Changes in Pakistan's team for the third Test match

Babar , shafiq and shadab out.

Salahuddin , hassan and asghar in.

Shehzad
Azhar
Salahuddin
Yk
Misbah
SarfraZ
Amir
Yasir
Hassan
Asghar
Abbas.

Shadab and Shafiq have to go.

Salahuddin and Asghar have to come in in their place. Unfortunately we cannot drop YK.

There will be no changes until misbah is their, I have a gut feeling that this team will improve once Misbah and Younis will be gone

Lol you think there is a chance pak will go in with 5 bowlers :)))

This is our umpteenth last day collapse in last few years. No way we'll play a batsman short. That's not my opinion, just the reality.

Shafiq needs to go though.

Misbah'll play 7 batsmen, if allowed - you are talking about 3 pacers & 2 spinners, with the 2nd spinner batting below Abbas!!!!!! Talk some sense nah .............

Assuming we go with 2 pacers, Amir, Abbas, Asghar and Yasir should be the attack.

If we need 3 pacers then Hasan comes for shadab.

I would include Salahuddin but I'm 95% sure it won't happen so no point in mentioning it.

Shafiq needs to go though.

Our bowling is certainly lacking a fifth option and we misbah does not have enough confidence in azhar or shafiq to give them a few overs. We didnt bring along :hafeez either

#SOS Mohammad Hafeez for the third Test match

Sorry Mohammad Hafeez that we ever doubted your ability in any facet of the game , we need you in the third test match. Please bless us with your presence in the dressing room as soon as possible.

I've been skeptical of this 4 bowler strategy for a while now, and finally we're seeing the downside to it.

But again, Misbah will never play 5 bowlers.

shafiq and shadab out
salauddin and hassan in

unfortunately tho misbah will not drop shafiq Come hell or high water

why can a bolwer have a bad game but is dropped but batsmen get a free ride no matter how they perform

YK should be dropped, just because he is retiring, should not be rewarded with a series deciding test.

We need 5 bowlers but knowing Pakistan management the team will remain the same. My team would be:
Azhar
Shahzad
Babar
Younis
Misbah
Sarfraz
Shadab
Amir
Yasir
Hassan
Abbas

Throwback to the good old days when the batsmen were gentleman amateurs and the bowlers were working class labourers.

It's a batsman's game for a reason.

I agree that five bowlers would be great but we can't afford to weaken this batting lineup. If Shadab had shown his batting credentials then yeah, we could drop Babar or Shafiq to make way for another seamer but seeing as that didn't happen I think we'll have to go with 6 batsmen again.

Hafeez would have been perfect for this tour tbh, his bowling would have come in really handy.

After this test, if Hassan is fit, there is no way they are going to play 2 spinners (especially one rookie) in the next test.

WI after all took all 10 wkts on the final day without bowling a single over of spin.

Most likely, Hassan (if fit) else Wahab for Shadab being the only change

Honestly don't care what Misbah and YK do in the next test. If they scores 100s, good farewell. If not, can't care less.

Want to see if Azhar can put in a match-winning performance and Sarfraz can play a big hand as well. Shafiq might end up playing his once a series decent innings, but that will only paper over the cracks :wenger.

We'll be trolled as Wahab bhai will make a comeback :wahab

Tests are the one format where he isn't awful for I don't mind

I think Asad will be the troll, will probably make a 100 than take a break for the next 5 years before making another 100

I second your point on Shafiq. Will score a useless hundred and people will ask for him to be promoted in the order.

Please have a look at his average over the last year.

The problem with this Pakistan team is that the batting is too weak to drop a batsman for a bowler but the bowling needs an extra bit of assistance to try and bowl out WI quicker. In both matches we had them for around 100-4 or 100-5 and we let them score 250+ which just makes the job harder for the batsmen. We are missing an all-rounder who can bat and bowl to a good standard in tests. Hafeez would've been good but Shadab can fill that role but he just needs time as he is only 18 years old. I don't think Babar should be dropped because the best way for him to learn is match practice. People complain about young players not getting chances due to older players keeping them out but then want Babar to be dropped after a few bad performances. The short term investment in Babar will be worth the long term gain as he is our best hope post YK and Misbah because he is a special batsmen.

I'm not calling for Babar to be dropped, just saying that if you're going to drop a batsman then it's between Babar and Shafiq.

Sarfraz needs to step up and start making a big contribution in these kinds of games too, it's not enough to make an 'aggressive' 30 runs and he's going to find that out the hard way when he becomes captain. All the people that praise him now are going to turn on him unless he pulls his finger out.

Salahuddin for Shafiq and Asghar for Shadab.

Roseau will favour spin so 2 spinners are a must. Batsmen need a kick up the backside, if you bat for 140 overs then you should be getting more than 393 on the board.

Not sure whether WI can repeat this performance but they shouldn't be underestimated. Shai Hope is a highly rated prospect with a solid technique and can kick on from this knock, Roston Chase is in good form and Kraigg Brathwaite was working himself back into form in the 2nd innings after a bad start to the series.

It's OK boys, we have them right where we want them. :yk

Hopefully there will be some justice for M. Asghar this time. He is a genuine spinner and deserves a chance at the least.

Also we need 5 bowlers. Azhar really needs to bowl more overs. Asad could make way for someone so Shadab doesn't have to be dropped but then you potentially could be weakening your batting.

West Indies v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Roseau, Dominica | May 10-14, 2017 | Pre Match Discussion

Ahmad shahzad
Babar Azam
Shadab Khan

in my view point these three can be easily replaced. One can argue on Babar Azam but not the others.

Replaced by:
Shan Masood
Usman Salahudin
Wahab/ Asghar depends on wicket

Whats your thought. Any other change or....

I am probably the biggest critic for Shehzad but I have to disagree, he should not be dropped. Even though he was given multiple chances it was a refreshing change to see someone from our top order prepared to fight it out and not meekly surrender.

As for the changes; Shadab, Shafiq and even Babar should be rested I'd probably even go as far as to say that YK should sit the last test out....

Bring in Osman and Hassan along with Asghar ad Shan. Move Azhar to 1 down and play Salauddin in at 4 with Misbah, Sarfarz as 5 and 6.

Play 5 bowlers with 2 proper spinner and we should be able to win the last test.

I would go with the following
1. Ahmed
2. Shan
3. Azhar
4. Younis
5. Misbah
6. Usman
7. Sarfraz
8. Amir
9. Yasir
10. Abbas
11. Wahab / Asghar

I would get Salahuddin in there to shake things up a bit.

Hasan Ali in for Shadab.

Usman Salahuddin in for Asad Shafiq.

We can't play Usman Salahuddin in such a crucial deciding game where we are at the edge of making history. We have to go with our experienced batsmen.

Although I want Usman Salahuddin to play, I don't think Pakistan will play him.

line up for next match:

Azhar
Shan
Babar
Younis
Misbah
Salahuddin
Sarfraz
Amir
Yasir
Hasan
Abbas

I hate to say it but Shan should replace Shehzad because he failed to impress, his 70 was a fluke and he looked out of sorts in all of his innings so far. Shan shouldn't be in the squad, but now that he's somehow selected, he should get a game because Shehzad is struggling.

Shafiq deserves to be dropped because he's the only batsman right now who is yet to score at least 1 fifty in this series, all other have scored at least 1 fifty, Shafiq is a disgrace to our team right now.
Salahuddin should play, he deserves it, no point in giving Shafiq another chance after failures in important matches.

Hasan should come in place of Shadab, We should go with 3 fast bowlers, Asghar has no international experience, next game is important for us otherwise I would have liked to see Asghar if we had won the 2nd game. Hasan is arguably our best ODI bowler and deserve to play here as well.

I hope Babar Azam performs well in this match, as he will be under immense pressure after getting a Pair in 2nd Test.

Predicting the side for the 3rd, and final Test.

I think Pakistan might just drop Shadab and play Hasan Ali, either that or they play Hasan Ali for a batsmen and have 5 bowlers.

Either way I think Hasan Ali will play and we'll more than likely see the same side, barring that change.

Rain is forecasted for the first 3 days. Think this will be a draw and we will lose another chance of winning a test series in WI.

West Indies v Pakistan - Final Test - Pick your side.

So what do the PP'ers think will be the final XI v West Indies tomorrow?

Will Shadab be dropped for Hasan Ali, or will one of the batsmen make way for Hasan and Pakistan plays with 5 bowlers?

I do think hasan will play, and I do feel he'll replace Shadab. Then again I'd love if we were a little bold too and dropped Shafiq and played with 5 bowlers.

1. Azhar
2. Shehzad
3. Asad
4. YK
5. Misbah
6. Babar
7. Sarfraz
8. Amir
9. Yasir
10. Hasan Ali
11. Abbas

I'd like to try babar a bit lower down the order, move asad up. Give Shehzad the extra test, he's head and shoulders above the other openers in domestic so give him a run, his international record isn't half bad either overall (though I'd prefer Sami Aslam).

Tempted to try Usman, but see little point just for one game, where we need to win, better go with the more experienced guys who've had a feel for the WI conditions now. And if he played, Babar would have to make way which is not ideal. Yk and Misbah are retiring soon, they'll be plenty of chances in the future to try out Usman.

Shadab's not ready for test cricket, has to go and bring in a pacer. We're clearly missing a 5th bowler, a good part timer like Hafeez or Malik. Was hoping Azhar could become that but not happening. If fawad or haris come back into to the team maybe that could solve that. But playing an allrounder at 6 who isn't good enough to get in batting alone isn't a good idea IMO.

Shaan
Azhar
Babar
Younus
Misbah
Shafiq
Sarfaraz
Amir
Shah
Hasan
Asghar

Seems likely Wahab will play.

Not sure about Hasan but rumours are that he isn't completely fit (don't quote me on this :usman).

Not expecting any changes to the top 7.

One Pakistani news channel was reporting that Hasan will be replacing Shadab and Shan Masood will be replacing Shezad. Not sure whether its true or not.

Good move to give Hasan his test debut, but not sure about replacing Shan with Shezad. Thats like going from bad to worse.

Rain forecast for 4 days , Pakistan can say goodbye on winning a series in West Indies again.

This. It will be impossible to force a result here. We lost it in the 2nd test batting first and then letting WI score almost 300 batting 2nd.

Its a shame cause misbah and yk deserve a proper match but cant control the weather.

Misbah for sure is retiring the other 1 im not so sure he wants to retire in such a manner.

Looks like another opportunity to win a series in WI has gone begging....

Pakistan will win this weather permitting and hoping for another amir's 5-fer!
