What's new

What do you make of Rashid Khan's behaviour?

So the hate is more to do with his nationality than the behaviour itself. In my eyes still pretty....have watched him play in in Big Bash and he never was like that

Think you are missing the point again.

Seems to have some personality about him as well. Nothing major in this celebration.

Don’t mind his celebrations, he can do whatever he wants with his hand gestures (as long as it’s not abusive lol), but sometimes he over does the eyeballing and swears at the batsman, I believe he’s been fined for swearing or something, which isn’t really appreciated

But a great talent, let’s not forget

MMHS just to inform you the guy named Rashid has played most of his cricket here in peshawar where many of my friends has played with him, another thing is that he is 25 to 26 years old not 29.

Pakistan huffed and puffed their way to a last-over, three-wicket win over Afghanistan in an Asia Cup 2018 Super Four clash at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Friday. Afghanistan gave Pakistan some stiff competition but some lusty blows from the Pakistani tail and a gritty unbeaten half-century from Shoaib Malik broke Afghan hearts. Rashid Khan took three wickets in his 10 overs, giving away 46 runs but Pakistan fans were not too pleased by some of the celebrations on display by the fiery leg-spinner.

After dismissing Asif Ali and Mohammad Nawaz Nawaz, Rashid Khan gave the duo a send-off each, which didn't go down too well with some Pakistan fans.

This new trend of making news articles out of a few tweets is the worst.

What's the big deal about him being 20 and doing this? We need more youngbloods like him in cricket

I don’t mind it. His attitude is also part of who he is. If nothing else, it’s the statement of his intensity and dedication towards his nation.

And if we want to criticise Rashid then I think we’ll also have to criticise Hassan Ali and Shaheen Afridi for their antics against Afghanistan, but I don’t mind them being aggressive because it makes them who they are.

You don't become world class by beating minnows.

He is so overrated. Watch him get hammered as he plays more international teams.

Hes done well vs every international team he's played against though, in limited overs.

Big Bash - Outstanding
IPL - Outstanding
CPL - Outstanding
Natwest - Outstanding
Bangladesh - Outstanding
Pakistan - Outstanding
SL - Outstanding
WI - Outstanding (incl a 7 fer)

On and on the list goes. Hell if anything his stats will be boosted massively further when he feasts on the Aussies and co who are crap vs spin. So far hes mostly played non European sides.

It’s not his fault if he don’t get to face quality oppositions. He has proved himself in the current Asian cup against SL(2-26) Bang(2-13) and Pak(3-46) unless you don’t rate these teams as quality teams.

As they say. Spitting on the sun is a futile exercise.

Rashid beating Non-SC teams to pulp would've been held against him if he did better against them, since they can't play spin to save their lives. Rashid doing well against SC teams is his biggest challenge, since all SC players have played spin bowling since childhood.

Imagine if Rashid averaged some 15 against SENA, haters would say they can't play spin so it doesn't count lol

He lost them the game against Pakistan

He’s a quality leg spinner, every team wishes they had a bowler like him. He’s in high demand and I think he’s actually very humble, Hasan’s Ali has a worse attitude and no fuss about that.

46 for 3 in a losing effort may be decent but it isn't outstanding by any measure. If anything him getting hit for a six by a tailender turned the game around.

And whats up with the celebration why so triggered
Ok he learn Cricket from you people thats great so you people want him to bow down in front of you every time he step on the field against you

Bhai HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE
If he is 26 or 32 does that make him less talented

And I appreciate Your talent by the way by jus looking at picture you can tell exact age of people

I have already said he is a world class player so calm down. Just responding to a poster who said he is 20.

While showing a bit of character and attitude is not a bad thing, one looks a quite the fool if their team ends up losing more often than not. Sledging and such antics would look much better when you are a part of a winning (most of the times) unit. While not exactly an apple to apples comparison, but Rashid's behavior can be compared with Wahab's mustache stroking while on the cusp of a heavy defeat!

So, I think he needs to tone the whole bad boy behavior down a bit till Afghanistan is winning more games (at least against strong team) every now and then.

Pakistani fans just cannot except the fact that they were ALMOST beaten by a "minnow" team Afghanistan..
I don't want to get political but it seems most Pakistani fans on here already have done just that.
Pakistan in general does not want any success for Afghanistan, especially if its in cricket.

All this bashing on Rashid for a small celebration?? yet we have this "great Hasan Ali" and a few other Pakistani players being completely arrogant and rude, yet that is all ok?

I understand your jealousy for the ipl. But there is nothing you can do.

Slim is right. You talk as if you are distributing all that money to players from your own bank account. Never ever seen people getting this happy on behalf of rich people. :misbah

Also since you used that IPL, money and jealousy thing again I hope you don't run away if I bring this up again in a Michael Holding or Jos Buttler thread. If fans and ex players can be jealous of your IPL money then they can also praise IPL for money. It's as simple as that. :inti

Don't think the celebration was that bad tbh.

He's a world class spinner and will improve as Afghanistan play more tests.

Hasan, Asghar and Rashid fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct in separate incidents

Source: https://www.icc-cricket.com/media-releases/856525

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali, and Afghanistan’s duo of Asghar Afghan and Rashid Khan have all been fined 15 per cent of their match fees.

They have also received one demerit point each for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct in separate incidents during their Super-Four match in the Asia Cup in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Hasan and Asghar were found guilty of breaching Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game”, while Rashid was found to have violated Article 2.1.7, which deals with “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

While Hasan and Rashid have received demerit points for the first time, it is the second occasion that Asghar has been handed a demerit point within a 24-month period. In February 2017, Asghar received a reprimand and one demerit point for showing dissent against an umpire’s decision in an ODI against Zimbabwe. As such, he now has two demerit points.

The incident involving Hasan happened in the 33rd over of Afghanistan’s innings when he threatened to throw the ball towards striker Hashmatullah Shahidi after fielding off his own bowling.

As regards the incident involving Asghar, the Afghanistan captain brushed his shoulder with the bowler Hasan in the 37th over as he passed him while taking a run.

Rashid was charged and fined for giving a sendoff to Asif Ali in the 47th over of Pakistan’s innings by holding up a finger and staring at the batsman, an action that could have provoked an aggressive reaction from the departing batsman.

After the match, all the three players pleaded guilty to the offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charges were levelled by on-field umpires Anil Chaudhary and Shaun George, third umpire Rod Tucker and fourth umpire Anis-ur-Rahman.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

He has lack of manner shows his family background. Look at Tendulqar, Dravid and their attitude.

Cannot understand why Pakistanis are so bitter. Rashid Khan did nothing wrong.

What do you make of Hassan Ali’s behavior?

So Hassan is 24 and Rashid Khan looks older.

People that are older than others don't HAVE to look physically look older as well..

Like honestly speaking, Hassan looks 20 imo, but ppl only try to accuse players of being older than they are. I am 18 but I look 23/24 according to some people.

Rashid Khan doesn't even look that much older than 19 to be honest

Not saying that he definitely is 19, but also saying that he could be
