junaid siddique missed 3 catches in the match! The guy deserves the Man of the Match award. If we had a bettter fielder in place of him we probably couldve been in the driving seat.

Dont know why they made such a pancake of a pitch? This pitch is batting paradise like most in India. The mirpur pitch was decent not too long ago but in recent time the curator is making the pitch quite placid and slow. Dont know why they made such slow pitches? The slowness of the pitch makes it very easy to play the spinners

Turning out to be a runfest of epic proportions. Gayle and Samuels however missed out on both occasions lol.

Two for Shakib!!!

Game comes to life.

Bangers in with half a chance here, but they'll have to play out of their skins.

Anyone know what's wrong with Chanderpaul?

chanders is suffering from food poisoning :P

BD def. on top, Sammy, narine, rampaul, best are the remaining batsman so BD should fancy themelves. If we can get them allout in the 1st session then we can def. win the aggressive batting and 9 batsman to boot

Game nicely balance, i think if W.I can get a lead up to 250 and they are bowled out then i think both teams will then fancy their chances of going 1-0 up in the series, at one point this game almost looked like a nailed on draw.

Chanders and Sammy are going to be key here.

Chanders because he can hang in and bat tough long enough to make winning impossible.

Sammy because he can put another 80 onto the lead in an hour or so and take the game away that way.

Should be a great first session tomorrow,WI legend & WI captain vs the young Bangladesh team with the game on the line.

NO WAY I would have guessed that at the start of that last session.

Id say that BD are on top because chanders might not play like the last 2 days. If he doesnt play than BD has 50% chance of winning and even if they give a total of 275 BD still have 9 batsman all inform to take care. If Chanders does play then the game probably will be in the balance. Sammy seems to be a bit shaky and dont think will be much of a menace. Inshallah we can do this. But importantly we must make sure we dont commit hara keri tomorrow when we come out to bat. We are a team that has gone through 58s and 78s in a single tournament anything can happen!

This could be Bangladesh first bproper win against West Indies who now have their full strength side available.

See how my prediction of Nasir Hosssain hitting a big inning came true. He was unlucky to miss out on his hundred. This kid has got oozing talent.

You are misinformed. SBNS has 5 pitches. NCL was being played on a pitch where pacers were getting a lots of wickets, and all the matches were quiet low scoring, like 250-300ish. This is i think pitch #4 and its flat on purpose for this series.

Ball was turning today and will turn more tomorrow. But it will still remain to be a decent batting surface.

Do you think Ireland will be as poor as Bangladesh after 13 years of test cricket?

I'm sure, they will not make it to this level in 13 years.

In short: Times have changed a lot since India/Pak started playing cricket, while the game was not so dynamic and was limited to one format only. it's pretty difficult for any developing teams to make progress amidst different (3) formats at a time. Progress of the established teams are also faster than those times due to lots of cricket and the advantage of a better system in place. So a developing team has to do that catching up as well.

But we could make reasonable development due to having a large number of people play this game and have a passionate fan base. It takes time to build a proper system at home to build that culture and quality of domestic competitions etc to build players to excel at the top level. I think our cricket is just ready in every aspect to take off, signs were seen at the Asia cup, now against WI and hope this upward trend will continue.

IRE will struggle to maintain a quality player supply in longer term along with many other things. See, how much Zim is struggling to take off even once they were in a good position. Improvement in cricket is harder these days, you won't realize, because it was already set in your place before you were born...

this

Teams like zimbabwe and kenya simply dont have the supply of players you need for the big scene. Forget cricket, people there have to work hard to earn the money to purchase a bottle of water. Thats the difference, you need fanbase for the success at sport. Fanbase will generate the money for the players, organizers, etc and help get players....both which are important for the thriving of the cricketers.

Cricket is a much tougher game these days because of the amount of cricket and 3 different formats.

Bangladesh's highest test score.

Congratulations to them.

Would be a good effort if they could draw this one.

I know some people will dismiss Bangladesh's performance in the first innings due to the flatness of the pitch, however, we've played in flat tracks before but never have we managed to perform like this and show so much maturity while batting. Naeem's innings was an excellent, restrained and chanceless knock and it's great to see him batting where he should be. Despite being one of the best batsmen in the domestic scene for a while, previous managements have employed him in a lower-order bits-and-pieces sort of role. When finally technically flawed batsmen like Nafees and Zunaed are replaced by the likes of Anamul, Mominul and Shoumya Sarkar, and if we can manage to find a couple of pacers who can average around 35 with the ball, I believe we can regularly challenge and even beat teams like West Indies, New Zealand and England at home.

Can Bangla pull a rabbit out of the hat here. Looking at around a 250 chase.

The debutant, Sohag Gazi, finishes with 6-74 in the 2nd innings and 9 wickets for the match as WI are bowled out for 273!

Sohag Gazi waht a memorable debut !

Started with getting hit for six first time in test history and now ended up with 9 wickets for match

Supporting Bangla boyz today. They need a comment from Viru to show some solid performance. :))

Gazi picks up 9 wkts on debut including all 4 wkts to fall this morning. Brilliant effort.

Bangladesh gets a right arm offie in their team this is like India finding a fast bowler. :))

Can Bangladesh win?

From cricinfo

Bangladesh are chasing a tall fourth innings target of 245. They have scored more than this in the fourth innings six times, but this would be their highest successful chase if they can do it.

Around 77 overs remaining so WI will have to get Bangla all out to save this one.

Gazi is a great find for Bangladesh! we badly needed a OS and we got one. I had enough with too many SLA and hope he will continue this way we wont see all out SLA attack:)

I am pretty sure we will see a result. Bangladesh doesn't have batsmen to see out the day's play. Their best bet is to play normally and not think about winning/drawing it till tea.

Hey guys I am back! :) Chinta ta Chita Chita Chinta ta ta :yk

I think we will lose this test match by a 50 - 60 runs.

Junaid and Nafees are walking wickets, don't expect anything from them, they can suicide any moment. Kal Ho na Ho :(

Teams losing a test after scoring 500+ in an innings.

Tino strikes again.

Interesting Sammy hasn't given Permaul a go yet.

Match heading towards W.Indies now, can the 2 Bangla youngsters save them, Naeem Islam and Nasir Hossain at the crease now

I think if Bangladesh can get the target down to 80-60 then the pressure starts to turn again the other way.

Still have Mahmudullah up their sleeve. Windies favoured but Bangers shouldn't be giving up yet, just knuckling down and trying to take this into the final session.

Why on earth is Sammy persisting with Narine, who has hardly looked like taking a wicket all match?

Give Permaul a go, it's what he was picked for!

136 runs with 4 wickets with 40 overs remaining....... Someone needs to stay at the crease for 30-40 overs or Bangla have lost.... Can they get a partnership here
