Been an avid observer of Pakistan cricket team and the same drama which unfolds every now and then, I have seen a similar pattern of how things go for a young and exciting cricketer in Pakistan team and how they could become better :
1) Work Hard, perform well
2) Whenever gets a chance to play for Pakistan, Play very well rather than giving mediocre results. Since the system is full of corruption and nepotism, you never know when your last day might be...
3) When get an opportunity make good connections with whichever league you play in. Play with pride. Become better at communication.
3) Remain Fit , compete with best athletes in fitness, not just some random gym person in Karachi
4) Don't waste time building connections within PCB/media/domestic setup. Because this will never last longer than few months or few weeks. My observation is that is not the long term solution. Media houses claim that because of them, some players get a chance. Not like that. Believe in your own performance.
5) Have very less media interaction. Don't fall for their trap that they will push your case to become captain one day. This never works. If they are doing this for you, they are doing this for other players. And then no body gets anything in the end..So be a man, and focus on becoming a big player rather than 30/40s run players.
6) Try to get good county/BBL deals. Don't focus on BPL/PPL/APL/ZXPL, etc. Aim should be only to play county/Big Bash.
