Which one do you think is better? Western food or eastern food?

I know I'm making a very broad comparison and most likely a vague one too because there is so much diversity within western and eastern cuisines that it's wrong and probably a bit daft to group everything together. But just for argument sake, broadly categorizing western cuisine as that including European, American and Australian cuisines and similarly asian ones as eastern cuisine, which one do you find better?

Nothing against our friends here from the west, but I find western cuisine (atleast the limited foods I have tried) to be very bland in taste and sometimes have even been surprised how a particular dish is so popular. I understand that a strong subjective bias, a cultural gap and a limited exposure to variety of foods is probably clouding my judgement. We have members from all over the world here who must have experienced a variety of global cuisines. Hence I wanted to ask the opinion of the ppers here.

P.S.: Don't ask me where does African cuisine belong. I haven't quite worked it out yet.

Mediterranean cooking beats everything imo atleast in terms of proper nutrients and even taste,American fast food and Desi oily food are the worst.

American fast food are the absolute worst.

Atleast desi oily foods are tasty lol.:inzi A KFC chicken tastes like cardboard to me. A good old tandoori or our very own chicken 65 wipes the floor with the KFCs and McDonalds that you find everywhere.

That is true but there is a difference in the American fastfood we get in India and the one in USA,its like Sarvana Bhavan making terrible food in America but is not that bad here.

American fastfood with "fresh cheese fries" and burgers is actually tasty, health wise is a diff issue altogether.

Yeah I understand. Love all their junk food though. Pizzas and fries.:inzi.

A perfectly made steak is a wonderful experience.

Sushi is also one of my favourite foods of all time.

I can have nihari any day of the week.

Food is all good you just have to broaden your horizons.

People in sub continent think we all eat Pizza and Burgers over here. I know that some paindoos actually make it seem like that when they go over there to show off.We mostly eat Desi food at home. Breakfast is mostly western but other than that, it is rice and rotti all day.

Western food isn't just burgers and pizzas, these are really just fast food. Personally I like both eastern and western, when I've had too many days eating asian food I'm ready for a break and vice versa.

I love our cuisine. Western cuisine...the only seasoning they know is salt + pepper.

Interesting, thanks, learned something new today.
