I have the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra. It's garbage, worst phone I have ever owned. What phone do you own currently?

Right now an unknown Chinese brand but trust me it's giving me all the features and performing really good. If i am getting all those features at a far lower price thn Samsung or any other top brand thn why should i waste my money on them?

I stopped using all these top brands back in 2014 and that was one of the best decision. Samsung Galaxy S4 was my last phone from a top brand back in 2013/14.

Iphone 6 and I smashed the screen on my birthday just over two weeks ago.

Samsung Galaxy S7 , the regular version.

Best Android phone I've ever owned, superb camera and absolutely brilliant screen. Battery life ain't as good as much cheaper Motorola's or Xiaomi's though. Headphone audio-output is extremely poor, the only part where I truly miss my Iphone 5s

Gifted my girl one during Flipkart sale.

How good really is the screen and camera?

Camera is miles ahead of anything I've used till now (only the Pixel beat it in 2016 according to most reviews) . Has Optical Image Stabilization and proper "pro-mode", which lets you manual focus too. Best of all it lets you shoot RAW files. Which gives you a whole lot post processing options without damaging the IQ like those Insta filters.

I own a Nikon 5500 with a regular Kit lens and do take pics of flowers and greenery a lot. A lot of people saw some of the pics I took on the S7 and mistook it for the DSLR. All of this was in bright sunlight / sunset though.
Not really tested how it'll fare in low light . And having used a DSLR, I really don't think camera tech (which is evens stevens for samsung, apple and google) / software tricks (which is what makes the Pixel cameras the best ) will truly make that much of a difference.

The screen is great , I read a lot of online content which looks so pleasing with the black background , which is absolutely black (as expected from an AMOLED screen). I've seen reviews where the other OLED manufacturers (LG being the only other major one) struggle to give the same level of Blacks (as a result contrast) as samsung . Its great for watching video. The screen is vivid like traditional samsung screens, but it doesn't look obnoxiously saturated as the past Samsung S2 to S5 models.

Overall the screens kills it in contrast and video playback, while being petty good for normal web browsing and regular use. The Moto, recent Iphones or Oneplus 5 screens don't even hold a candle. Apple made great LCD screens which are great for reading but even then both Apple and the Oneplus 5T moving towards samsung manufatured OLED screens is an indication of how far ahead samsung tech is .

Also the screen has 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD resolution, and that gives you 577 PPI , which is absolute overkill .. And it drains the battery like hell. So I and most S7 users knock down the res to 1080P for most regular usage.

Not even the iPhone X? I actually haven't met her since so haven't had a chance to see it for myself.

Managing 2 different jobs

Same here currently LG G6 for personal, iPhone 7 corporate device.

have always preferred the Android over ios and always LG flagship models over Samsung for the build quality and durability.

I was talking about pre-2017 Iphones (7 and older) . The X has a better screen than even the S8 IMO. Its brighter and colour accuracy has always been apple's strength even on LCDs, which they've perfected even in OLED (its samsung manufactured, but uses Apple's unique specifications. ) .

The problem with Samsung AMOLED screens is that , everything looks better on the phone than it would look anywhere else. This is an issue when it comes to clicking pics, because after transferring to PC, the photo won't look as good as it did on the phone.

I also use S7 regular. As long as the battery doesnt swell, its the best phone ever.

I use bluetooth headphones so audio is not much of an issue for me.

If you talk about pitch black color then its true. Otherwise AMOLED is bit on the oversaturated side.

Yeah, I've mentioned it in previous posts. But most people generally love the vividness/saturation and take it as an indicator of quality. Especially when watching videos.

Xiaomi mi max 1- amazing phone.

The battery is 4900mah last me 3-4 days.

Screen is like 65 inch - it is outdated to current phones as it's 2yrs old.

It's Android - brand new cost me £165 - came with a 2 yrs manufacturer warrantee

Is that a phone or a tv? :murali :yk

Would you recommend it? I'm debating between S8 and Note 8 right now. Or maybe I'll wait for the 9 series but that will be too expensive.

Wait for the foldable Galaxy X next year. I'm waiting for it as well.

I heard Samsung may only release 100,000 of those and most of them in Korea/China.

That'll be the initial phase, and it's expected to be launched in those places during the first half of 2018. Samsung wants to further refine the product based on user experiences before finally releasing it worldwide. It's expected to be released worldwide next year. I can't wait.

Many people dislike the muddy-ness of colorful pictures.

Just get the OnePlus 5T

I have the One Plus 3... and the 5T is an undoubtedly good phone but I want to explore some other manufacturer and see what they got. I've never had a Samsung phone so I want to experiment with them, or maybe I'll try out the Pixel 2 XL. Waiting on good Black Friday deals for both.

I always feel that people using phablet phones are super awkward, especially when making phone calls. Seems like they are over-compensating .

Note 8 has the stylus , so getting it would depend on whether you like using it or not . Otherwise the S8+ is better, as it is almost as big as the Note 8 and uses the extra space from not having a stylus to pack a bigger battery.

Just get the OnePlus 5T

Its just the Oppo R11 with better specs. One-plus for all its geeky brand image, basically rebrands Oppo and Vivo phones (same parent company) and puts higher specs in the phone (like carmakers putting bigger engines for premium variants) , to target the power user demographic.

The screen of the 5T is finally AMOLED, manufactured by samsung, but it's still not good as either samsung's own screens. Also the camera ain't that great.

Still, Oneplus is the best selling premium android phone brand in India, so who am I to complain.

But they surely did shortcharge the customers by pulling out the Oneplus5 just 5 months after launch and then launching the 5T at THE SAME PRICE. Oneplus wanted to wait so that enough AMOLED screens were available from Samsung . Also I don't like why they still dont give waterproofing and wireless charging - which you now get in Samsung phones in the same price range.

I'd say go for the pixel if you wan't the best camera and fast Android updates. Otherwise the Samsung flagships give almost comparable performance, a very capable interface (touchwiz) - not as blazing fast as stock, but nowhere near as laggy as in the past and the best Screen on android ever. Also they've fixed the audio output issue from the S7, now the 8's come with Sony's LDACs (for great Bluetooth audio) as well as a Headphone jack (which the pixels dont have anymore). Samsung pay is also a standout feature, which works on older POS machines too, unlike Apple Pay or Beam. That is such a convenience, here in India.

I would also suggest the new U11 update model from HTC, it's being reviewed as the best allrounder phone of 2017.

I currently have an iphone6s . The reasons why I have it as the phone is extremely durable, updates make the phone last a little bit longer and I used to like the crisp icons unlike that the on Android. Unfortunately after this years update the icons resemble more like the Android ones.

I am not a heave gamer or snap chat person, which is why I had a Blackberry Q10 before. I would have never changed that phone but the battery is horrendous. If they make a better update than that I will revert back to using Blackberry.

Just ordered iPhone SE 16 gb online with a black friday deal, should get it by Tuesday Insh'Allah, as I mentioned in a thread like this I've been very patient with my piece of ____ LG phone, with the "g" in LG standing for godforsaken, lags and freezes when you need it the most, this too after just 6 months since purchase. That was a run-on sentence, but I just feel pure freedom right now.

I don't care what these whiners say about apple, I've had it with having these chump like phones and it's time I make my mark on the social ladder with an apple phone of my own. Can finally feel at home with my Arab friends.

Note 5.

Had a Galaxy S7 before but I ended up dropping a dumbbell on its screen.

Agreed. Nearly all of my friends using LG G2-5 are fed up for same reasons. They even got a ticking timebomb in them (the fatal bootloop issue).

Should have tried Samsung though. IPhone sucks.

Bro I wish you replied to me sooner. Samsung S8 was like 30% off, instead I cancelled the SE order and ordered the iPhone 6 instead :)). Am kind of regretting it, but it's been shipped, so it's whatever. I've never had an apple phone in my life save for the first ever one which I used last year as a placeholder, but can't really judge a 9 year old product in 2016.

Honestly a brick phone, or even an actual brick, is better than LG. Surprisingly good camera though. 13 MP.

Where the heck did you get S8 for 30% off?!?!?!? I kept looking and looking and couldn't find any deals on the S8... talking about unlocked.

Will you ever buy one again? :D

Verizon was offering it for 15 per month instead of the usual 30, for 24 months.

It was this supplier on Amazon where I saw it. The available in stock went from like 12 to 3 in two hours lmao and started to panic. Wish I'd research a bit few days prior, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to phones.

I will vote for Trump on my own behalf and donate to his campaign in 2020 than ever buy a phone from that demonic company.

Maybe your particular device was defective. LG produces excellent products overall.

And alot of other things as well. Not your fault you get substandard education in third world USA :ibutt

Fridges, deepfreezers, TV's, etc, for sure. But not phones. Don't think I'm alone on this. This was the 2nd LG phone I had, and same result. Have heard the same from people I know.

^but nah me and Syed1 have our own inside joke with us vs can in every tp thread.

If you had asked me before, I would have suggested you to get OnePlus 5T instead, its as good as S8, XL 2, iPhone X (better ways to unlock phone) but at lower price tag,

iPhone 6 is bit too old, camera lacks OIS, for me it was pure torture. You cant download and send mp3 file via bluetooth, let alone downloading installable apps through browser. Its only good for sleek n fast UI.

One Plus 5T is awesome, but one thing it lacks in is the camera. Google, Samsung and Apple all have substantially better cameras than it.

iPhone 7 plus. Great phone. Had it for over a year now and runs fantastic.

An iPhone 7 Plus for my workphone and an iPhone 6 as a personal phone.

Although I am not meant to use my workphone for personal use I pretty much use it for everything as the plan is unlimited and everything is paid for by the firm. Just gotta keep an extra phone for show.

The workphone is due to be replaced by the firm soon and really hope they get us an iPhone X instead of an iPhone 8.

What's your opinion on the 6?

Price difference is sizeable between 6 and 7 hence why I'm getting the former.

The 6 has served me very well and is still going strong.

Comparing my iPhone 6 with my dad's iPhone 7, the differences seem insignificant both in terms of functionality and design - I often confuse my phone with his.

True, although they've improved it much in recent update, but still there's a little difference between them and other flagships. But I won't mind having that difference for 500$ phone.

Guess you never used your dad's camera then :kp

That's true... I have the OnePlus 3 and I'm looking to upgrade. Initially I was thinking between Pixel 2 XL or S8 but then the 5T came out and now I'm very confused.

Bang for buck = OnePlus 5T

Have S10 right now but I will switch to iPhone sooner or later. Most likely when the next one comes out.

Still typing from the same Samsung Galaxy S8.

What an epic smartphone it is.

iPhone X, because that is what my job has given me, going over to 11 soon, but personally I liked size of IPhone 6-8 best.
