In a thrilling T20I match at Kensington Oval, Phil Salt led England to an eight-wicket victory against West Indies with his third T20I century. Notably, Salt had declined an invitation to party with Rihanna just days before the match, prioritizing rest. His decision proved fruitful as he continued his impressive record against West Indies, having scored 456 runs in his last five matches against them, including three centuries.

Salt, alongside fellow Bajan Jacob Bethell who scored his first T20I half-century, put on a memorable performance in their hometown. Both players, having attended Harrison College nearby, enjoyed strong support from local friends and family. The match itself was action-packed, with West Indies initially struggling at 18-3 before mounting an aggressive comeback featuring multiple sixes, including Andre Russell's massive hit over the pavilion.

The game was briefly interrupted by rain, during which Reece Topley suffered an injury and expressed his frustration by breaking a chair. Despite these dramatic moments, including a spectacular catch by Motie to dismiss Jos Buttler, the match ultimately belonged to Salt, whose explosive batting (including five consecutive boundaries off Shamar Joseph) secured a convincing victory for England in what was a highly entertaining Saturday night T20 encounter.

West Indies 158/8

England (14.5/20 overs T:159) 161/3

England won the 2nd T20I by 7 wickets (with 31 balls remaining)

Buttler smashes England past Windies in second T20

Jos Buttler smashed a blistering 83 from 45 balls as England cruised to a seven-wicket win over West Indies in the second T20.

The England captain came in after Phil Salt was dismissed from the first ball of the tourists' chase and proceeded to hit eight fours and six sixes in a stunning knock.

Buttler dominated a 129-run stand with opener Will Jacks before the pair fell in the same Romario Shepherd over.

However, the damage had been done and the visitors went on to overhaul West Indies' 158-8 with 31 balls to spare.

England are 2-0 up in the five-match series after victory in both matches in Barbados and now head to St Lucia for the last three games of the tour.

Earlier, West Indies again had to rely on lower-order runs to take them up to a somewhat competitive total.

After slipping to 35-3 in the powerplay, Rovman Powell led the rebuild for the home side, but when Dan Mousley bowled him for 43, they were 102-6.

A few lusty blows from Shepherd, Matthew Forde and debutant Terrance Hinds got West Indies beyond 150 but, with Buttler in such fine form, England made light work of knocking off the runs.

Gros Islet, Saint Lucia- Left-arm seamer Obed McCoy has been added to the 15-man squad for the West Indies Senior Men’s T20I squad as a replacement for medium-pacer Matthew Forde for the remainder of the five-match T20I series against England in Saint Lucia.

Forde, named Player of the Series in the One Day International leg of the tour, where the West Indies secured a series win, sustained a left thigh injury during training on Wednesday 13 November, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium. The 22-year-old Forde will continue to be monitored by the medical team as he works toward a full recovery.

As a result, McCoy, who was initially unavailable due to an injury sustained during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), has now been cleared to return to play. Bethell 62* (32), Salt 55 (35); Motie 2-40 West Indies 221-5 (19 overs): Lewis 68 (31); Ahmed 3-43 West Indies won by five wickets; England lead series 3-1

Scorecard:

In a thrilling fourth T20 in St Lucia, West Indies achieved a remarkable run-chase of 219 to secure their first win of the series. Openers Evin Lewis and Shai Hope smashed 136 in the first nine overs, but England clawed back with Rehan Ahmed's dismissal of Lewis, a run-out of Hope, and a duck for Nicholas Pooran. Rovman Powell's 38 off 23 balls revived West Indies before Sherfane Rutherford's consecutive sixes in the penultimate over sealed a five-wicket win.

England's 218-5 was bolstered by Phil Salt's 55 and Jacob Bethell's unbeaten 62 off 22 balls. Despite a dominant start, Lewis and Hope's explosive partnership ensured West Indies stayed ahead, with Rutherford finishing with 29 off 17 balls. The fifth and final T20 will be played at the same venue, with England having already clinched the series 3-1.

Windies respond to series defeat in style:

Facing a 3-0 deficit and a daunting target of 219, West Indies responded with fearless batting. Evin Lewis hit seven sixes in his 31-ball 68, while Shai Hope's elegant 54 helped set up a strong powerplay of 69-0. Despite a maiden over from Saqib Mahmood, England's bowlers struggled without Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid.

The 10th over shifted momentum when Lewis was caught, Hope was run out, and Pooran was bowled by Ahmed, who finished with 3-43. Rovman Powell's steady 38 from 23 balls kept the pressure on England, and Rutherford's finishing touches secured the win.

Exciting Bethell shines again:

Despite the loss, Jacob Bethell's second T20 half-century showcased his rising talent. Partnering with Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, Bethell's unbeaten 62 off 22 balls ensured England made the most of a flat pitch. Bethell's confident and aggressive batting highlighted his potential, providing a boost to England's batting depth as they look to future series.

Felt like I hadn't seen Evin Lewis in a long time until this series. What happened with him? I'm surprised he hasn't played more matches for the West Indies or made more headlines in franchise.
