What would you call an "upset"?

I honestly don't mind calling this an upset. But i don't get why this win should be called an upset and BD's win vs SA shouldn't.
What has Bangla boys form been like??
They've beaten wi. That's it. Literally that's it (plus ireland).
They got beaten convincingly against NZ.
I don't understand why that win is not being called an upset.
What am I missing?

An Upset is that Eng won all the games against us in the concluded series. BUT LOST THE WC MATCH.

Well we lost 11 in a row including 4 to England...and we got battered by the Windies...mentally we looked shot and despondent...England the opposite...on paper they should have won...that we pulled it off is an upset but not an entirely unexpected one...paradoxically us doing the unexpected sometimes is to be expected...

Were SA coming in as hot favorites? no. Did BD batting surprise everybody except Bangladeshis? yes.

England losing to a team down in the dumpsters is a bigger fluke than BD beating a South African team divided by racial tensions.

Yea that was surprising. Bangladesh is a better team than SA it certainly wasn't an upset.

I think its a disrespect to the opposition. South Africa has been a poor ODI team for a while now and the only victory they had was against Pakistan in ODIs

Every team is a flawed team in this tournament including England. Almost like anybody can beat anybody under right conditions. may be with an exception of Afghanistan who are way too inexperienced. So we cannot consider anything as an upset.

They were coming in the match as hot favourites and the odds reflect that.
Bd were 3/1 to win which is more than a mismatch in betting terms. SA should have won it comfortably
Pak were also 3/1 to win
Both won their respective matches.

I can't believe Aus aren't overwhelming favorites. They can handle pressure, have a strong team and are peaking at the right time.

Not really an upset Yes eng were favs but Pakistan were more than competitive in the odi series and shouldve nicked a couple of games if they had held their nerve
