting West Indies to the highest total of the series.

Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed claimed two wickets each, while Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz picked up one apiece.

Player of the Match: Shai Hope

Player of the Series: Jayden Seales

For the first time in 34 years, the West Indies have finally registered an ODI series win over Pakistan.

One of the GOAT ODI innings

Forget the fact it was Pakistan. The ball was turning square, and there was a bowler who bowled 7 overs for 10 runs and taken 2 wickets. That was a very difficult surface

Also the reverse swing after 38 overs…

I would have love to watched this live.

Bro I genuinely mean it, you will see the gulf in class and quality he has over all the players that have featured in this series.

The bloke called Carty is a good batter, so is Rutherford. They couldn’t get the ball off the square in this innings but Hope was still managing to rotate strike and wait perfectly for the bad ball. The reverse swing was a problem for Chase and later Greaves, but Hope still managed to deal with it easily and dispatch boundaries

The way he charged at Nawaz and Abrar at the end was phenomenal!

They should have bowled with both Abrar and Muqeem this series. Those two with Nawaz would have put additional pressure on Windies batting making it harder to counter attack. The 5th bowling option was once again an issue today.

Very poor captaincy and team selections this series, too many bowling changes for the sake of it like bowling Talat in those early crucial overs when they should have had a specialist bowler applying pressure to the new batsman.

Once they were 23-4, it would have made more sense to play Talat before Hasan Nawaz as he could rotate the strike better and you could leave Nawaz later to hit out when required. Hasan is very raw so isn’t able to rotate the strike quite well just yet.

Shafique is a liability as an opener, he needs to go back to domestics and sort his mental game before making a comeback.

I could go on and on but nothing is going to change so why bother…

Yes.

Dropping Sufiyan for 2nd and 3rd ODIs was very absurd. He should've played all games.

Yeah this was a high quality knock. Not only was there turn but it was holding in the surface and it was very slow upfront .

He was manufacturing room/angles and placing it into gaps and taking it deep before exploding like a madman at the death, despite the reverse on offer

ODI batting is also tougher than ever now.

Two reinforced kookaburras upfront which moves quite a bit and and one ageing , softer reversing ball at the end which is tough to hit.

ABdullah and talat are pathetic. So is Naseem. They should be just kicked out for good...

Such a pathetic stuff from Babar and rizwan also... Not sure what they were thinking while on the crease.. Babar got unlucky but he was still playing like a tail ender and that leave by RIz, WAAAH..

So what's the next Prediction. Because I always lose, I am gonna say England Wins Ashes so that Aus may win :vk2

WI mis
Pakistan have proved that they are truly a mediocre ODI side.
You are wrong..They have already proved n number of times in the past that they are not mediocre side, but much below than the mediocre side..they have nothing to prove anyone any further..they are playing their normal cricket..

An interesting fact is West Indies won their last four ODI series they played at home including the current one. Among the other three series, two were against England and one against Bangladesh. Would this winning streak be there if they played ODI series also when Australia toured WI? (Against Australia, they played test series and T20 series.) When Australia played in West Indies, Australia won all the matches.

Shai Hope is very underrated.

Umar Gul while speaking on state television after the series loss against West Indies:

“There is a big difference between this team and the ones we had before. Back then, our all-rounders were established and that’s why we dominated,”

“Those all-rounders dominated in every department. Today, our batting is not firing and our bowlers are not taking wickets,”

“In the last two matches, we had two all-rounders in the team, but the captain didn’t use them. That is also one of the reasons for Pakistan’s failure,”

Why 5 years ?

That's how long it will take find world class players and that's if we find any. But typically it can take a few years for a rebuild.

Unfortunately for us the train has come to a complete halt. Before we were finding good players that just about kept us going but now nothing. Since the last batch Shaheen, Babar it's been nothing.

Most of the players coming through are T20 journeymen who just want to play T20 cricket. They are not interested in test cricket. With this mindset it's over for Pakistan cricket for the moment. We hope we discover players with a world class ability who hold professional excellence in high regard and are eager to prove themselves in test cricket and all formats.

Shoaib Akhtar launched a scathing critique of the national team following their heavy defeat in the ODI series against the West Indies:

"Mike Hesson is a good T20 coach, but I don't know what qualities he has for ODIs. In this format, if you don't play quality players, this is what will happen,"

"Unless you field established all-rounders, batters, bowlers, and spinners, you won't get a complete 50 overs. You can't just scrape by in this format,"

"This is the result of bad policies, not the players' fault. Your players will always be exposed on seaming tracks. Now this rebuilding process has been given a new name, making a combination,"

"Be thankful Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc weren't here. Wherever such conditions exist, our players will be exposed,"

I disagree. Ali Raza is as talented as Shaheen. Ubaid Shah isn't too bad either. Saim made a better start to international career than Babar.

Thats true for most nations outside big3 and SA. Test cricket isn't financially lucrative anymore.

It was a shameful performance tbh... There are a lot of problems that are quite visible to the general public, but selectors and PCB are making decisions with closed eyes and ears.
