Pakistan kicked off their T20I series against West Indies with a hard-fought 14-run victory in the 1st match at Lauderhill, Florida. Saim Ayub starred with a 57-run knock, while Mohammad Nawaz's 3/23 derailed the Windies' chase of 179, despite a late flurry from Jason Holder (30* off 14) 1. The hosts now face a must-win scenario to stay alive in the series.

With the 2nd T20I set at the same venue, Pakistan will aim to seal the series early, while West Indies—led by Shai Hope—hope to bounce back after their recent 5-0 thrashing by Australia. The Men in Green hold a dominant 15-3 head-to-head record in T20Is, but the Windies' revamped squad, including returnees like Johnson Charles and Shamar Joseph, could spring a surprise.

Squads:

Pakistan
Squad: Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris(w), Salman Agha(c), Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Sufiyan Muqeem, Khushdil Shah, Abrar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Hussain Talat

Might wake up for this game but idk if I can. Man I wish I was still in AU, it wouldnt be an issue.

Anyway doesnt matter, 5am isnt too bad

I have watched the highlights of the first game though. Saim, Farhan and Fakhar.

^^ These 3 are the correct pair for t20. Now farhan needs to be an all format batter for pakistan
Ya so true finally they are getting right and so pleased with mike hesson playing great bowler like sufiyan i think both agha and hesson knows the importance of wicket taking bowler like sufiyan

Haris Rauf’s Bowling is a concern. He bowls like a Child with developing Brain. In t20 you cant become predictable even with pace. If Batsman lines you up and misses it , It does nt mean you gotta bowl same length and line again. You get smashed after one or two misses.. Too many times rauf has conceded big overs like that

Haris Spank me Rauf , living on political ticket, what will we achieve by playing him in a meaningless series

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat
West Indies (Playing XI) - Alick Athanaze (In for Johnson Charles), Jewel Andrew (WK), Shai Hope (C), Keacy Carty (In for Jediah Blades), Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph.

Pakistan (Playing XI) - Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris (WK), Hasan Nawaz, Salman Agha (C), Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali (In for Haris Rauf), Sufiyan Muqeem.

Why is Haris coming in now when we needed to rebuild. And then comes late last match when we needed to accelerate run scoring? And Agha come in before him last match, and when we need to stabilise an innings, Agha not coming in. I don’t get it lol.

no need. worst result we will loose in t20 wc.. we lost anyway with babar anf Rizwan.. time to move on
You are likely to score more with players that average more than these duds who will make it work in 1/10 matches. Both Haris and Sahibzada are far from international standard.

Runs not coming , the batting looks tough , Pakistan will hope spinners get more purchase here , Pakistan has two main spinners and two part timers like Ayub and fakhar.

Salman agha so far won 6 lost 6 with these players.. Babar was nt doing any better.. we need to move on like i said.. Rizwan played horrible innings in Sydney a match that we should have won , he did nt learn and played same kind against SA in 1st t20., you dnt get to open on and play run a ball in t20.. its ok to get out if struggling but babar and rizwan would occupy crease for nothing.. Results proved that.. NZ C team toured us twice in 2023 and 2024 and we could nt beat them at home

Average doesn't win you matches as we found out in last WC. Time to move on.

Check babar's record as a captain first before commenting. He never lost a series to NZ and BD as a matter of fact. That is the bottom line. The only match we won against BD was BD C team too, have the audacity to say that.

Loosing to BD is no embarrasment. They are good at home. They Beat Lanka in Lanka and WI in WI before that
Babar as batsman failed in last BD t20 tour. We had more experienced players back then compared to Agha’s team who took second String bowlers without fear of failure. Most of Pakistanis are done with Babar in t20.,. its time you should move on

And Agha should have lost to BD C and NZ D team? That is justified? No one is done with him except for brain dead people like you. Are you unable to see what his replacements are doing in the team? have some shame

Same mode of dismissals over and over again. WI bowlers throwing the ball well wide of off-stump making these predictable leg side hacks trying to reach for it and getting out.

Give them anything but a flat track and it's a struggle.

Only brain dead person on this forum seems to be you. You expected young team to beat NZ in NZ? 😂😂

BD c team? im not sure what are you talking about
They played best eleven in first 2 😂😂 Infact Agha took Pak C team to try nee players.. Its ok to loose as long as we find good players in meaningless series.. and it seems we found a good bowler in that series.. Babar was that “ LINJ” who would play full strength against Zimbabwe too so no one could replace his opening spot

Ignore him. Seems like an emotional covid kid.

Fakhar doesn’t suit no.3. Give him full licence to just attack. He can’t open with Saim and Farhan opening now. So just play him down the order. There’s no point playing him to stabilise an innings. Same with Haris, unsuited to doing that up the order.

Promote Agha to 3, Hasan can play at 4 or 5 with fakhar taking the other position. And Haris at 6.

What young team? Fakhar, Haris Rauf, Hassan Ali, Agha Salman himself. Are they any younger than Babar Azam? What are you high on? Babar was result oriented, this team is **** oriented. You're still not answering my question. What did Babar's replacements do?

Nah, Fakhar is ideal at 3 because he can target both pace and pace. It is Harris who should be batting at 7. He is more adept against pace and will be useful at death with his ramps and flicks.

well we did nt play full strength bowling attack.. Salman mirza and Danyal were our bowlers.. we did nt even try muqeem. and second t20 loss was marginal .. it was well fought series..

what results babar got us? i would like to know

This Florida pitch seems similar to BD's Mirpur pitch.

BD actually beat West Indies in Florida once (2-1 T20 series win).

The audacity to defend losses to BD. Mindboggling. You defo deserve this.

Fakhar has been awful at 3. He’s had enough games to prove himself there. Fakhar has had one good year since 2018 in t20s and it came in 2024 when he was batting at 4. People have been blaming the fact he was batting at 3 rather than opening for his underperformance, and now we’re playing him at 3 again.

Lovely batting by Hassan, we finally got someone reliable in middle order. Select him in ODIs too please.
