What's new

What was the last thing you ate?

Ok as requested, the recipie for the Califlower curry -

For cauliflower:

2 T canola oil

1 t fennel seeds

1/2 t methi seeds

1 t brown mustard seeds

1/2 t turmeric

1/2 t sea salt

1/2 cup of vegetable broth or stock

1 cauliflower, rinsed and separated into florets

3 T chopped and rinsed cilantro, for garnish

additional sea salt, to taste

Method:

For making the nut-spice paste:

Dry-roast the macadamia nuts in a small frying pan. Set aside. Dry roast the coriander seeds, khus-khus, and black peppercorns. Transfer the spices to a large mortar and grind with a pestle. When the coriander is in powdered form, add the ginger and macadamia nuts. Grind until a paste is formed. The paste will be powdery, but somewhat clumpy from the oils in the nuts and seeds. Set aside.

For making the cauliflower:

Heat oil in a pot on medium heat. Add methi seeds, fennel seeds, and brown mustard seeds. When mustard seeds begin to pop, add the nut-spice paste, turmeric, and salt. Stir well and continue to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly to keep paste from burning. At this point, add the cauliflower and broth. Stir well, decrease heat to low, and cover the pot. Cook for about 10 - 15 minutes, or until cauliflower is tender. Add extra salt to taste, if desired. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Sushi at Harrods that cost more than i want to mention :O

Tres delicious though.
But not in proportion to the cost!

And, as i mentioned in the Brum thread, I saw Nantie Hawyard there with his wife and mother-in-law and shook his hand!

I wish...my wife made 8 samosas last night for 4 of us - and whilst the kids were having a bath etc, I ate them all.

Serves them right for leaving them unattended...
