What changes would you like to see for PSL season 11?

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has grown into one of the most exciting T20 leagues in the world, but there’s always room for improvement! As we look ahead to PSL Season 11 (2026), what changes would you want to see to make the tournament even better?

Here are some points to consider IMO:
  • Expansion: Should PSL add a new team? Which city deserves one?
  • Scheduling: Better timing to avoid clashes with other leagues/international cricket?
  • Umpiring & Tech: More DRS, better officiating, or other tech upgrades?
  • Player Policies: More local talent opportunities, changes in drafts/retentions?
  • Fan Engagement: Improved ticketing, stadium experiences, or digital content?
  • Innovations: New rules (like Impact Player), more double-headers?

No babar or rizwan or any player not suited for t20 like saud or kamram ghulam
 
Another team is a must.

Playing at different venues like Faislabad or Peshawar.

Better overseas players preferably under 30.

Still carry on staging at the same time as IPL.

Last but not least get rid of Was, Waqar & Aamir Sohail from the commentary team.

Mark Nicholas along with Cook we’re a fresh of breath air.

Bring in bumble as guest commentator for the play offs and final.

Agreed... Play as a player and try to outshine others with their performance. Captaincy should be for someone who is young like Saim or haris for peshwar and Multan should go for Yasir or whatever.
 
Who are 8 young players that represent the brand of cricket you want Pakistan to play?

1. Saim
2. Harris
3. Nawaz
4. Nafay
5. Naeem
6. Sadaqat
7. Niazi
8. Muhammad Shahzad

These are your potential captains of all franchises going forward. You need to get out of these Babar’s, Rizwan’s, Technique’s, Saud’s etc.

The captain has to lead from the front to set the tone he wants his team to play.
 
Better drs and faster umpiring.
Better ticketing(u need to get physical tkts even if u purchased online i think a qr on mbl is enough)

Peshawar had best marketing or atleast they had stands full of yellow. So maybe other teams need to follow this

For day games invite colleges and school kids in a stand or two

Have more engaging shows with players and sport staff and one marque show with all the tech and analyst and whatever they can bring to the table

Shahid afridi, shoaib akhtar, arshad nadeem(non cricketing but still a star) these guys are superstars in pakistan so include them because they are bigger than these actors and singers in pakistan

Make sure all teams have young captains

Let teams bring big names themselves out of the draft at whatever price they can
Warner was great for karachi
There are other names that franchises can rope in with money

Make selectors attend all games as a part of their contract and make sure they follow emerging cricketers keenly
 
Need to choose venues wisely for important clashes... disappointing crowd doesn't bring good name to the brand
 
They need to go to auction rather than draft with more money for players.

Bring innovation as in impact player and so on.

Also ball speeds need to be accurate and try and have them all the time rather than one ball speed showing up after 10 overs.
 
First change, take away captaincy from Shadab & Shaheen. I think we must consider other candidates (like Farhan, Shafique)

Second change, drop Azam Khan and other unfit parchis from PSL

Third change, play more games in smaller cities to attract more crowd. Of course the facilities inside the stadiums must improve.

Stop beating around the bush and answer the question. On one hand you made a thread on future captain Asif Ali, and now you are not recommending his name. Why? Do you accept it was a bad suggestion?

The PSL should do one thing primarily. Setup Home/Away format. For all teams.

Everything else can follow after this.
 
New venues is more important than anything. This should be number 1 priority. Even one new venue will improve things big time
 
Need to move on from Zainab Abbas and Erin Holland, get more involvement from the Pakistani showbiz industry, exploit their fan following and traffic

Ah yes, the captain who took the team to the final should be removed from captaincy as he is Rizbar's rival for captaincy.
 
They really should work on their PR for now...Try to keep people engaged using social media, events or whatever but they should not let people lose interest.

Lahore didnt reached the final because of Shaheen. In fact their journey to final was made hard because of Shaheen.

I’ll say it again. Asif Ali any day as a captain over Babar and Rizwan for T20s. Probably ODI too now. Initially I said T20s, but the arrogance of you people was punished so hard that now it won’t be a farfetched idea to have Asif Ali captain the ODI side over Babar and Rizwan because of their clear flaws in leadership and their clear sense of entitlement to be selfish.

Forget about asif Ali, all we need are 33 players from KPK and problem solved.
 
Host the PSL in Punjab only.

Get rid of Bookme.pk or whatever it’s called. I tried purchasing tickets from their site back in 2020 something through jazz account, transaction would never go through but the seat would still be allocated to you.

Free tickets for kids under 10, but they must be accompanied by parents.

How is the thread not about rizwan when I literally do not want to see him again for psl 11?

If you wish to make a great cricketing franchise then remove players who are not t20 material?

Pakistan is not Australia. Aussie players even those that are unsuited for t20 cricket like Steve Smith, Labu still modify themsleves when playing big bash league.

That's not the case with rizzu

There needs to be a lot done but for me, get rid of the celebrities, they add nothing but blank faces.

Improve the marketing around the event. Try to get more public involved & for the love of god, please please reward domestic T20 players like Sahibzada Farhan with opportunities.
 
- Two new teams.
- DRS and Hawkeye available in every game.
- Auction and Budget increase.
- Additional Stadiums and Cities addition.
- Facilities in all stadiums and ease of access and transportation.
- Shift it back to Feb window because of pleasant weather.

Ideally yes but it is difficult in Peshawar and Quetta at the moment.

I said it many times that Shaheen should not have been sacked after he was made captain, but once the decision was made, Babar was the right replacement.

Too bad Babar didn’t have the spine to block the two losers Imad and Amir from returning.

Add more teams and games in Peshawar. Matches in that stadium would be packed every time. There’s a reason zalmi fans are always overshadowing other teams in the crowds, they just love their cricket more. It’s also why there’s so many kpk players in the setup now too.
 
- Keep the same window or start the PSL 2 weeks before ipl
- Increase Platinum pay to $400-300k
- Increase Diamond pay to $250-200k
- Get rid of zainab and her stinky attitude towards Hamare heroes
- Increase boundary size
- Give qualifiers to Rawalpindi
- Emerging cat. needs rejigging

Well tbf he does play the proper brand I advocate for with 2 dashing openers. He did the right thing by ensuring Saim opens and Babar bats at 3 for Pakistan….

But you advocated for the crap brand with Rizwan and Babar opening….

So why don’t you tell us more about why you religiously backed that pathetic brand?

Probably way cheaper to hire Indians to come and do it for you.
 
I want five more venues to be added to PSL. Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Gujranwala and Faisalabad. PCB will need to work with local authorities and provide them the technical assistance for upgrading the existing infrastructure. PCB obviously cannot do the whole thing on its own here. But if someone can pull it off it’s the current chairman Mr Naqvi. Maybe also get some companies like Bahria Town, Emaar and other top companies to invest in the projects on public-private ownership model. I’m sure it can be done. Otherwise it will be really hard to accommodate two new teams with the same set of venues.

Oh bhai its not that simple 🤣🤣. You have to plan in advance. Its not as simple as clicking apply.

You need to write a research proposal and then find a supervisor and since you'll be interacting with the supervisor for 3+ years you need to make sure both of you are a strong fit.

All this takes significant time and effort. Planning for a PhD is not the same as doing one within a year time.

Think about it this way, imagine if I had a research proposal and that proposal was

Muhammad Rizwan is not suited for t20 cricket.

Now imagine if i choose you as my supervisor for this topic, do you have any idea how much of a disaster it would be?
 
New venues and 70m boundaries at least. MCG is known for its large boundaries (90m straight) and they don't bring them close even in T20s. Why can't we do the same at Lahore ?
 
switching from the draft to a better system would be better. Franchises can negotiate what they will pay to the picked player. Draft system makes a lot of good players go unpicked due to the platinum, diamond etc etc categories.
