Ehsan Mani has seen enough of Pakistan cricket in various roles and certainly in the current one - to do the following in the next 30 days:

1. Write a white paper on Pakistan Domestic Cricket. It doesn't matter if the contents are debatable or controversial. It matters that he puts his viewpoint out there. All stakeholders can then debate and eventually a final strategy can take shape. Lose the fear of putting yourself out there.
2. Write down his 5 performance goals for 2019. Again, there will be debate but important everyone knows what his priorities are regarding all matters Pakistan cricket this year. The team has a performance problem and it needs a strategy intervention.
3. Hold a press conference and share his thoughts for Pakistan cricket's growth. Particularly test cricket, women's cricket and A Team. When there is sharing, it takes away speculation and excess negativity.

Mani can do endless management meetings and hear countless presentations in the safety of his boardroom, what matters for a good CEO is to communicate and lead.

Have to say he has been missing in action a bit.
I cant shake the feeling he is completely intimidated by the pace of change since the last time he was in charge of anything cricket related.

My 2 cents...

1- Do not look for short term fixes.

2- Make sure that only deserved players (U-16/U-19 or international team) get selected no nepotism (this is the hardest part)

3- Hire key coaches at domestic U-19 U-16 level. (Miandad/Shoaib Akhtar) Do not worry about money but have a check and balance system where you tell them that provide us a pool of players who will compete at the U-19 international level.

4- Once you have the players from U-19 you hand them over to the NCA where you also have top coaches who can groom them further. Off course the players at the sametime will be playing domestic/PSL/leagues and other tournaments to get experience.

5- With the above have top physio/trainers so that they can be at the top of their fitness. All goes hand in hand.

We can't just hire a top coach at International level and expect he 'll fix everything.

He'll do for the next 30 days, what he has been doing for 4 months. Remain a rubber stamp chairman taking a salary without doing anything. Hands-off approach to let the cronyism and corruption prosper in PCB. He'll ask critics to wait before his hired MD comes in after 2 months. Until that time just stay silent and let the cricket structure implode.

Chief selector Inzamam will use him for a signature to make any team he wants with no. of family members in the squad. Cricket committees and subordinates will use him to siphon off funds from the domestic stucture and the PSL preparations.

The way cricket team has been put under pressure and the way cronies like Inzamam are being encouraged is a rare example. Only Shaheryar Khan matches his performance.

In last few months, team management has been put under pressure by his installed cricket committee with jokers like Mohsin Khan heading it and himself by making silly statements.

All this has helped Inzamam, the selectors and nepotism he has pushed in the team.

Ehsan Mani has been poison for the domestic players. The uncertainty over the department teams in the next season. PSL draft organized before the National T20 Cup, the facilities provided to players in QAU trophy where staff and players were having arguments over the pathetic conditions like toilets and dressing room and encouraging Inzamam to pick his nephew and senior friends in the team without any oversight.

Imran Khan appointed him to clean up the system MAni has instead made corrupt stronger than ever. Now thanks to him PM Imran Khan is being bashed for appointing Mani.

So far he is doing the right thing by analyzing, observing and giving everyone space in their roles. He is also doing the right thing in his capacity to bring in the best professionals though I disagree with his decision to bring in TTF's like Shafqat Naghmi (who had corruption allegations under him under Nasim Ashraf) and Wasim Bari.

Like the team, the PCB needs new young fresh blood as well. Need to purge the Board of TTF's.

The Cricket Committee was a good step but it needs to be more active and needs some level of decision making authority.
