The potential second Trump presidency could have significant implications for Muslims globally. During his first term, Trump's administration implemented policies such as the travel ban on several Muslim-majority countries and increased scrutiny on Muslim immigrants.

These actions led to heightened Islamophobia and discrimination. If re-elected, similar policies might be reinstated or intensified, potentially exacerbating tensions and impacting Muslim communities worldwide. The global Muslim population may face increased challenges in terms of travel, immigration, and social integration.

How do you think these potential policies might affect the daily lives of Muslims in different countries? What steps can communities take to support each other in the face of such challenges?

There won’t be much change, people who don’t like Muslims will continue to dislike them and others who like them will continue to like them.
Those who don’t care about them won’t care either ways irrespective of who is the president.

The impact he can have on Muslims is away from America, in Middle East, if he can bring stability to the region and stop wars/genocide/terrorism etc in that part of the world.

It might be beneficial to Muslims around the world. In retrospect he withdrew from the Afghan war, and despite the rhetoric for the benefit of getting the struggling white vote onside, he has been less war-mongering than Obama, Biden and the Democrats in general. He is mostly concerned with America at home so any Muslims living there will adapt, and most of them are probably politically more aligned with the Republicans anyway.

Overall bad.

People living in USA, would be miserable.

In the middle east, there would be more war and genocide. Having good relationship with Trump, might enforce Saudi to steer away from Iran and creates more division, even though I hope the opposite happens due to strong empowerment of Israel from the side of USA. But the chances are limited for that to happen.

For South Asia, this could be good in the longer run though. India will be strengthen and in returns all the rest of the countries in the regions would be pushed towards China more, resulting more bussiness and millitary options from China.

Donald Trumo has no problem with people who practice a moderate version of Islam and are not a threat to civilisation and sovereignty of non Muslim nations.

If Donald Trump goes by his policy of "America First" then that policy itself will be massive relief for Middle East and Pakistan alone.

Let's really hope for peace for a change. Trump is far from an ideal candidate but he has that authoritative style that might bring peace across the world.

Anyway here it goes

Muslim countries beneficial to Trump will prosper- like Saudi Arabia and some other Arab countries.

Muslim countries they think are of no value will be ignored and continue living the same lives. Case in point Thrid world developing Islamic nations.

Muslim countries that are deemed a threat will be treated as such.

This is not unique to Trump, that’s how America’s policy has always been.

This is correct mostly...except it applies to all third world countries, Muslim or not. Does Donald Trump give a crap about Sri Lanka or Zambia? Probably not.

America First really does just mean that. Trump doesn't think the USA can dominate the global stage by allowing equal opportunity, so his policies are going to be punitive tarrifs to enter the US market. While America was benefiting from global trade that wasn't an issue, but with China rising, they will not be allowed that opportunity. India is not really on the horizon as a competitor, but if that came to pass, same would be true for them.

Dude: you have no idea what you are talking about, sorry to say.

Muslims in America are never aligned with Republicans.... ever! All the wars started by the US were under republican presidents, and Trump was itching to attack Iran during his first term, had it not been for his generals who stopped him from starting a full blown war with them.

His son in law is Jewish and he and his family have had vested interest in Israel, they want to clear out Gaza and get rebuilding contracts there, Trump himself is keenly interested in "all that real estate", if I remember that's how he described it once.

Muslims have always struggled and seen the rise of Islamophobia under republican rule.

In summary, you could swap the terms "Republicans" and "Dems" from your post and it would probably make more sense.

But the bottomline is, its not a whole lot better under Dems thanks to their inaction in Gaza, which is really what cost them the Muslim vote, but it was a short sighted move from American Muslims in my view.

He calls them names. But he was currying favour with Muslim voters.

* deliberate spelling mistake

Always sounding off as the victim.

Voluntary muslim migration to judeo-christan land of amreeka continues unabated. Involuntary deportation is their only exit.

Facts vs. opinion are contradictory. The boy who cries wolf comes to mind.

Islamophobia has declined in the US/West since Covid and I expect it to continue, Trump or no Trump.

This post makes as much sense as the worst nonsense from some non American non Muslim expressing his expert opinion on American Muslims. LOL

Ukraine is now effed. So is Gaza.

Saudis & Russia will be happy, not so much China & Iran.

India will be happy - huge Indian American support for Trump this election.

I expect Israel-Iran war & Russia-Ukraine war to end within the next few months.

Business and Money trumps war and destruction.

How do you anticipate this will happen? Trump does not have a magic wand that he will wave and things will go back to normal.

I wish it were all that simple.

Expect rising islamphobia In west, tommy robinson supporters etc

And israel given a freehand for more destruction in the middleeast and attacking Iran.

Point to note are messiahs followers like bewal who are happy on trump victory they would support a racist , misogynist, convicted fraudster as president because he may get their leader released and bring more harsher sanctions on pakistan and support a more belligerent india towards pakistan.
That's all you need to know about the cults followers.

Tbh don't expect much from Trump besides ending war in Gaza and beyond. But his real goal should be establishment of Palestine as a proper state. Muslims there don't need another Yasir Arafat type lure.

If he could do so, then he would have a great legacy. No need to worry for reelection so great opportunity for him to cover up his old crimes

Russia-Ukraine war ending is almost inevitable. It's continuation is extremely dependent on US and European money. Trump will cut the spigot off immediately and Ukraine will have to surrender. Putin will get the provinces Russia's already conquered and a Ukraine commitment to not join NATO. It'll remain a festering wound though that'll spike up periodically.

Israel Gaza is more tricky. Really depends on what Israel's endgame is. Trump will support to the hilt but the money will probably dry up.

clear out the Muslim settlements/camps, drive them out and settle the Jews there. Its rather simple, isn't it? Trump and his son in law are all in for that. They want to be the ones doing the rebuilding and real estate investors there.

If anything Trump will like to end this war quickly.... by accelerating it or completely looking the other way while the Israelis continue with the genocide. The naive Pakistani Muslims who believe Trump is some sort of a Messiah for the Palestinians are up for a rude awakening.

Yeah kushner is quite open about his plans.

The one thing I could believe of Trump is that he'll cut down funds flowing to Israel. If you see the spike below, there's been a massive expansion of aid to Israel in the last year. That Trump is likely to stop. It's the main thing he's been consistent on.

On everything else, you're absolutely right. Netanyahu and the Israeli extremists will feel especially emboldened to continue on whatever absurd plan they have.

Maybe @Champ_Pal believes Hamas and the few Palestenians supporting them will realise the cause is hopeless, surrender and give up the remaining hostages which will finally end the war. I think that's an absurd interpretation since Hamas has no option but to fight this out to the end - Trump or no Trump.

Can you explain this part? How can he be "consistent" when he held no power in the last four years? Or are you simply stating that he has been consistent in "stating" tht he will cut that funding?

Quite honestly, I did not pay much attention to this election cycle bakwas so I don't even know what he did or did not say.

Pakistanis, also tend to believe -- very strangely if I may add, that Trump will get IK released and back in power.

Some of the stuff they believe is laughable!

I think his actions (during his prior Presidency) and statements (during this campaign) have been prettty consistent (well as consistent as a weirdo like him can be) in disengaging from the world - pulling back funding from the UN, NATO and other such multilateral agencies, cutting funding even to military bases in strategic locations like South Korea and Japan. He'll pay plenty of lip service but not much else.

The Pakistani Doctors Association in the States endorsed Trump and donated half a million to his campaign on the hope that he'd get Imran Khan released. He probably made some promise. He makes a dozen a day and forgets about them the next day. More fool them for believing him.

Pakistani doctors tend to be naive when it comes to politics. I know a lot of business owners who did the same.

It will backfire. Trump will do nothing in Pakistan.

There is really no such political demographic as “American Muslim”.

There are the black people of “nation of Islam” origin who have Muslim names but unless it is a personal choice to be religious, most are just like every other African-American.

The white collar Indian, Pakistani Muslims like doctors, engineers, it folk see themselves as a larger “South Asian” demographic.

The blue collar Muslims you wonder how they even migrated to USA from Africa, Bangladesh, Pak and maybe from India like cab drivers, street vendors and others don’t really have a voice.

The Arabs, Turks, Persian types consider themselves white and distance from any other identities.

So “American Muslim” voter demographic is a myth.

This kind of stuff exists in maybe India or even some Europe countries but is totally negligible in USA .

Same goes for Indians (Hindus or Muslims) who think they have any say in the elections either.

When I said Muslims were probably politically aligned with Republicans I should probably have said ideologically aligned, that would have been closer to what I meant. Basically Muslims tend to be more conservative and less liberal/woke so in that way their thinking is closer to Republican than Democrats.

As for the rest of it, not sure it makes much difference to Muslims around the globe. Whoever is at the helm in the US is going to back the genocide in Palestine. Trump is just more upfront about it than Biden. I think policy in the middle east tends to remain pretty constant regardless of who is the President.

Trump will give Israel ‘blank check’ which may mean all-out war with Iran, says ex-CIA chief

Donald Trump will as president give Benjamin Netanyahu a “blank check” in the Middle East, possibly opening the way for all-out war between Israel and Iran, the former CIA director and US defense secretary Leon Panetta predicted.

“With regards to the Middle East, I think he’s basically going to give Netanyahu a blank check,” Panetta said of Trump, who won the presidential election this week and will take office again in January.

“‘Whatever you do, whatever you want to do, whoever you want to go after, you have my blessing.’ I mean, he basically said that [before the election].”

The Israeli prime minister has overseen attacks on Iran and its assets as part of a growing conflagration since Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October last year. He and the US president-elect were reported to have spoken during the US election campaign. Netanyahu congratulated Trump on Wednesday, after Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris was confirmed.

Panetta continued: “And so the real question there is whether Netanyahu decides to continue to try to expand that war, go after Iran, or do things that basically create an even greater concern about whether or not the Middle East is ever going to resolve itself or be in constant conflict.”

Speaking on the One Decision podcast, which he co-hosts with Sir Richard Dearlove, a former head of MI6, the British intelligence service, Panetta also said he expected Trump to favour allowing Russia to retain control of areas of Ukraine held since its invasion two years ago.

Most observers think Trump’s election is bad news for Ukraine, which the Biden administration has backed with military aid. Many analysts suggest Trump will be less constrained by advisers than during his first four years in office, free to do as he pleases while in thrall to Vladimir Putin, the Russian president he has long admired.

Panetta, however, said he doubted Trump would be given a free hand.

“That’s going to take some negotiation,” Panetta said, of Russia-Ukraine. “And I would not put Mr Trump in charge of that because, you know, he sat down with [the North Korean dictator] Kim Jong-un for three meetings and wasn’t able to cut a deal.

“And so what I would do is … select somebody with experience, a secretary of state, secretary of defense, and put him to work to try to really develop what would be a fair deal for Ukraine and allow Russia to sign off on the thing as well.

This is Trumps last shot at fixing the wrongs. He will be in a no-fear mode. He has nothing to lose.

His tone has already changed towards Middle East. He has toned down his rhetoric. He is talking global peace.

His legacy could end on the ultimate high - putting Amreeka back on the map thus starting the Trump dynasty in politics.

Muslims should trust Allah swt , not some political leader .

Muslims have authentic hadeeth on end times , and that is something they should believe in them.

Nothing is going to change. Trump is just talk. US policies rarely deviate much from the established norms. Presidents have very little wiggle room. Besides he will be focused on making money, figuring out ways to get his legal problems taken care of. He has only four years, no chance of election so why would he use the incendiary rhetoric or policies to appeal to his base when he won’t be running again?

Many celebrities threatening to leave US.

But no muslims in this list though. Happy campers. Permanent ones indeed.

Which Muslim celebrities were you thinking of? I don't really know the US scene but Muslim celebrities don't exactly ring a bell.

This isn't true, 70℅ of Muslims voted for Bush in 2000. And most wars - Korea, Vietnam and both world wars were started under democratic presidents

2000 was an aberration. Muslims have rarely thrown their support fully behind conservatives.

Also the parties have changed their ideologies significantly since the days of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Dems were really the conservative and the GOP were liberals and those ideologies switched.

Typically, its the conservative party that starts wars in a vast majority of cases. Reagan, Bush senior, Bush Junior, Nixon actually accelerated the Vietnam war.

He has looked more level headed so to speak in this election campaign than he looked back in 2016. Maybe he now understand the nuances and intricacies of what really happens from the seat of Presidency.

Its a bit sad that you actually have to spell that out in this information age.

Yes, the famous conservatives harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson.

One of the most isolationist politicians in the cold war was Senator Robert Taft, an arch conservative.

The party flip is partially true, before the 1960s both parties had a liberal and a conservative wing.

Do you actually believe that Fdr, truman and jfk were conservatives or that coolidge and Hoover were liberals

US charges Iranian man in plot to kill Donald Trump, Justice Dept says

The United States has charged an Iranian man in connection with an alleged plot ordered by Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump, the Justice Department said on Friday.

In a statement, the department said that Farhad Shakeri had informed law enforcement "that he was tasked on October 7, 2024, with providing a plan to kill" Trump, the department said. Shakeri allegedly told law enforcement he had no plans to formulate a plan to kill Trump within the IRGC's timeline.

The department described Shakeri, 51, as an IRGC asset residing in Tehran. It said he immigrated to the U.S. as a child and was deported in or about 2008 following a robbery conviction. Shakeri is at large and believed to be in Iran, the prosecutors said.

Two New York residents whom Shakeri had met in prison, Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt, have also been charged for helping Shakeri plot to kill a U.S. citizen of Iranian origin in New York, described as an outspoken critic of Iran's government who had previously been targeted for murder.
