What sort of batting tactics are Lahore Qalandars employing?

What are these guys doing? Not a single one of the top order batsmen is trying to build a partnership. Zaman has played well but his lusty blows have made it to the boundaries instead of the fielders hands. What sort of tactics are these guys applying with such a batting heavy side!

When you are 5 down, then you should tone it down and that would be the only criticism of the approach.

However, I would love to see this again and Sharjah will be flat, so the gung-ho tactic will be fruitful there.

Really loved it.

This is the dumbest batting I've seen in a long time.

Expected better from McCullum.

It's the McCullum philosophy. He probably forgot that these Pakistani bats aren't used to hitting big or playing this aggressively.

It was dumb. There's a difference between controlled aggression where yes you look to play positively and go for your shots, and brainless recklessness which is what this display was from LQ.

In T20s you still need to run the 1s and 2s, find the gaps and build partnerships not slog every ball out the stadium like its Stick Cricket. You have to respect the good bowlers.

Need some adjustement like delport in for some stability...
But i am loving this approach.

The problem is they probably thought they bat till 10 but sohail and bilo can't bat and rizzu is in pathetic form.
Even though it's good for rizzu to be in lahore .

Fakhar was the only one who was playing a T20. The other were playing a 10-10 or a 5-5.

Pakistanis not really used to it. Except U. Akmal the others like to tuk tuk till the 15th over.

Akmal has two ducks in the three innings of this PSL. Perhaps Akmal needs to employ some tuk tuking to score a run.

This is a false choice between extreme tuk tuk and extreme brainlessness - fans seem to forgive the latter because of the supposed "aggressive mindset" behind it but both lead to costly outcomes.

T20 is not Hong Kong Sixes, there's still room for sensible rotation of strike and LQ failed to respect what is one of the strongest bowling attacks in the tournament in Peshawar Zalmi.

This same approach is what cost New Zealand the 2015 WC final when McCullum tried to slog the best bowler of the tournament in Mitchell Starc out of the stadium in the very first over.

But if LQ fans are happy with this approach, their rivals can breathe easy as they won't last long.

Looking at the scorecard - why isn't Afridi captain of his PSL team?

They're playing for scores of 200+ but these pitches don't allow that. Reckless batting.

I can understand that this is the way Mccullum plays but if they continue to play like this they won't be in the next Round because Pitches are not conducive to batting like this
