I felt like over the last couple years our team was getting better. However I feel like I am coming to realise that we are heavily and over reliant on Babar Azam.

So my question is we remove Babar Azam from all formats what’s would happen?

If we remove Babar from T20i’s what would happen to our T20 team? Would be able to win games?

Same question for ODI’s and Test matches.

If you can answer what you’d happen to all formats? Whether we have enough strength to succeed without him? And if we can who would step up to the plate?

I am not very sure about this as your question is about T20Is.

I think Shaheen is more important for Pakistan in T20s, Babar perhaps more important in ODIs and also in Tests.

However, in T20 cricket, purely on value, it is Shaheen's performance who sets it up or makes a difference in the final result for Pakistan.

Babar's strike rate of 129 is at best acceptable in T20s, it is not the deciding factor for Pakistan. The rest of the world have their best players striking at close to 140 or even more.

No matter what format we are playing, tye team becomes borderline mediocre if Babar gets out early.

The best thing about him is the fact that he knows and understands that his early wicket means that Pakistan will collapse against associates as we saw today, and thus, he decides to bat with caution mixed with intent.

Without Babar,Rizwan and Shaheen, Pak is quite average side

I think everyones over reacting. When you try youngsters this happens

Also its not only babar, shadab and imama and.rizwan were not playing aswell

Remove your best and most reliable batter and you will definitely struggle.

The problem is there are no other reliable batters. Yes you might get the odd good innings from a Pakistani batter, but very few are consistent.

Rizwan is insignificant

We are playing against the Netherlands, not Australia.

This is supposed to be the ideal series for these youngsters to debut and show their potential.

However, what we have seen is the same"Babar gone, team gone" scene with none of the youngsters stepping up.

And we are playing young players only babar and fakhar are the two senior ones.

Nothing bad has happened that everyones complaining

No wonder Pakistan don't experiment with the squad even against a team like Netherlands. This series could have easily been 2-1 to the hosts, that's how close it was. When a team like Pakistan is playing a team with no international experience you would expect them to win all the games like they did in the second ODI. So yes Pakistan cannot afford to rest Babar in any format at the moment. Without his 91, Pakistan would not have been anywhere close to 200.

Problem of not experimenting with team has put Pakistan under pressure , they need a better coach who is not afraid of loosing.

To give him some rest, to try out backups etc. If you keep playing your main XI everytime, you never develop bench strength.

Backups are tried in a cyclical order. You can't really test new 11 in a game. Plus resting Babar doesn't really make sense unless he is injured or playing way too much cricket considering he is the captain in all 3 formats. Plus Pakistan don't play much international cricket either.

Average is an overstatement. We are unequivocably poor without these three in the side, especially after the retirement of Hafeez and freefall of Hasan Ali's form.

The management is to blame too. Our bench is so raw because they never get to play. If we get injuries to our best players we are so exposed it's crazy.

I think Pakistan are reliant on Babar in Odis and t20s and I think it would be hard for any other batter to perform to Babar standard but in tests I think Saud Shakeel or Kamran ghullam can perform as good as Babar.

That's why I would say Babar is more important in odis and t20s because thiers no one in domestic who averages what he does also taking in consideration his strike rate.In test's theirs multiple playes who are averaging what Babar is averaging In domestic.

The point I’m making is without Babar I feel like we become a weak side. We are very reliant on him and to be fair he single handedly carries the batting. Even when’ we play a full strength XI, the story usually is Babar gone team gone.

My worry is we have become so reliant on Babar that we don’t really have one other top quality batsman?

Saud Shakeel is quality and should be in the xi in tests.

Theory being tested with his early dismissal.

If babar removed from all formats, pak will consistently start loosing even against bangladesh and afganistan. Most of the middle order batsman are no better than a number 7-8.
