I always said Indian Seamers are key for their Test Match successes (In ODIs it is enough if Batsmen do well and Spinners choke the opposition, but still in ODI it will be handy if seamers do their part! But in ODI it requires death bowling, variations, yorkers and other things. But Test Matches, it requires a determined, disciplined and fully-focused bowling efforts and the results/fruits will come). This thing was so nicely done by Ganguly & Dravid post Azhar era (where we were only home-track-spin-bullies ala Azhar/Kumble), but with solid batsmenship in the Dravid/Ganguly era (with an attacker like Sehwag who used to attack in all conditions/overseas too in test matches) we only required that there are some decent fast bowlers to complete the suit! Dhoni somehow seems to have missed this trick, he was probably overhauled by LOI success, concentrated too much on LOIs and employed same tactics in Test Matches, that's why the results are not that great (after the foundation of Ganguly & Dravid as captains, actually our Test Success should have been much much higher under Dhoni). Hopefully Kohli will redeem this (though now the situation is much tougher compared to that when Dhoni took over) as the Indian Batting is also in the budding stage. If Kohli does this job (Test Match growth) as captain, then he will be both "successful batsman" and "successful captain" which is a rare feat! And he can feel so proud of it!
