What's new

What is the reason for Shah Rukh Khan downfall after being King Khan?

Jawan and Dunki terrible films? They were some of his best films in years. I personally watched both of them in cinema and had a great time. And I ain’t even a SRK fan.
Jawan is a garbage cringe filled film.

Basically they copied how south makes movies and made Jawan a similar rubbish movie.

Dunki is a better film for SRK but not for the director

RKH has been producing box office movies that last for decades in Indian cinematic imagination, this one was very underwhelming for those standards.
To be fair, even Sanju was abit overated with Ranbir's over acting..

Ranbir looked more like Sanjay in Animal than he did in Sanju.

SRK really needs to move on from romancing women that are half his age on screen. It just doesn’t sit right in this era…you never have a 60 year old man who has a social group of people aged 30, and has a love interest that is 25-28 in age

He should simply refuse movies that cast him with young actresses as the opposite lead
I agree , In close up shots without beard Shahrukh looks aged. He needs to transit to character roles according to his age.

I thought Sanju second half was very good,

The first half was a pointless drag. The second half needed more story time as it was a crucial part of his story and 90s Indian history. The spoilt Nepo kid+drug addict part was not really moving.

Also there should have been more emphasis on his iconic roles such as Khalnayak and Vaastav, how they changed the landscape of Bollywood etc.

Sanjay Dutt was the original G of Bollywood, all before and after were wannabes. He was the real deal!

I think SRK had to go through a John Cena face phase for 3 decades plus because of what he means to the public…although I would really like him to one day return into his vintage darker, psychotic roles.

Anjaam
RaamJane
Darr
Baazigar
Koyla (vengeance)

This is where the King was born, this is where the King must end.

Dil Se and Swades

Two of his best movies, and they are very much marketable even with the English speaking audience who like Bollywood movies with subtitles.

I think he has such a large fanbase that even his rubbish films are box office smash hits, due to his name.

The films themselves are terrible but his fans loyalty isn't diminishing.
People like masala films and if it demand theatre watch then it'll be a hit.. Same in south India too..

He still had two huge hits last year inspite of both films being mediocre, so where is the downfall at best its ups and down for him.

Because he does not admit that he is old now. And as a hero, when he tries to be young, he looks cringe.

Dunki was not that bad as it had some kind of a unique story but that Pathan movie was literally pathetic no plot at all
Dunki was terrible. The concept was promising but they totally failed to execute and they made a mockery out of a serious issue. I am actually shocked that Rajkumar Hirani, the guy who made Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, PK could make such a bad film.

When asked about SRK’s support off the field for the KKR players, Chakaravarthy added, “He said ‘it’s just a match, cricket is changing, just try to be better in the next match’. This time, I see a massive difference because the way he has been very understanding, he’s been very approachable, it has made a huge impact. I also got to meet him for the first time.”

SRK is the biggest superstar since Big B. He still commands the awe of the audience whenever he graces the podium. Such is his aura.
But he is old now and should gracefully retire. The good ting about SRK is that he does not do too much cosmetic changes to his face unlike Salman Khan and many other old stars of Bollywood.

Big fan of SRK. Always have been.

Tauqeer Nasir accuses Shah Rukh Khan of copying his roles in hit movies, demands credit

Senior Pakistani actor Tauqeer Nasir has alleged that Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan copied his work in one of his hit films without giving him due credit.

In an interview, Nasir revealed that Shah Rukh Khan often praises his work and sends his regards to various people. He acknowledged Shah Rukh Khan as a talented actor but expressed disappointment over the lack of recognition for his own contributions.

Nasir elaborated that Shah Rukh's role in the hit film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ was a direct copy of his character from the drama ‘Parwaaz’. The actor highlighted that even the detail of an injured leg, depicted in the film, was borrowed from his portrayal in the drama.

According to Nasir, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ was essentially based on the story of ‘Parwaaz’, written by the renowned author Mustansar Hussain Tarar. He asserted that Shah Rukh, and more importantly, the filmmaker Karan Johar, should have given him credit for this inspiration.

The senior actor also mentioned that he has received offers to work in Bollywood films. He recalled one particular offer where Madhuri Dixit was the lead actress, but unfortunately, he could not participate in that project.

Shah Rukh Khan In Heated Chat With Punjab Kings Owner In IPL Meeting. Report Makes Big Claim

Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan engaged in a heated argument with Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia during the IPL owners' meeting at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday, according to a report by Cricbuzz. The report claimed that the two owners did not agree on the number of retentions each side should be granted ahead of the mega auction. While SRK was not convinced that there should be a mega auction before IPL 2025 at all, Wadia was completely in favour of a complete overhaul. The report further claimed that Wadia felt that there should be very less retentions for each side - a point that was not to Shah Rukh Khan's liking.

The other owners who attended the meetings were - Kiran Kumar Grandhi of Delhi Capitals, Sanjiv Goenka of Lucknow Super Giants, Rupa Gurunath of Chennai Super Kings, Kavya Maran of SunRisers Hyderabad and Manoj Badale of Rajasthan Royals. Few of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team winners including the Ambanis of Mumbai Indians attended the BCCI meeting through video conference.

Meanwhile, during the previous IPL season this year, there were eight 250-plus totals, including the total of 287 runs posted by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the highest-ever in league's history.

Various critics, players and experts expressed their dissatisfaction with the Impact Player rule, blaming it for such unprecedented six-hitting and for stunting the growth of all-rounders as team's often chose to use a pure batter/bowler through this role instead of an all-rounder.

This rule was introduced back in 2023 season and allows players to pick an extra specialist batter/bowler depending on the situation. Nine of the ten highest total in league's history have come after this rule's introduction, highlighting the freedom, power and flexibility it adds to teams.

Though the rule was meant to expose more Indian, especially uncapped players, it was criticised by players and experts alike this season, with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma even expressing that he was not a big fan of the rule since it did not allow the development of all-rounders, a vital aspect in T20Is for India.

Somebody should make a biopic on SRK. What a story he has to tell. From nothing to a Billionaire. The man did everything.

People may not like his looks or acting/over acting. That man is the GOAT of Bollywood success. :salute

It’s like he was Tom Cruise and then turned into Dwayne Johnson; best way to see his movies

The love people have for Shah Rukh Khan is quite crazy. I was at the Dubai Downtown by chance when he came there to promote Jawan last year and the reception he got from the people there and the overall vibe in Dubai that day in anticipation of SRK made me realise he was indeed the King among all the stars for real. Probably the last of the mega stars. No new Bollywood actor is anywhere near him in stardom.

That night i played the Arabic version of Chaleya on loop :yk Its a different vibe.

Shah Rukh Khan, who once admitted to smoking 100 cigarettes a day, quits smoking

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a surprising announcement to fans during a recent meet-and-greet held in celebration of his birthday on November 2. The iconic actor, who has long been open about his smoking habits, revealed to fans that he has stopped smoking.

“There’s a good thing – I’m not smoking anymore, guys,” Khan said, sharing the news with an enthusiastic crowd.

Reflecting on the change, Khan admitted he had expected to feel less breathless after giving up smoking, but noted he still felt the effects.

“Mujhe laga tha ki I will not feel so breathless, but abhi bhi feel kar raha hu (I thought I won't feel breathless after quitting smoking, but the feeling is still there)” he explained, indicating that he is still adjusting to the change. “Inshallah, woh bhi theek ho jayega," (By God's grace, that will also be fine) he added, expressing hope that he would soon overcome any lingering symptoms.

Khan’s decision comes after years of openly discussing his smoking and caffeine habits. In a candid 2011 interview with India Today, he shared details about his lifestyle, saying, “I smoke about 100 cigarettes [a day]. I forget to eat. I don’t drink water. I have about 30 cups of black coffee and I have a six-pack.” He jokingly remarked, “The less I take care of myself, the more I get taken care of.”

Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next action thriller, King, which will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh. While earlier reports hinted he’d play a don, new updates suggest he may be portraying an assassin. The film also stars Suhana Khan, with Abhishek Bachchan taking on the role of the villain.

SRK and Selmone and Emir are all 60 now. Even the actors who debuted a decade after these 3 showed up on the silver screen are 50+.

The obsession with stars in India is unreal. They all should retire and accept they are all grandpa's age now. Putting on wigs and taking botox injections will not hide their age.

There's nothing wrong with this, he deserves his iconic status, although I'm not familiar with Bollywood, I am pretty sure he was associated with the golden age in the modern era.

But the Indian film industry needs to stop going back to the well once it's dry. Let some new talent flourish and stop milking the cow which has gone dry.

The only SRK movie I can remember watching was KKKG, some 20+ yeras ago during my uni days. Is he still doing the hero roles or has he moved to dad/grandad roles now?
