Congrats to all PPers on this amazing victory. :shafiq2

I think it's fair to say Pakistan won every session bar the last one yesterday.

What do you think was the turning point in this Test match?

For me, I would say it was when Buttler and Stokes got dismissed in very quick succession in the 1st innings.
Those two are aggressive players who were looking good and could have made Pakistan pay. Once they were dismissed, the tail was in and Pakistan removed the lower order quickly.

From there on, Pakistan had momentum and would have been very motivated and from there on, we bossed the game.

What would you say was the turning point?

Pakistan won almost all the sessions right from the start. Hence the only tuning point I can think of is England winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Don’t think the result would have been much different even if they had bowled first though.

I'm not sure if there was a turning point as the match was all one way traffic.

But Azhar and Haris's partnership in the last hour of the first day, after Imam's early dismissal, in gloomy weather was absolutely vital in providing a good foundation for the middle order to get us a lead.

One sided victory.

England managed to win only 1 session, Pakistan won all other sessions. No turning point.

Shadab-Faheem partnership.

In the old timid tuk tuk Pak team - we would have lost the plot and collapsed.

I if have to pick one I will say Faheem's wicket of Bairstow in the first innings.

At that time partnership was building and both the batsmen were set so wicket at that time was crucial.

For me it was in 2nd Innings Sarfraz's one handed catch off Amir which broke the parteneship and resulted in a collapse which left Root without any partners. Or they were looking set for a big one as the pitch flatened out and wickets in hand. Even 150 was too much with one main bat short.

No turning point. Pakistan was better from ball one.

The turning point has been our excellent prep. Playing a practice game and a test match in Ireland and then another practice game in England has proven a master stroke for our prep for England.

I think, PAK won 9 of the 10 session, with 7 by clear margin; therefore it's difficult to pin point one incident. Overall, it was domination from one step to next; even 3rd evening, Poms were just trying to clutch a straw, it still ended 56/6 with 2nd ball due in next morning, so they had really no chance.

Still, if I am to pin point one incident, I'll take the ball of the Test - Amir knocking out a well-set Cook. Had he stayed there, and Stokes at other end, with the fitness level of PAK pacers, it could have ended Day 1 like at 273/8, and it was a different ball game all together. That was an absolute unplayable ball - even a set Cook wasn't good enough to touch it. And, Amir did it 2nd time as well taking out Malan & Johny in one over, but game was almost won by then.
