What do you make of Jasprit Bumrah's ODI stats?

I feel they are quite impressive, to have an economy of 4.6. Remember, McGrath had an economy of 3.9 in a bowler's era.

Also, remember that Bumrah has played in quite a few runfests

These are the 4 best bowlers by a distance in the world today.

Between them, it's hard to pick but personally, I would have Bumrah as second best, behind Boult.

I will be honest, I was very tempted to put Rabada at 2 and Bumrah at 3.

But I had to factor in that Rabada bowls on the friendliest pitches in the world for his kind of bowling. Apart from SA and AUS he has pretty much struggled elsewhere.

Which is why, despite Rabada's excellent test record, I just could not ignore Bumrah's ODI avg of 22 and ER of 4.6. I haven't seen figures like that since McGrath retired. And to think we are in the era of 481 inning totals.

Also, I think you are seriously underrating what Trent Boult has achieved. He is far and away, the most proven bowler of them all.

Rabada is not as good in ODIs as he is in tests. He averages 26 in ODIs but in tests, he is just remarkably phenomenal with an avg of 21.

Boult is an ATG level in ODIs but nothing more than just a country great in tests.

Well, if you play close attention to the stats, you discover a bowler who has taken his only big hauls against very weak opposition, but has remained consistently economical across his career, and always manages to buy a couple of wickets, usually bowling at the death, when batsmen are hitting out. I do believe that he is talented, and has a bright career ahead of him, also in Tests, but if you are looking for bowlers who will outright win you a match by themselves, someone like a Starc or a Kuldeep is more impactful, as, I would argue, is someone like Hasan Ali. Bumrah's ascent to the no 1 spot in OIDs is a very much a statistical phenomenon in many ways, like Imad Wasim's rise to the no 1 in T20s.

brother he is economical in odi and creates loads of pressure . bhuvi benifits most

in tests he creates pressure and takes wickets

He's the real deal. I would be very disappointed if he doesn't end his career as India's greatest ever fast bowler.

Jadhav is a fine option at 6 for the WC. He can strike at 120+ on 350 pitches. We saw what he can do in those situations in the Eng ODIs in 2017 batting at number 6 ( avg 77 and SR of 144 no NOs).

WC will be 350 matches. He's one of the few right now who has proved himself in those conditions and situations.

If he does well in NZ later this year we should be very satisfied with having him in at 6.

The problem is number 4. I honestly think Dhoni should bat there post Asia Cup.

At number 5 ideally we should have Pant. But it looks like it'll be the best from Rayadu, DK and Pandey. My money is on Pandey.
