What target would Pakistan like to set here with sufficient time to bowl out the West Indies?

My guess would be a target of 325 to play it safe and declare before the final hour of 4th day.

Try to pick a couple of wickets before the end of days play and come hard again on the 5th day with full 90+ overs in hand.

Score 170 in 50 overs, that's a target of 300, while you also get some overs to bowl to them today.

id say 300 to feel safe but anything over 220-230 is a winning lead IMO . WI will struggle if they come out and try to have a go because so many of their players are limited technically and in experience at this level. Should get to 170 - 180 by the end of the day then declare and have the whole day to bowl WI out on Day 5 which i expect us to do.

Yup 280-300 should be a defendabe score here. If they can do it with 10 overs to spare today, it would set it up really well.

This session will decide the series.

Not this session, but the afternoon session. These two staying till lunch is more important than an extra 15 runs right now. Those 15 runs can be made up and more with an hour of Sarfraz before tea and really demoralise the Windies.

May be worth promoting Sarfraz up the order.

I think that will happen if the top three can set the table for him, even if it means that they tuk tuk for 2.3 RPO for an hour at the start.

Well, given that there is no big pressure, Pakistan should be batting around 55 overs and score 210 at around 3.8 RR (considering Misbah and Sarfaraz teeing off at the end, this isn't too outlandish to expect).

A Target between 320-340 with 15 overs to bowl at Windies. Pakistan should be bold enough to realise that no way a score of 280+ is going to be chased on a last day wicket where both team have scored around 3.5/over in the 1st innings. Hopefully Misbah doesn't goes back into the shell if a couple of quick wickets fall.. Scoring 180 ar around 3.5 is not demanding.

They will start playing cautiously now after losing 2 wkts in this session.

Pakistan needs to bowl the last 10-15 overs. WI is not chasing anything over 250. Longer Pakistan bats, easier it will be for WI to draw this test.

They'll tuk tuk all day and score at 2 rpo and probably want to bat a session tomorrow as well if possible lmao.

Haha first we need toanage a substantial score ATM it looks like we might be 35/7 again

We need 350 plus but we will end up with a target of 220.

West indies is going to take the series.

That will increase WI chance of drawing this test. WI can still get bowled out in 2 sessions, but it will be a lot easier for them to survive 50-60 overs than 100 overs.

Pakistan just needs to score 160-170 runs to take it out of reach of WI and for that they don't need to play too fast.

Yep, this is the worst case scenario but all is not lost yet. Unfortunately we need Shan to prove the critics wrong and bat for another 45-60 minutes with Younis.

Hoever, all true cricket aficionados know that will never happen because there is no way that Misbah could possibly finish his career before coming out at 30/3 one final time so brace yourself for another wicket right after lunch.

Are you talking about the overall lead of 160-170 here? If yes then they need to score just 30 more runs and for that they can take a full session here.

280 is more than enough. Need at least 100 overs to bowl out WI considering the rain factor.

lol, no I was talking about Pakistan adding 160-170 runs in this inning. Just play normally for the next 20 overs then accelerate in the last 25-30 overs. That will allow to bowl 10 overs. Now WI will be praying for another 1(51) kind of knock.

Pakistan is more likely to win if they get bowled out in the next 50-55 overs, otherwise I doubt that Misbah will declare it.

350 plus. That is more than safe. Dont think so windies can chase more than 260 on the last day. I reckon 350+ lead and windies are out of the game.

300. Anything above that and WI won't chase.

That's why it's good to dangle the carrot with 270-280 runs or if Pakistan gets bowled out today then WI may decide to chase it. These two cases maximizes the chance of Pakistan winning this test.

Pak has this one in the bag. You can take it to the bank. No other result possible.

There is always rain around the corner. If we get a full day or even two-thirds of a day then Pak should win with ease.
