What a poor start, loosing to Sri Lanka who were recently thrashed by India. In my view he will only defeat Zimbabwe next year and will get slaughtered by Australia, Southafrica, England , he is not even fit enough to be compared with Misbah in Test cricket, as long as Babar Azam, a 20 Average player even Faisal Iqbal has 26 average, and he calls himself second coming of Virat, he is not even half the player Virat is, I expect him to become a 25 average player max, only Azhar and Asad have to stay in next series, and the less said about Masood the better, he is playing ahead of Hafeez who is in my view 100x the player he ever be plus Hafeez is best bat in UAE conditions, the way he counter attacked Southee, Boult, Anderson and broad and scores daddy hundreds, its not even close and then we have unfit Amir, the man living on first England tour, and at the last keep yourself prepare for whitewash galores in upcoming year and make threads of Babar azam average going above 20, going below 20, Amir the next Ishant Sharma, Sarfaraz is fat and disinterested

Sarfraz can achieve only as much as the team allows him to achieve. He is not a game-changing player so he is not going to change the fortunes of the match with his bat.

He is an okay player who is neither good or bad. However, he has shown enough tactical acumen to indicate that he maximize the potential of the team which sadly is not great at all. What can he achieve as captain? sadly not much.

This is a rubbish team that cannot win or even draw matches outside its comfort-zone, and even in its comfort-zone, it has a 50-50 record in terms of winning and losing.

Our current ranking is a fair reflection of where we stand as a team and Sarfraz doesn't have a magic wand to turn these hopeless cowards into a top 3 unit. The best we can hope for is the 5th position, but even that will be a tall order considering our tough tours next year.

Sarfi 'll achieve same in tests what he achieved in CT'17. Just wait and watch!! played with broken bowlers 1 spinner and yet he dragged the team to play the two tests. He showed us how to fight in matches where team is down and out. Early days for his test captaincy and people start criticizing him, just cut him some slack. Where were all the critics when we lost to WI and Zimbabwe?

Just give him time. I think he will do well. He has the ability to get the best our of lesser talented players/team as shown in his captaincy with QG and with our LO team.

The discussion here is about *TEST* cricket and thats what I will keep it too.

There is no denying the fact that Sarfaraz was the natural choice to lead the side after Misbah. He has proven his ability to lead in the limited overs format and it was indeed the right move to model the team on a captain for all three formats. However, it is still early days and interpretations of what he plans on achieving, what he is capable of etc are all premature.

Judging from what I have seen, he is clearly missing a couple of reliable batsmen in the side. Sarfaraz the captain with Younis Khan and Misbah in the side would be a completely different equation altogether. One thing is for sure though, Test cricket isnt a game where you can win a match by being a lad's lad captain, bantering your way through 5 days of intense pressure and not showing the right body language when the chips are down.

I doubt Sarfaraz is a quitter, but if he cant handle the pressure of being a leader for 400 more overs instead of the maximum 100, then maybe he must reconsider because im sure Azhar Ali is mature enough to lead the team

We need to understand our test team is very weak and not just batting. When you take a look at the averages and wkts to bowlers other than Yasir shah you will know. Amir and Wahab have been very poor consistently with some phases of good bowling

I think he's going to surprise a few of his naysayers. You learn more from a loss than a victory and the team will have learnt alot from this. My only problem is we dont play enough test cricket, so we do need some more experienced players in the side. All good to bring in youngsters for the ODI's but for tests get me some old hands who can grind out results.

Not much with this test squad , the current batting linup looks extremely weak . The team has lost misbah and YK so the batting may take good 12-18 months to settle or worse they start bringing in some ttfs . Him to survive as a captain , they had to beat SL at home arguably the easiest assignment he will have .
