If they select Shaheen Afridi absence of Abbas's would be a good thing as he was not as threatening as against Australia, although keeping it tight , for what ever reason injury, fatigue, or good planning and batting by kiwis. Shaheen will also get opportunity to experience a test match before the big SA series.
As far result of this match is concerned it will be a tight match with momentum shifting toward both teams with Pakistan winning eventually.

Pakistan wins the toss and bats first they win otherwise it will be NZ if they score 250+ in the first innings because the men in green struggle when they are trailing a lead especially in the 4th innings.

When Misbah was captain, Pakistan also failed to beat NZ in 2014 for the same reasons. They don't bat well second which unfortunately has always been the case when they haven't bowled teams out cheaply whether it be in LOIs or tests historically.
