Faheem: 13.41 AVG 85 SR

Sheppard is no world beater and somehow Faheem is even worse than that. Batting doesn't make up for his horrific bowling either. Even his List A record isn't good to suggest he's dominated at List A domestically to warrant his place in this side. I just wish we would finally move on from him.

To further add just how bad Faheem is, in his last 25 ODI matches dating back all the way to 2018, he ONE match where he took more than 1 wicket (took 2). In total, he has a whopping 12 wickets in those 25 matches. It's shocking just poor he is.
 
Ian Bishop is such an enthusiastic individual. After decades of WI team letting their fans down, he still has the childlike optimism in his voice.

If Talat and Faheem are in our plans for 27WC then we are doomed. Hesson has been extremely disappointing in this regard.

Khushdil was our top scorer in CT25 and he is dropped for these lalus.
 
Pathetic stuff from Rizwan. Young debutant in a pressure situation and instead of being the one to take the attack on while he settles in, he plays just as slow.
 
Its business as usual in ODIs it seems. Don't know how much selection power Hesson has but this ODI XI is even worse than Aqib's.

Clearly they haven't learned anything after their humiliating WC and CT campaigns. Still same approach with their batters doing the same nonsense things. Crappy power play, followed up by slow batting in the middle phase and just praying they hold onto wickets until the end to get the runs.

I wonder how much more they will need to continue with this nonsense.
 
Babar and Rizwan at 3 and 4 makes us one dimensional. This is why we need Fakhar at 4. Not only is he dynamic but also a left handed which is important in middle order.

No, They are all poor at rotating the strike. That's my point. What was stopping Hassan for instance from rotating the strike or hitting the ball into gaps? The fact is the current lot has little clue when it comes to milking singles and doubles. They can either hit or tuk tuk. There is no middle gear.
 
These are ideal conditions for Talat. He is horrible against pace and bounce but slow wicket suits him.

Fakhar should open imo. He's better against pacers than spinners. Will be more destructive in PP with the field restrictions rather than the middle overs.

Saud didn't even failed. Scored 62 in his last ODI vs India.
 
Hasan Nawaz is so raw he literally has zero idea how to get a single in ODI's. He can hit big and has power but clearly has zero strike rotation ability. Not his fault as he is so early in his career that he only even has 5 List A matches.

He started playing T20's in 2022 and the coaches looked at that talent he showed in T20 and thought no, this talented lad barely played List A cricket in his career. Just shows what a poor shambolic system we have and that is why Pakistan's raw talented players stay raw.

Oh Please. Kamran surely deserves another chance but both Tayyab (limited technique) and Saud are ill-suited to white ball cricket imo

Fakhar can bat anywhere in the lineup and will still be useful but need him in the middle order now. He is also aging and with fitness concerns, middle order is better where he can bat as an impact player.

Farhan and Saim should open but we also have other candidates for opening. Not many players are available in middle order that can provide Fakhar Zaman like value.
 
Hope is Hasan Nawaz will be ready by 2027 WC because right now he is extremely raw. Simply doesn't know how to rotate strike at the moment.

His real test will be against 145 kph short balls in SA and Aus. Most of our batsmen fail that test.
 
Nawaz's SR goes from 30 to almost a 100 in a matter of balls, this is the ability most of our other batsmen don't possess in pressure situations

He seemed quite at ease against the short ball, hit quite a few sixes off those in the t20 WI series, a couple even while falling and off balance
